  I’ma a huge soccer fan, my favorite team is Chelsea. I whoop on people with them in FIFA. I’m not going to lie and say KG is the best or my fave, because I’m a Heat fan. But I love both soccer and basketball and to have them both come together like this into one is just awesome and unbelieveable. I’m more of a basketball fan but not by much. Please hook me up SLAM.   I am a huge Chelsea fan, was before the russian takeover and love them more every time I smell that freshly cut grass. My little brother is even more of a fan and we even sneak off to Cobham (near our home in Surrey) to peak at their training, my brother dreams of one day playing for them. Our family literally bleeds the blue, my dad once called in sick to a very important work meeting because it was being held in Manchester. The passion runs deep to the heart. I’m not going to pretend i’m a huge Garnett fan, because i’m not , but I love the NBA and I love Chelsea, please consider me as I am a true blue fan.

  Meshing together this Chelsea F.C. Jersey with Garnett on the back is as symbolic as when he first donned the Celtic green. Both entrenched in tradition and winning ways. I’ve followed KG since 1995 when this fresh faced kid first entered the league. I remember getting the 95 TSC rookie card of him where he is rocking the Timberwolves hat and the palm of his hand open to the camera as if say “Hey World! I’m here!” KG, being the freakishly athletic guy he is, could easily make the transition to playing soccer and dominate that sport as a forward. Defenders wouldn’t know how to contain this 6’11″ guy, especially when he goes up for a header. KG is as passionate about competing in the league as soccer fans around the world are about THEIR team. They share this same passion that normal people do not understand. Because they’re not real fans. I’m an avid fan of soccer and even a HUGER fan of the NBA. Thanks for the opportunity in winning this awesome prize. I would rock the hell out of the gear!

  hey so, nobody truly deserves this item…but i really want it a whole lot. im as big a soccer fan as they come in america and ive been a chelsea supporter my whole life in fact my whole family is. lampard is my favorite soccer player in the world although hes getting a little older now. im also the biggest celtics fan in MA. hard to believe i know but im deffinitely up there. even before kg arrived i loved them. when they got ray allen i predicted a playoff berth. when they got kg i flipped out and ran outside in my boxers yelling and screaming because i just got out of the shower and heard the amazing news. in school we were asigned to write a sonnet and i wrote mine on the celtics and how they were gonna win number 17 and what do you know……they did i would be very grateful to be given this once in a life time item that i could cherish forever. this would be tghe best of both sports for me. id frame wut i could and guard it with my life. thanks for the oppurtunity slam hope i didnt disapoint.

  Garnett has been one of my favourite players since he first entered the NBA. From his first year being mentored by Mitchell & Porter, to his years with Starbury, then my favourite T’Wolves squads with Brandon, Sealy, Smith & Wally, to one year of success with Cassell & Sprewell, to being surrounded with Mike James & Ricky Davis. I was ecstatic when he was traded to Boston, finally getting a legitimate chance at the Larry O’Brien trophy. Even though a number of “fans” turned on him this past season, I haven’t… nor will I ever. I had never been happier seeing a player win a championship than I was when KG got his in ’08. Long story short, there’s nothing more I love than repping KG (check my name for a couple of my jerseys… R.I.P. Leke), and sporting a Chelsea/Garnett jersey would be a unique way of doing it.

Surprisingly, like KG, Zinedine Zidane and Raul are two of my favorite players as well. And questioning me about my Garnett fandom is a question that I think you already know the answer to.

  Though Chelsea is not even my favorite team that wears blue in Barclays (that would be Everton, and yes, almost entirely because of Tim Howard), I should win this because I too love Fifa almost as much as I love actual soccer. Also, seeing KG in Celtic green sickens me, but the most recent jersey I have of him says Timberwolves on the front of a black jersey, so this would be a lot more fresh than that.

