Links: Will LeBron Leave?

The Cavs are dunzo. Is LeBron’s time in Cleveland over, too?

by Lang Whitaker

OK, who picked the Cavs to lose in the second round? Not me, and even if you’re a Celts fan, I’m guessing you didn’t expect this either, especially in six games. Congrats to the Celts, because they just plain outplayed, outworked, outcoached and outhustled the Cavs all night. Straight-up.

We’ve got game notes coming shortly, and we can talk about why and how the Celts won. And why the Cavs lost. (For what it’s worth, LeBron finished with 27 points, 19 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 steals…and 9 turnovers.)

But the big story tomorrow and the next few months is going to be the obvious one: What happens to LeBron?

Your guess is as good as mine.

I think he stays.

What do you think?

    Anton you LOSERRRRR!!!

  • http://sfdjklf.com Jukai

    This is just… wow… crazy…

  • http://theviewfromthestudentsection.blogspot.com Mike

Man, he had a chump supporting cast show up tonight. I say he heads to Chicago to play with D-Rose.

  • Atrain

Lebron is goooooonnnnneee he couldnt rip that Cavs jersey off fast enough

  • James aka…

None of the support looked good. Shaq is finished. Lazy, self indulgent and now totally useless. I used to despise kobe in that feud, but now I see Kobe is driven to succeed, and shaq is just the most decorated underachiever in history. He should have been dominant for 2 decades, but he’s alway been about shaq, not the game.

  • http://www.slamonline melvin ely

I think he stays as well. This is a team that took him (or vice versa, but whatever) to 60+ wins for two straight seasons. Can whatever team he bolts Cleveland for say the same next season? Can the Knicks? I’ll say this going for Cleveland (Leaveland? Ok that was cruel) though: whereas the Knicks or whatever other team vying for Lebron still need to build a group of players around him to be considered championship caliber, the Cavs are just ONE COACHING CHANGE AWAY FROM THAT. And that’s real, Cavs fans. Yes, this is the last game Mike Brown will ever coach for the Cavs, if management is serious about retaining Lebron’s services for 2011.

  • http://sfdjklf.com Jukai

I mean, I know it was the coaching and the SUPPORTING cast that lost tonight, not necessarily Lebron… but they lost because of James’ stinker in game 5. Don’t want anyone making excuses….
Lebron goes to Miami with Wade. That’s my guess. If his Pippen wont come to him, he’ll find his Pippen.

  • http://breadcity.org Jake

Yeah I was thinking the same thing: Bron pulled that jersey off two steps into the tunnel.

I love how he had “terrible game” and got a triple double. Yeah, he’s gone.

  • http://sfdjklf.com Jukai

Lang, here’s a question for you: How many days before Mike Brown gets fired?

  • http://www.slamonline.com big_ticket

bron needs to stay,i hate to see him lost,im kinda sick of this

  • J.C.

I wouldn’t mind seeing him in Miami, running with D-Wade, Riles back on the sidelines, ship Supercool Beas for a decent forward/center. I really, really don’t see him going to New York, he’d just be squandering another few years of his prime while they rebuild. If he can go somewhere with an established superstar (Miami, Chicago to an extent, anywhere which can sign him and Bosh) I think he goes, otherwise I think he stays.

  • http://www.slamonline melvin ely

Jukai, I’m not sure about the numbers, but do you think Miami can offer him more in terms of $$ than the Knicks? Don’t they have another guy that’s also asking for max money? I’m not sure if either one (Wade and Bron) is willing to take a cut just for the sake of playing together. Just my opinion though.

  • mj23

9 turnovers by Lebron…not good. This series has shown Lebron still has room to grow as a player. He was just way to inconsistent and didn’t really do a good job getting his teammates involved. Also, KG dominated inside against Jamison who was a no show. Shaq needs to retire, and Mike Brown should be fired. I don’t think Lebron will stay with Cavs. Losing this series will leave a bitter taste in his mouth. Lebron should join the Bulls. He, DRose, and Noah would be an outstanding nucleus.

  • http://www.slamonline melvin ely

and also, my view always was that Lebron was more of a coach on this Cavs team than Mike Brown ever was. He needs someone in that locker room who can take the helm completely and command respect. Not to mention a coach that knows that playoff basketball is about matchups goddamit.

  • http://the_big_balla@hotmail.com James the Balla

Lebron and the Cavs showed TERRIBLE heart in the end. Leave the court for the the real basketball players. Congrats on the stats Bron.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

Personally I’m happy for the Celtics. But not so happy for LeBron. I’m EXTREMELY happy that Shaq’s “Voyage of Laker revenge” campaign has sunken once again. Whata schmuck.

  • http://www.slamonline melvin ely

and I LOL’d how james the baller, after being AWOL for like forever in the comments, suddenly pops in for a first post flame directed at anton immediately after cavs get dropped

  • http://sfdjklf.com Jukai

Ely: They do have the money to sign both Wade and Lebron to max, if they don’t care about the massive salary cap overflow.

