A great team and a great sneaker walk off the court.

As much as he’d hate to hear it, Jeff Green may be best known for sparking the beginning and the end of the Boston Celtics‘ most recent championship era.
From the draft-day trade in 2007 that saw the Celtics take him fifth overall and deal him to Seattle/OKC for Ray Allen, to the 2011 trade that had him pack his bags in OKC and move to Beantown for Kendrick Perkins (and Nate Robinson) Green literally bookended The Big 3 era.
The numbers — 7.3 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in the Playoffs — don’t show it, but Green tried to make an impact in Boston. It’s tough (some might say impossible) to come to a team mid-season and try to replace a key component of that group’s success, especially when you’re just 25 years old.
If there’s one thing that stood out about Jeff Green in Boston, it was his Playoff kicks. His all green Nike iD Zoom Sharkleys were as loud as the Garden was in Game 3. Sadly (for Celts fans, anyway), it was the biggest impact he made in the post-season.