  There is not another person in the world that deserves this dope prize more than me. My whole life I have been down with Garnett. Since the day he was drafted I was rootin for this guy. Even when he was getting knocked out the first round over and over I was rootin for this guy. I could feel his pain when he was in Minnesota loosing in the first round as many times as he did. It was so hard to watch the dying seconds of his elimanation games. I remember when I was younger I used to get intense before games like Kevin would. My dream was always to see him play and meet him and watch him win a ring. I remember when KG got traded to Boston it was one of the happiest days of my life. I could picture the Big 3. I felt the hard times ending. I could feel it.. for once in his career KG had a legit chance at winning what he was missing. an NBA Championship. I had to see KG in action in a Boston uniform live. My dad bought me a Kevin Garnett Boston jersey like a month after he got traded. I gotta a job at McDonalds just so I could make money and go see KG play live in the playoffs. The C’s finished the regular season with 66 wins. I was happier for KG than he himself probably was(seriously!). I had made enough to sit 3rd row in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. I flew out to Boston and got to the arena like 7 hours before!!. Rocking my Celtics KG Jersey and my KG addidas commander kicks that I bought with the money that was remaining from my job I walked all around the arena untill I got to the area where the limbos arrive. 3 hours later after walking around and going to stores near by I saw a bus go through. I made a run for it and I could see Rip Hamilton coming out. The garage was still open. It was like something wanted me to go in there. The two guys at the garage were just about to close and I some how snuck in. They were starting right at me and as I walked through they never said nothing!. I was destined to meet KG. I saw the Pistons players go in. I was cussing at them all. I walked around the parking area. A black escalade pulled in. I thought I missed the Celtics bus. If I got caught I would be kicked out probably and all that hard work would go to waste. So out jumps KG!! from that escalade. He looked at me and winked and made his way towards the arena. I didn’t know what to do. I was speechless. I was about to fall and think about what the hell just happened. I ran at him and said “Yo KG!”. KG responds “What it do”. I told him I was one of his biggest fans ever and have been down with him since day one. I told him how I was so happy he has a chance to win it. I told him I felt his pain from the past seasons. I told him he is the reason I play ball and play every game with passion and love. I told him to light these suckas up tonight. KG smiled at me and pounded his chest saying “Thanks bro I appreciate it, Ima light them up tonight, fo sure” I told him how I flew all the way to Boston to see him play and how I got the tickets. Kevin responded “It’s going to be worth it man, you watch”. I asked him to sign my jersey and shoes. Kevin had a tear in his eye I could tell. He said “At times like this it hits me that WOW! I am actually doing this, I am a celebrity, I remember my I was a kid playing in sandals, I never thought it would get to the point where people would work for moeny to come watch me play from other countries and sh*t!”. He wrote on the jersey. “To my Indian brotha Jagvir, thanks for the love homie”,From Kevin Garnett. Than he signed. It was one of the happiest moments of my life. Kevin shook my hand and made his way out. I had just met one of the greatest players to ever play the game of basketball and after that conversation with him I found out I had also met one of the realist players to ever play the game aswell. So I left through some door and made my way to my seat. KG spotted me in the third row. Gave me a scaaary look. That game KG did what he said he would. He lit them up. He lit the Pistons up. Dropping a season high and playoff high 33 points with 7 boards. It was a great game and the C’s won by 4. We were 1 game away!. Me and Kevin were 1 freaking game away! from the promise land. As the C’s left KG pointed at me and I pointed back at him. He pounded his chest one more time. Than one of the happiest days of my life took a turn. As I left the arena three guys followed me out. I was alone and had to get a cab to the hotel. It was three white males. I hurd one of them say. “This fu**ing terrorist got his jersey signed”. Another dude said “Look he got his kicks signed too”. I turned around and said “Fu** off you ignorant sh*ts”. It pissed me off. They were calling me a terrorist just because I was brown and Indian. As I waited for my cab, these three guys rushed me from the back took me down and ripped off my jersey. I was down and no one was helping me. People were screaming thats all I remembered. They took my shoes and made a run for it. I tried chasing them barefoot. But they got away in their car. It was late in Boston and I was choked. All that stuff I got signed taken away. I called the cops and told them what happened. I a 16 year old boy had just got jumped by some 20 year olds for being different and having something they wanted. So I got in a cab all bloody nose and sh*t. It was a piss off that I got jumped by some racist guys and got something I worked for taken away. I got back home and the next day KG was going to the Finals. I watched them dominate the Lakers in the Finals when they got their. Than that game 6. I actually shed a tear and got goosebumps far before KG’s post game. It hit me with like 5 mins left. We did it. I could feel how KG felt. I watched the C’s celebrate and when KG in the post game came is when I started crying like he did. “Anythings Posiiiiiiiiiible!” “Top of the world!”, “This for everybody!!” at that moment I thought about what Kevin said to me and how this was for me too in a way. Than he screamed “What you gonna say now!?” “TOP OF THE WOOOOORLD”"TOP OF THE WOOOOORLD”. It was a great day and I will never forget that moment when I broke down in the final 5 mins of Game 6 2008 Finals. It felt like I had accomplished something. No KG haters could say anything now. It was like I had a 1000 pound truck on my back and it was gone. The monkey was off my back and best of all it was off of Kevin Garnett’s back. My favorite player the one I grew up watching my whole life, The guy who made me want to play basketball,The guy who went through so many hard times through his life, had FINALLY got what he was missing. The ultimate prize. The NBA Championship. I remember watching Kevin say “I just knocked the bully out”. I thought about when I get bullied at game 5. I was out numbered. For once I could not relate to Kevin because the bullies who took my jerseys and shoes got the best of me I did not get them back or stop them. Please Slam let me feel how my favorite athlete ever felt when he knocked the Bully out!. After all I have been through because of KG and for KG I deserve this stuff more than anybody in the world. Anybody.