  • Diesel

I think he leaves. Cavs are coming back with the exact same team next year. If he re-ups he’s looking at 5 more years of losing. The cavs as currently constructed, plus or minus some role players (which is all they can afford) are not beating orlando any time soon. My personal bias is Lebron to Chicago. On a related note SHUT UP KNICKS FANS – no big name is coming to new york. You guys are going to end up paying joe johnson and carlos boozer max contracts.

  • T-Money

Not going to sugar coat it: he failed. He didn’t play well enough to win, I would have liked him to shoot 30 times. Too many turnovers. All the “insiders” have him going to Chicago with Cal as the coach. Not a bad team, I guess. I’d be worried about the lack of shooters with Rose, Deng, James and Noah in a starting 5. / If he REALLY wants to win rings, he puts the ego aside and goes to Miami with Bosh. I don’t know how those things work but apparently they have enough cap room for all three.

  • mj23

@James, You’re right this team showed no heart. It was disappointing to see the Cavs just quit at the end. When, the lead got to 14 around the 5 min. mark, you could just tell from their body language. They looked like a beaten team.

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

@melvin; You know what a homeless guy told me today? A homeless man!? That the Cavs biggest problem was their lack of adjustment from game to game. A homeless man. I hope Mike Brown gets the same firing as the Robocop ending… I’m joking of course.

  • http://the_big_balla@hotmail.com James the Balla

Thanks Melvin… I have been waiting for the right moment. Meloman, riggs, logues, mvp, anton : D lol … Didn’t The Seed call this? Maybe he is actually a genius…

  • http://sfdjklf.com Jukai

T-Money: Uh, they don’t… Bosh, Wade, and Lebron would ALL have to take (semi-massive) salary cuts for that to happen.

    LEBRON JAMES

  • http://www.nba.com/suns Dacre

I think LeBron stays. Shaq and Mike Brown go. They draw some big names….maybe try and get hold of Joe Johnson?

  • lovesmerondo

I say lebron flees to chicago and maybe persuades bosh and wade to come too for lower contracts- can you spell DYNASTY! d-rose, d-wade, lbj, bosh and joakim noah in the same lineup? not in an all-star game? All season? id wager about they go 75-7

  • lovesmerondo

  • http://www.nba.com/suns Dacre

@Spaceship Jay – That homeless guy was Avery Johnson?!?!

  • Irfan

Now stupid Lebron fans who didn’t watch the game will say once more that LBJ doesn’t have valuable teammates! But this guy shot 8/21, loss 9 balls (not counting his 2-3 bad passes that led to TOs) and shot 9/12 FT. This means he basically had the last hand in half of the Cavs offensive possessions, especially in the second half!
Of course, when you play alongside a good Mo Williams (20 points in first half), an inside force such as Shaq, and good roleplayers, why give them the ball? And when the see it once every 3 minutes, yep, they don’t always do miracles!
The double-MVP dribbled twice off his feet in the fourth. He ran, as always, head low and shoulder first; and though he got many comprehensive calls, he wasn’t able to cheat as always.
So long Lebron. Live up to your nicknames and dances. I loved you last years because I thought you were mature and in progress, but your game has become uglier each year and you’re less humble than ever.

But of course, as always, his teammates suck, and he has a TD so he’s so brilliant but unlucky. Right.

(On the 19 rebounds, many of them were off Boston’s missed FTs, on which the Cavs could just pick who rebounded and it came logically to the only one able to touch the ball. 3 offensive rebounds is the real number: and it’s fairly good. But not great.)

  • http://myspace.com/dontdiecindy Bryan

ive been saying it for years Lebron is the Pippen.

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

I think he leaves. Another 60+ win season will be meaningless in a year the moment they face a good team whom they have to beat 4/7 times.

  • Irfan

If Lebron really played as a 3-4, his actual team would be so threatening! When he runs every offense, a good defense easily picks him because he doesn’t have many moves, he likes to muscle his way through, and he doesn’t drible that well. But if he was to be a threat without the ball, that would mean one or two guys would focus on him, while Mo or Parker or West ran the offense. And these are very good players… when they have the ball! Then with Shaq and Bron and Jamison to check, while Mo has the ball around the paint and Parker or Moon or West is a 3-points threat, the defense soon collapses.
But Lebron needs his numbers, his triple-doubles, so he wants to do it all by himself, to get all the credit. If you want that, take also all the shame and responsability. Especially when your 2 most important games of the season are amongst your worst ones.