  First of all, when i saw Chelsea on the twitter feed, i thought i was getting a post from one of my Chelsea updates. I was wrong, it was you, but even better, I have the chance to win something now. Now on to the combination of KG and Chelsea, I’m a Chelsea fan and i gotta say that’s pretty dope, never thought i would see a Chelsea basketball shoe, topping that with a KG autograph. The Jersey is pretty sick, KG epitomizes heart, determination, and just sheer dopeness. It is only fitting that for Chelsea, the person who rocks the number 5 is Michael Essien. To me, Michael Essien is the person who makes that team what it is (yes i know they have big name players, but….), Essien is a workhorse, coming back early from knee surgery to help the team in Champions League competition, Essien is a beast when defending and he can strike from 30 yards out. I’m not a Celtics fan but i do support them, I’m a Kings fan living in LA, so I get bagged on all the time, but as a basketball fan you gotta love KG, and I don’t see how people in LA hate on KG, dude is just real (maybe 08 had something to do with it hahaha). I’m not much of a fan fo stars, Kobe and LeBron have too many fans, Steve Blake and Juan Dixon are actually my favorite players, but you gotta like KG and Michael Essien (youtube him if you still dont know).   None of us really deserve this; I’m sure we are all in reasonably good health, and have places we can go home to. But I really want this.I’ll try to keep this short as I’m sure no one wants to read a 3,000 word soliloquy about want an inspiration KG was to me during my younger days, but KG had a profound affect on my life. He made me realize that trying hard isn’t enough, you need to be passionate. He brings the same brooding intensity to every game he plays ( and after seeing this years play-offs, he brings it to the games he doesn’t play in as well). It is that passion that makes him one of the greatest players ever to play the game. It is that passion that brought banner 17 to the Celtics ( that’s another reason why I like the man.) It is that passion that makes me so passionate about everything I do in my life.