  • http://the_big_balla@hotmail.com James the Balla

I don’t want to hear sh1t about ANY excuses this whole Summer. He failed. The Cavs failed. That’s it. All the dancing, the sh1tting on the under .500 teams, the hype, the best records, MVP’s, COY’s, HOFer’s, All Stars … no more excuses. Anton and every other guy who said how good this team was, they choked again with one of the most stacked teams of the last decade. GTFOH.
Feels good to get this off my chest.
I am glad to see we have some teams in the conference finals who will actually show heart instead of letting the last 5 minutes of their season drip slowly through the abyss like Anton’s mothers v a g after sleeping with the homeless guy spaceship jay is talking about.

  • G I I

looked like LBJ mailed it in…

  • Bruno

damn I didnt expect this … I was waiting for game 7 … Cavs have done everything for Lebron to get that ring but that’s not enough so he’s gone … where?? that’s another question

  • http://slamonline.com Brad Long

I think the odds are that he comes back. Cleveland is going to have to land either Amare, Joe Johnson, or Chris Bosh or a combination of those players, but I think they’ll get it done. If I had to guess at second options I’m going Nets, Bulls, Knicks, Heat, and with a dark horse pick I’m going with Dallas in that order.

  • El Chinas.

Some food for thought – doesn’t a winning team’s winning attitude start from its star player? Can you see Kobe or even Steve Nash’s teams give up with 2 minutes left, down 7 to 9 points? Full court press? Steal attempts? Quick shots? Foul? Lebron is a once in a lifetime talent and electrifying to watch, but it is hard to tell whether it is winning chips or money that motivates him – perhaps still has a lot to grow mentally.

  • http://the_big_balla@hotmail.com James the Balla

It “looked” like he mailed it in? lol … just a little.

  • http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/2010/03/paul-pierce-and-the-celtics-hearing-boos/ L

Lebron is going out. But one thing is for sure he wont go to the Knicks. Knicks have NO BENCH or depth whatsoever. Heck LeBron isnt the only leaving. I bet Mike Bron and Woodson are going bye bye in a few days

  • T-Money

If he goes to NY, it won’t be alone. And even then, I dunno why but I don’t trust Bosh like that. Chi or MIA.

  • T-Money

Is it even debatable that Mike Brown gets fired like… yesterday?

  • http://slamonline.com Brad Long

Who was it that coined the phrase “fake hustle”?

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

So… Lebron has the incredible ability to do things no human can, but somehow doesn’t have the heart fill these superhero shoes? Maybe he should fly off alone to Mars and build a shiny elaborate city there.

  • The Wize

We need a slamup of rondo behind the back on the break

  • T-Money

Obviously those who don’t want to hear it right now have the upper hand but I think Bron tried tonight. He failed miserably but he did try. His passing was off, his shot was off, his finishing was off. But he played strong defense, got on the glass and tried to run even tho Mo couldn’t see him.

  • http://www.slamonline melvin ely

Joel O’s: annnnd now I have a picture of a blue-skinned butt naked Lebron James dancing, Thanks a lot

  • http://www.slamonline melvin ely

And here’s a random thought: how pissed off do you think the celtics are gonna be when they find out that they just pulled out an enormous win and absolutely nobody is talking about THEM? I’d say the magic get eviscerated on Game 1.

  • Hangtime Hec

I liked how you alluded to Dr. Manhattan Joel O’s. But thats exactly it, he may be super, but he is no hero. Some of the commenters comparing him to Pippen in the Jordan-Pippen combo seem to make sense.

  • http://www.nba.com/bobcats Anton

Man, the Mavs/Cavs fianls is going to be CRAZY!!!!

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the Balla

    I agree Anton.
    I like this Anton!!

  • http://www.nba.com olive_akiko

Am I the only one who can’t see Lebron and Wade coexisting? That doesn’t address interior defense or outside shooting, the two things these guys need around them. My bet is on Lebron and Bosh on one team, and Wade and Amare/Boozer on another. Good Lord can you imagine Lebron or Wade alongside Dwight or Dirk? Yikes.

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the Balla

    I feel re-juvinated!!

  • T-Money

Crazy rumor by Chad Ford: he said that he has talked to 3 gm’s and they all have the same story. Bulls will sign n trade Deng for James then go for Bron. D-Rose, Bron and Wade is not legal. It’s just not. / I think we’ll see a different LeBron next year. Getting your ass handed to you every May will humble you. He’ll lick his chops, stop the handshakes and the dancing sh-t. You can still have fun like Magic did without the antics.

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the Balla

Have a good night everyone. I hope to see the real Anton on tomorrow : D.
Once he finishes up on that bitty.
Again, congrats to the Celtics. And congrats on the stats Lebron.

  • Josh

I had him as staying. However, with them losing in the second round when this was supposedly their championship year, although us Laker fans will fight to the death on that, I don’t see him happy here. All the losing, even with the great supporting cast, one of the deepest benches in the league and they cant win? I now think Lebron will join Wade in Miami and Riles will come back to coach in an attempt for one more ring.

  • The Wize

bron, wade and melo all gone fishing

  • Bruno

did he shake hands with any celtic??? anybody knows??

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

@Hangtime & melvin ely: Haha, thanks. I think if he ends up in New York the Doc Manhattan thing will be even more apt. I think Lebron actually put in a lot of effort this game. But he had to strike harder, right from the get-go. Sure he had 9 points in the first, but aside from that nice dunk I had to think hard to remember how he got those points – putbacks, etc.

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

@melvin ely: Better a blue-skinned butt nekkid LBJ than a blue-skinned butt nekkid Greg Oden dancing in your mind.

  • estoniandude

@Bruno Yes, hea shaked hands with Celtics, he didnt want such truoble like with the Magic

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/officerbarbrady what

I think he leaves, but not to NYC.

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

Actually if Lebron James is Doc Manhattan, then Kobe is Rorschach. Both of them toiled lonely and alone for years after their days of former glory abruptly ended – when the oldie superheroes were disbanded, when the early 2000s’ dynasty ended at the Pistons’ hands. Both of them are so obsessively driven by their own personal goals (Rorschach to his ideal of justice, Kobe to his quest for greatness) that they come off as incredibly caustic and their dedication is misunderstood to many. Moreover, they are both really complex characters; Rorschach has a face hidden by that constantly changing ink blot, whereas Kobe has too many “faces” and aspects to him to count: his petulant selfish “bad Kobe” chuckster side, his “yeah look at me drop F-bombs I am ghetto ya’ll” side, his “good teammate and leader” side, his chipmunk jaw-jutting passionate side, his White Hot cleavage-baring sensitive Tupac pilgrim milkmaid side(s)…

  • http://sfdjklf.com Jukai

And that’s two playoff loses to the Celtics. My Wilt Chamberlain comparisons are looking DEAD-ON right now

  • http://sfdjklf.com Jukai
  • Kendo

Before the season, even before the playoffs, I said there’s no way he’d leave. Now, I don’t see how he doesn’t leave. How much better are the Cavs going to get with their cap situation? They’re really not going to be able to do much.

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

@Jukai: Indeed, man. Good luck to your Suns. Truly, the best 4 squads are left.

  • Hangtime Hec

Wow. The Rorschach comparison is spot on! The changing ink-plot as a representation of the enigma that is kobe is clever. Were Rorschach was driven by justice to points of insanity Kobe is driven to prove that he can win by himself to the point that he mimics MJs every aspect to the gum chewing and walk. I guess I reached at the end. But yeah the comparisons are there.

  • gws10

if you all would of seen this all went down hill when mike brown failed to give lbj the time out he wanted when he hurt his elbow. look at the reaction of the team to coach brown from that part on. Lbj knew could not win this year and get rid of mike brown. HE was thinking of the future in cleveland and mike brown is not part of that plan.

ONE big tell guys that he is staying — remember he petitioned the nba to change numbers next year no need to do that if you were going somewhere else..

  • Scotty Pimpin

the king and the prince aka DRose ……….GO BULLS………we are coming for you orlando

  • thedimemachine

The Watchmen comparisons are on point. Would Shaq be The Comedian, then? Who would be Nite Owl?

  • thedimemachine

And I think he’s going to the Nets. They got a legit big man and a serviceable pg (who’s a good trade bait too) and a top 3 draft pick coming.

  • Scottie Pimpin

oh yeah NY Is starting to look more pathetic in trying to lure The King……the only thing NY offers the king is bright lights free lapdanaces and a coach who only wants to focus on offense and play mind games with its players….Chicago is the best move for anyone who wants to win, they got one the best home crowds, good pizza, and marissa miller…..that equals championchip in my book……plus bill murray is a better than spike lee,,,,GO BULLS !!! :)

  • T-Money

The thing is, Cleveland is kinda screwed. They obviously let Z and Shaq walk but nobody is taking Mo and Twan off their plate. Mo has definitely proven that he’s not top 3 material on a championship team and Twan will still get abused by the KGs and Gasols. The team is over the cap. It’s not clear how they can alter this roster. With that said, a good coach (real coach?) could have done better. Barkley has only been saying for 3 years that they should play fast and Bron should get half of his points in transition.

  • http://www.bulls.com Enigmatic

I have no clue if dude will leave or if he’s even leaving but I’ll say this, besides staying put his second best (or maybe first best?) option would be to go to the Chi. The fans would love him right off the bat and he’d have D. Rose, and Noah. I got my fingers crossed but not holding my breath

  • Elias

If he stays, the Cavs need to change their strategy. Make Mo and others create more plays, don’t just use Lebron to do everything, they’ve got some pretty good players there. Chicago seems nice, but I think they might be aiming for Wade. The big three (Bron, Wade and Bosh) might all leave.