  I deserve this SWAG because I supported KG through his whole career and I have been a die hard Chelsea fan for years. I supported him from the day he was The Kid straight out of highschool ready to change the game forever. KG taught me a lot of life lessons. KG taught me to be real, be passionate, work hard. When he won that ring he waited for so long I learned that good things will always come to those who wait. Another thing I learned from Kevin was stay strong and keep your head up through hard times. I learned this from him because in Minnesota other than individual accolades Garnett was going through some hard times because he had no help there and was losing every year. It was so fun watching Kevin dominate games but it would really piss me off when he lost those games. Other than Allen Iverson I think Kevin was the most deserving of that Ring. He is a legend and I have watched him my whole life and loved his style. He even taught me some on court lessons like how to get in your opponents head just by looking scary and talking smack. Kevin taught me how hard you have to work to win and if you want success and want to accomplish your goals you have to give it all you got and if you fail get back up, keep your head up and try even harder. He taught me eventually hard work is guarnteed to pay off. Another major reason I deserve this is because Basketball is my first sport and it really pisses me off when I play soccer with the guys at the park how they say basketball is not phyiscal and how it’s boring. I still like soccer and am a die hard Chelsea fan and it would be cool rocking these to afternoon soccer games at the park and doing Garnett like things (cussin,giving dirty looks,dominating, playing with passion) with Garnetts name on my back. Everyone thinks that I can’t play soccer just because I have baggy shorts and rock a basketball jersey and I always get laughed at and doubted just like Kevin did when he came into the league. I deserve this SWAG just like Kevin deserved that ring. SLAM I need this more than anyone out there. Proving people wrong who doubt you and piss you off your whole life is priceless just like this stuff. Kevin knows how priceless proving people wrong is. Peace

  i deserve This due to the fact that i love basketball.and used to be one of those people who never thought much of soccer.i used to be like the rest of the nation who didnt give any attention to soccer.When i learned of how many NBA players were obssessed with the sports…(the the steve nash’s,the kobe’s the kg’s)it made me want to oppen my mind to the sport and what it had to offer.the game was exciting, exhillarating, and the players were so passionate about the sport.and that grabbed me and sucked me into the sport that is known as futbol.so i deserve this because i am 1 of those few that changed my thought about the game of soccer…to the point where it is my second passion(to basketball of course)…

  well put it this way… in australia soccer is the fourth “football” sport behind both rugby union, rugby league and Australian football… Basketball is also one of the least popular sports in australia…(have you seen the nbl recently?????) myself though am a big fan of both Basketball and soccer (sorry football) and really keen on the new A-League..   I deserve this prize because of the links between the way KG and I play the game of basketball and soccer. In the game of basketball, Kevin Garnett plays every game like it’s last, with passion that is unmatched. I play the same way on the soccer field, running around, screaming to teammates, never taking a possession off. Garnett’s defense on the basketball court is supreme, a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate. On the soccer field, at fullback or center back, I try to do the same, get the defensive side of the field fully functioning at all times. Garnett is a team player in the hoops setting, the rest of his team can count on him not hogging the ball or not giving his teammates free will. Passing always comes first to me when I play soccer, reminding myself to do my job on the field and let others do their job. Garnett has been playing hoops since he was a kid, loving it the whole way through. While I played soccer in Kindergarten and took a break until sixth grade, I have been playing as hard as I can the two years since. I try to emulate Kevin Garnett’s play on the basketball court, and I try to bring that same intensity to a different game that I am almost as passionate about. That’s why I deserve this crossover-sport prize.

  The reason why i feel i should win this amazing package is because i am a true fan of both soccer and basketball. The only two sports i have ever played are basketball and soccer. My favourite team is also Chelsea. With players like Didier Drogba, Joe Cole, Terry, Lampard, and Ballack, that have helped me enjoy the game. Im also a big fan of KG, and what he has done to this industry. I remember times, when he was a Timberwolf, and i would always play as him in NBA Live 01. Now, hes on the Celtics, and is still rising. I have a lot of enjoyment watching both Chelsea in the Barclays Premier League, and Celtics in the NBA. With this package, it has one of the NBA’s greatest players and it has a great football team. This is contrasting, because two different sports, but it shows the love and sportsmanship between atheletes. This jersey is very unique and shows history, and any person with this should be grateful.