  • NAS

he stays on a 3 year contract

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

@Elias: The problem with the whole “play Bron off the ball” thing with the Cavs is that Mo isn’t a point guard, and neither really is West or Gibson. This game, the minute Lebron took a breather late in the first quarter, the Cavs ended up having Mo dribble the ball aimlessly while being doubled on the left wing while everyone else stood around, causing a turnover.

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

@thedimemachine: Derek Fisher is Night Owl. Aging and decrepit, but they continue to get the job done by relying on tools that make up for being physically mediocre (smarts, nifty gadgets and flying stuff, a clutch jumper). They also hold the inglorious honour of being the only guys in their respective universes who are capable of not only co-existing, but even enjoying the company of Rorschach/Kobe on an extended basis.

Lebron to the Knicks along with D-Wade and Dirk.
That’s what my NBA2K roster looks like since today.

The King will rise up again and all will bow to his greatness! Bring me all ye players, coaches, and GM’s. Marvel at his body! M@sterbate to his stats! Drool at the handshakes! Be in awe of his mailing it in on the defensive end! Gawk at his passes, as if throwing them at 9000 miles an hour will make your teammates better! And for the grand finale, witness his complete surrender in a critical time! But ye all will come y’onder. Why? Because he’s The King!!!

  • http://stapledesign.com Spaceship Jay

I was kidding about the Mike Brown/Robocop firing. I was NOT kidding about the homeless guy not adjusting to anything or anyone in the playoffs. Wooooooo! That KG/Shaq matchup was sooooo… Stupid. If/When they adjusted it seemed like they adjusted BACKWARDS.

  • http://www.realcavsfans.com Anton

However, there is always good news. Besides getting head from my girl while this game was almost over, I realized that LeBron wasn’t the only one who became a free agent. The Fanton Free Agency Shopping Frenzy commences now! This means that to a lucky fanbase, you will gain my fandom. You see, after my team prematurely ej@culated, I now need a new team to follow. Since I am not one of those fairweather “I don’t really like teams, I root for players” type, I need a team to follow throughout league pass, to watch on TV, to get to know in-depth, and to drive 300 miles to see live. Again, the benefits you receive:
    1 – purchase team merchandise
2 – rip other team’s merchandise in the store
3 – undying love to the team, coaching staff, GM, owner, and that one cheerleader who’s likely to file a restraining order
4 – backing up the team’s actions on this site and bashing other rivals, with no regard for political correctness or morality
5 – constantly begging Slam to put the best player on the cover of Slam, no matter how ridiculous or far-fetched
6 – moaning your team’s name in bed. seriously.
With that said, make me your cases as no serious offers shall be refused. Happy free agency!

  • http://www.slamonline.com J

I never love any team this much in my entire life. I swear to everyone I believed in everything we do and completely put every ounce of faith in this team. Honestly I’m not even from Cleveland. WHY? I LOVE THIS TEAM. I DON’T KNOW WHY. Í will continue to support this team no matter what. LeBron or none. But what happened must be accounted to THE WHOLE TEAM. Read THE WHOLE TEAM. LeBron, Jamison, Mo, Shaq… everyone. I believe in team game. I never fully/solely credit Bron in a big win because I believe that everyone is accountable on the result. Win or lose. Like always what I’m going to say is not an excuse. It’s mere facts that everyone, haters, riders, fans everyone, has seen what I saw. Our team sucked, but there’s a reason behind it. It includes Lebron, he’s a big part of it. But if you really solely fault him on our demise then you’re either a hater or a completely a player’s fan and not the game itself. In 06-07 lakers that lost to the suns Kobe was a complete army of one man. Almost winning a series against the heavy favorite phoenix. But basketball as we know it is a team game. As much as kobe didn’t have the right teammates at that particular time, that’s only half of the reason why they fall. He’s also accountable of not trusting his team enough no matter what kind of players they have and his maturity at that time. So it’s not solely on the team or to mamba, IT’S BOTH. But that changed, Kobe become hungrier, more matured and at the same time the organization find the right teammates for him. Then with great coaching, enough playoff experience, hunger, maturity of Kobe and everyone, that clicked on the right time.. it happened they became champs. So you see no matter how big or great your superstar is, he can’t be exclusively responsible to their teams success or demise. Same with MJ, and every other superstar champions that you can name. so if you reason out lebron coz you say he choked or sucked and completely ignoring the other reasons on why they lose, then you should pitty yourself, because you’re a rider, too much of a player’s fan and not to the game of basketball. That’s sad. So before throwing any words that you think will make you look genius here, just think a million times first.

  • http://sfdjklf.com Jukai

Anton: The Suns are a great team to pick up, my friend!
Likable players, a coach who dresses well and keeps his mouth shut when there aren’t words coming out of it, a team that enjoys handshakes and hugs EVEN if it involves their opponents, and a team that is congratulated and heralded when they play even mediocre defense! All this, with the free agency talks and outrageously disappointing post-seasons that you’re already used too!
You’ll enjoy the new, yet feel right at home at the same time!

  • Bdub

    Nice Anton…… comedy gold

He should of scored more, isolated more (Especially in the 4th). Way to passive.
He should go to Miami or Chicago. Would be a sick team with D Rose and Noah!! Nets a possibility as the might land a decent coach and have Brook Lopez and Devin harris already there.
Also Jay Z’s part ownership could be an influence too.

Can’s see him going to Knicks while D’Antoni is there. He’s not a Championship winning coach.

Couldn’t agree with >( James aka… Posted: May.13 at 11:05 pm) more. I’ve always been a fan of Shaq but he’s an underachiever. With that talent and dominance he should of won more. I am only just beginning to realise the dedication and will to win of Kobe.

  • Bdub

    Oh and go Suns

please Lebron come to new york PLEASE!!!!!! you’re our only hope

  • http://www.slamonline.com J

Jukai: and Nash, what can i say. the league should name an award after him. that player to me is one, if not the, most like-able players this league has ever seen.

  • http://www.slamonline.com J

We have to do a major looking at our selves after this. Mike Brown needs to go. He’s also ONE of the biggest reason of this (read: ONE not the ONLY ONE) He’s a great coach indeed but he’s not the right type of guy to lead this team to the title. I swear I have no clue on why can’t he even construct a play that will utilize the players he had and not go through Lebron. Every f**cking play has to go through James? I’m tired standing up for this guy. I don’t know why he can’t adjust in an in-game situation. I don’t know WHY HE CAN’T SEE THE OBVIOUS. Garnett has been murdering us and it’s not like he’s too busy on other things to see it. We need a coach who’s willing to take the risk of adjusting inside the game. One who’s capable of yelling to his players like Phil, Pop and Pat did to their stars. Where have you seen a championship coach who let his assistant run the offense plays ALL THE TIME? Don’t give me “that he’s still has the final decision” crap. He gets credit for admitting his flaws rather than study his ass on how to run the offense and plays? Jamison never did had a chance in this series cause he was never given one. Infact he was never given since being here. Jamison IS and MUST BE the second option for this team from the tome he was traded. But we treat him as just one of the “supporting cast”. Was Pau, Manu-Tony, Pip ever treated like that? He never had a clue of utilizing Jamison in FULL. I can’t understand why we always choose to go to shaq rather than make Antawn a play. I now can say that this team is and still will be a one man crew if Brown’s manning the sidelines. No matter which players we put in. our offense is so predictable that if you take Lebron out of the equation you’re gonna win. I know youre tired of reading it and I’m tired of typing it too. That’s written to the whole world and it kills me b‘cause we can’t do a single thing about it and it kills me more because I’m ignoring it because of my belief that were not the same “James and the cavs” anymore. I’m not completely thrilled at that game 3 performance because inside me is asking that do we need to have him going that big for us to blow out a great team in the playoffs? I believe there wasn’t even a time that we whooped the others teams a** in the playoffs wherein Lebron was doing garbage. That doesn’t mean to me how bad we need him that just shows me how we can’t match what his doing for us. If this kind of unbalanced thing go on we might not win a title with him here. The bench to me is great, but nonetheless unseen this series cause we don’t know how to make proper rotations, or hell even try to gamble with players that might have chances in giving us what we need in different scenarios. Again poor coaching. Our energy came on spurts and that must be accounted to players themselves. It must also be pointed out Jamison’s poor performance and almost lack of effort in this game. And Shaq? How come that last year he was back to all star form to this in just one year? Cause we don’t know how to use him? Or he’s just become too old this year? It is both. Were outplayed 5 times out of six games. I believe this team can go farther than this with REAL Championship coaching. I’m not making Brown as an excuse. But even all you haters know that we really can’t win it all with this kind of coach.