  I would be really pumped to receive this swag. I have been a KG fan since he came into the league. The first SLAM magazine I ever bought was the Showbiz and KG cover and I’ve been a SLAM supporter ever since. I remember all of the years in Minny when they lost in the first round. I remember the year that KG won MVP and they got out of the first round. When they beat Sacto in the second round that year I stayed up super late making a t-shirt with the date, the score, KG’s stats, his number and name on the back, and MVP on the arm because I was so pumped to stick it to my friend who was a Chris Webber/Sacto lover and KG hater. I couldn’t list all of my KG/SLAM memories. When he got traded to Boston I was crushed/pumped because he was leaving Minny but joining a contender. I got chills watching his postgame interview after they won the championship. I really don’t think there will ever be another player that I support as hardcore as KG. Hook me up.

  Being from Chicago liking KG is almost second nature. His tenacity and heart are inspiring to any athlete. My ties to Garnett go deeper than just Chicago though. I was actually born in Minnesota in the twin cities, and moved to Chicago when I was 8. I have grown up on KG my whole life practically and he has been a great inspiration for me. When my beloved Bulls had the chance to get him a few summers ago and did not, it devastated me. My favorite player coming back for a homecoming to his home town seemed too perfect. Kevin speaking about his admiration for soccer sais a great deal about his character. Soccer is a very under appreciated sport in the United States and deserves a lot more publicity. These players are elite athletes and deserve proper recognition. As you mentioned in the article Fernando Torres who is nicknamed El Niño, yes he is also nicknamed the kid, is a world class athlete. Just like KG, El Niño competes on the worlds highest stage, and is one of his sports biggest superstars. KG’s sportsmanship and mutual admiration for the worlds biggest game is awesome. I don’t think Soccer will ever get the attention it deserves in the United States, but efforts like this from KG will certainly help.

  I’ve played in a local Park & Rec league in San Francisco for the past 4 years. Due to the recent cut-backs, the Park & Rec has had to cut many of its after school programs for kids. Because the Park & Rec feels like family to me and my teammates, we’ve pledged to raise $1,000 to help keep some of the programs running. We know it’s not a lot- but it’s something.   Well here we go, I believe I should win the set because I’m a good ol Irish boy from Mass who whenever basketball is mentioned, all I can think about is the Celts, and as far as I’m concerned there are no other teams, and KG is definitely one of the best. My favorite sport however is football (soccer) and I’m a Chelsea die-hard and have been since day one (of me coming in contact with European football). I don’t understand why people are posting comments talking about Torres or other things that have nothing to do with Chelsea. This set is for CHELSEA fans and should seriously go to no less.
  I grew up with the Celts, my whole family likes the Celts, only basketball games I’ve ever watched are the Celts. And like the Celts, Chelsea was there to introduce me to football. It was world cup time in 10th grade when I really got into it and I had grown fond of Michael Ballack (captain of Germany) and after all that was done I realized he played for Chelsea. So I looked into it. Tho not the best club at the time they were on the rise and I decided they needed my support. And I’ve been bleeding blue ever since. I watch every game no matter what (even if it means cutting a few classes here and there around Champions League time and staying in the dorm to watch), I was at the World Football Challenge, I painted my car to have Chelsea all over it just because it was already blue, I organized a supporters group at my college, I piss checks away at the newest kits and scarves from overseas. There isn’t much I won’t do for this team.
  Now that we have these competitions come over, we have jerseys being sold in stores here, we have some games on TV now, we have celebs and our athletes publicly endorsing these teams, and now we have this… all these things are finally bringing two huge parts of my life together into one. Once I thought these things were so different, and the news that they are slowly merging makes me just as happy as when I saw this limited package picture for the first time. And I do realize that the “political” factors of KG playing for an Irish founded and representative team and openly supporting Chelsea, which is linked to past political issues of being loyalist and the troubles with Ireland and England (if you ask me I thought he would have liked Celtic FC ). But then it hit me. We as Americans don’t see all this. We see good players and a good team. Just like we see the Celts and we see great players and a great team. KG does the same. Chelsea caught his eye just like it caught mine and he has respect for the teams players and abilities and that is all that SHOULD matter in sports.
  So, I believe I should win because it would mean so much to me as a Celts and Chelsea fan from Mass to own such a significant symbol of my two personalities coming together; the Irish Boston fan and the football loving Chelsea fan. Even if I am not picked this should seriously go to a die-hard fan of Chelsea AND supporter of the Celts & Boston! Anything else would just be wrong…

When it comes to NBA and world football two of our biggest beefs involve the following 1) KG is only a second banana 2) Chelsea ruined the EPL. Roman Abramovich turned the EPL into a fantasy league with no team spirit. I argue vehemently against both points. If I could walk out with a Garnett Chelsea shirt on to get my morning paper and he saw me, the beef would be squashed for ever.

  I don’t think I should win because I want KG to use the the jersey to sign with a European team like other nba players are doing like your boy Josh and Brandon Jennings and the few others. Exempt I’m not talking playing hoops, but soccer. Wait, that won’t happen so as a person married to basketball and a person who is has a growing passion for soccer(somebody has to defend US soccer from my hispanic coworkers harsh comments)Ishould get it. Plus, post Jordan da big ticket has been my favorite player. I played soccer growing up and basketball was always on tv so I could get to much of a feel for it.

  I like to think I deserve this KG swag for several reasons. One, I was born in Minnesota, raised in Boston, and have love for both places which surprisingly have a few things in common – super stars in Randy Moss, David Ortiz, and of course Kevin Garnett. Is Adrian Peterson next? I’ve always followed Garnett and basketball for both organizations and the sport is my biggest passion. Without hoops I would probably be just another tall, lanky kid only good for cleaning ceilings. Two, I enjoy collecting sports gear especially of Boston nature, but I’m missing a Garnett piece sadly. Three, I started playing soccer as a kid and it ranks right up there with basketball. I ran and played as hard as I could, much like Garnett, until I broke my leg on the field. But I didn’t let that stop me, because like basketball, it was a passion. I have jerseys of a few nations and appreciate worldwide play. And lastly, friends poke fun and take notice of how random and colorful my wardrobe collection is, and this bright blue Chelsea jersey would be a perfect addition.

  I deserve this because I live in Minnesota and I played soccer for 10 years when I was younger. Although not a huge Chelsea fan, I still root for them because of Petr Cech and Deco!!! As for basketball, I have played ever since I was only 4 years old (the same time I started playing soccer). I rooted for the Timberwolves only because of Garnett (they are now an afterthought). I felt Garnett’s pain when he was here in Minny and was overjoyed when he won with the Celtics. He has always been a favorite players even when 2,000 miles away and injured. Although I will never get to see him play in person, I will always consider him one of my favorite athletes and a role model. That is why I deserve to win this swag.

  I deserve this dream package because it is a perfect combination of all my likes and passions. Garnett has always been one of my favorite players due to his unique skill set and demeanor and this feeling only increased when he joined the only team I can consider myself a diehard for.
  Additionally, I studied abroad in London, living in the “Royal Borough of Chelsea and Kensington.” I have always been a big soccer fan, growing up playing the game, but I had never chose a team in the premier league to follow. My geographic location combined with finding something in common with Garnett made choosing Chelsea as my team easy.
  I can say I have a Garnett jersey, and a Chelsea jersey, but I can also say, without thinking twice, that I would trade them both for the combination of the two that you are offering.

  I think i deserve to win is because i been a KG fan all of my 15 years of my life. I seen him play when he was with the T- wolves and still watch him play for the celtics even though im a Laker fan. Also i play both sports.I grew up playing soccer then saw basketball and started to play it to. Even though im not a chelsea fan i like watching the teams in Liga BBVA ill still were it with pride since im a KG fan. It will also mean alot to me if i win since i never seen KG play since i live in Los angeles and i never seen him in person or never had his autograph. It will mean alot to me if i win its like having the best of both worlds soccer and basketball.