I didn’t see the game. I repeat, i didn’t see the game. All i know is what happened the last 2 days around the NBA world and what i saw in the stat line. And what i saw in the stat line is a businessman desperately trying to satisfy the market demand and having the expected results. For whatever reason(elbow, Celtics D, i suspect the second one) Lebron could not perform the last 2 games the way his clients (it is a business relation,Lebron has repeatedly said that his no-1 goal is $$$$ related) are used to BUT after what was said and written the last two days, he goes out and gives the average fun what is looking for :Iverson like production. But behind the “Iverson stats” (27-19-10) comes always the “Iverson reality” (38% fg, 9 turnovers). I think Lebron knew he was blocked and that if he pushed things he would end up with the “Iverson stat line” from the previous game. He is a smart player and in order not to hurt his team (he ain’t Iverson) he waited for others to step up. Nobody did and this, combined with the markets reaction, made him “give it all” tonight and ,at least, satisfy the average fun. The only thing truly great at this stat line are his boards (the direct result of “the jaws” effect…).
I’ve said it in the past, i’ll say it again,if Lebron doesn’t win his “first of many succesive” ring next year, his aim of catching M.J, KOBE and the rest of the other greats is over.
I lough with all the kids that say that he has a chance if he goes in chicago. When was the last time a team won an NBA title without solid shooters at its perimeter. I’ll help you: NEVER !!! What many of my kids here do (eboy, jukaitavoris, etc)is to add up “fantasy numbers” (whoouaaou, we got Noah that is a leading rebounder, we got Lebron and Wade that are super scorers/dunkers, we are championship material !!!!) and end up with silly conclusions. At the beginning of the year at this very site i gave my opinion on Cavs chances on a tittle(5%) after everybody here had them as one of the favorites. At the same time nobody said anything about the Celtics (that i gave them to win the east).Maybe now Ray Allen starts getting the respect he deserves here, even if he is not the best dunker in the world . YOU CANNOT WIN ANYTHING IF YOUR BEST PLAYERS CANNOT SHOOT TO OPEN A TIGHT/WELL PREPARED DEFENCE(which is usually the case in the playoffs).
    Schools OUT.

Mo, despite of having an excellent performance this game also needs to be traded if not reduced to a way lesser role. He can’t lead this team at the point. Don’t give me that James is the floor general in this team s**t. We have Mike Brown (no leadership ability, no offense) + Mo (same) = no great offensive flow in the game. I’m going to say this again. Mo, is a 4th option at best in a championship team. great game from him this night. but too late, can’t make up what’s already done.

  • http://www.stonesthrow.com Michael NZ

I still cannot believe how throughly Jamison SUCKED. Completely SUCKED. Mo – big first half NOTHING in the second quarter.

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

What I was appalled at from watching the first half – before I had to run off to the office, was that the Cavs always seemed to come out worse off from every mismatch. That’s on the Cavs’ leadership – Brown, Bron, whoever. WTF was Shaq doing guarding KG 18 feet out again and again? You knew KG was smiling inside every time that happened – even a gimpy KG is vastly quicker than Shaq on the perimeter – and he burned him with jumpers every time. Despite Antawn’s lack of height, he can defend KG better than Shaq can everywhere except at point blank range. And even when Bron had Rondo (or some other smaller guy) on him at one point, he passed off to his teammate.

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

@Michael NZ: And yeah Mo put up some nice numbers in the first half whenever he was shooting and attacking. But he also turned the ball over a lot and made some dumb non-decisions.

  • http://www.slamonline.com J

Lebron. Man, I’ve never ever d**kride Bron ever. I’ve never praised much of what Lebron has done, cause most of the time it equates to the team just going along for the ride. I’m more at joy when Jamison or Hickson put up 20-10, or Williams outscoring Lebron and we win. Game 5 was YOUR FAULT! You didn’t even put up a fight! Lebron, put your jumpshot into the trash and completely build a new one. I don’t care what everybody says about things like you have to have a post up move, more fundamentals blah blah blah… it’s not that Jordan or Kobe had that in their 7th year. But one thing you do is create your own JUMPSHOT! The athleticism will fade but a jumpshot won’t. PLEASE! You know what I envy with MJ and Kobe? Cause even if they shoot off balance, with 9 fingers or what, I know that shot will have a GREAT amount of chance going in cause they’re use to doing it gazillion times. You also must get your s**t and not let the game come to you. You must TAKE IT EVERY F**KING TIME. Stop doing heat checks! I don’t know how many times will I say it but for goodness sakes work the hell on your jumpshot. I’ve never doubted your passion, ability and skill but I’m starting to question your determination. I honestly don’t care about your press cons, your “check my stats” d**che moves. But what we care about as your fan is how do you do on the court. I extremely hope that this last two years really put you down. Way way down. Rock bottom. Not that I’m completely disappointed with you,or maybe I am but because I’m hoping that this will serve you your biggest lesson. This maybe your last stint as a cavalier, and if that happens… I wish you well.

Joel O’s: and how about his D? Or lack thereof. Embarrassing. Cavs have to adjust everything to cover him up. Its not that I’m trying to ignore LeBrons turnovers or anything either – 9 of those – but I just felt the supporting cast was garbage tonight.

  • nastierthanu2

Normally i wouldn’t jump in a thread when it’s over 100 comments but this one is too juicy to let go. Lebron is not better than Kobe. Lebron is a physical beast but his skill level is not high enough. He failed to cross up Tony Allen in crunch time resulting in a Rondo layup. He failed to make a solid post move against Tony Allen resulting in a turnover. He needs more tricks in his back. What does he lack. The hakeem/Mj/Kobe fadeaway. He doesn’t have that shoot in his book. With the fadeaway instead of passing out the double team you can spin away from it (once mastered over either shoulder) and elevate to get a quality look at the rim. He’s got some time off now to work on that shot. Kobe Bryant is the best player in the L.

I’d love to see Lebron stay, but for him to become a complete player he has to leave Cleveland. It seems like no one is willing to challenge Lebron because he’s the hometown boy that’s already the greatest player in team history.

Lebron does not need a pippen, he’s not even Pippen yet. Pip circa 90′s would have ensured Lebron had more 15 point nightmares. Its time bron got down from his pedestal and let his new coach(one way or the other!)coach the team. Oh and this off season will tell everyone if he wants a ring, the guy has more money than he could ever spend so why not take a cut and surround yourself with genuine talent? Money cant buy a championship(mr Cuban)but the greed of the top 10% of players ensures teams struggle to surround them with the best teamates. If he wants a legacy then take 10 mil a year instead of 20 and enjoy having some real help, I’m sure on a measly 10 mil mrs James wont have to start clipping coupons just yet . . . . .

Lebron + Bosh in New York & Wade + Stoudemire/Boozer in Miami = dream 2011 conference finals matchup

Lebron who?? Let’s discuss about the real best player of this series and by far : RAJON RONDO!!!
The guy has something that Lebron doesn’t have : great fundamentals. L

  • http://shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Cheryl

I think he stays, but KG gave him some interesting things to think about–he said don’t think about loyalty to your city, think about you and your family. And here’s what I found really interesting from KG–”You cannot recapture your youth”. And I have to say I agree. I’d love to see him and Wade down here in Miami. Wade has the fierceness that I think LBJ may lack right now.

  • http://joeloholic.wordpress.com Joel O’s

Don’t think the significance of this game was lost in translation globally. Watching the commercials before this game here in China, I noticed they were heavily showing Lebron’s successes and failures in this series, along with the ominous subtitle which essentially said “pay attention – the future of Lebron unfolds”. This game, and the one before that – it isn’t just North America that is in shock.

  • http://nicekicks.com meloman2.0

How come everyone is talking about him and bosh re-signing somewhere else together?? did it ever cross your mind that LeBron could come to Canada!? :)

  • peter

Wouldn’t it be crazy if Lebron just held out on everyone all summer, screwing all the other free agents because teams were still holding out hope to get Lebron and then re-signed with Cleveland?

  • kh

    I think he stays.
I am a witness! I believe Lebron’s performance has solidified what I’ve been saying since the beginning, he is great but he isn’t quite the King everyone has crowned him to be. I absolutely love his unselfish play and willingness to involve his teammates, but this is also what distinguishes THE BEST from the rest. The Greatest have the ability to take over, their competitive fire becomes to strong to allow them to play passively when the game is on the line, especially with the season on the line. Don’t get me wrong Lebron is one of, if not the best player on the planet but he clearly lacks the FIRE to win championships. At this point it is about so much more than talent, it’s about attitude. I just don’t see it when I watch him in these situations. Perhaps he was frustrated with the lack of support, his coach, the pressure? The gift and the curse.

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the Balla

lol Darks, no sympathy. The sh1t that little puke talks. I am glad his bron rim job days are over… well at least until Sept/Oct when the Cavs are going to have the team that is geared to beat the Celtics in the playoffs … just like this year when they were ready to beat Orlando.

  • The D Train

@Cheryl: I thought KG’s comments were the most interesting thing I have heard out of this whole deal. KG’s loyalty to ‘Sota for all those years did not do much but rob him of any chance to compete for a title, other than for a couple years (at best). When KG isn’t being an over-the-top asshat, he can still show us why we loved him in the first place…straight-forward honesty. Loyalty to a fan-base is great and all, but in the end you can’t stay around if you don’t believe the organization gives you the best chance to win every year. Whether Lebron thinks the Cavs offer him that…who knows? I just know that the tag-team of Danny Ferry and Mike Brown have not given Lebron the ammo to win a title. We can talk about regular-season wins and Shaq being a HOF-lock, and Jamison being a former All-Star. When you face a team in the 2nd round of the playoffs and they have 4 of the 5 best players, well you’re a little out-manned. And the same would have been true if they played Orlando. Just picking up name players who are past their primes and a shoot-first, undersized combo-guard is not going to do the trick.

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the Balla

D-Train, are you kidding me… no ammo?
GTFOH … in the last two seasons… the CAVS have had, COY, two MVP’s, 3 All Stars, 3 HOF’ers, 3 if not 4 veterans, two home court advantages throughout the playoff’s, AND 128 WINS!!!! So what your saying, in order for LEBRON to win a championship, he needs on his team … COY, ROY, 6th man, DPOY, more allstars and HOF’ers, MVP, more veterans, 70 something wins (if not 80 something), and the refs to give the man EVERY foul call instead of just 60/70 percent of them????

  • http://shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Cheryl

I agree with D Train: sure the organization signed him some help, and not dregs, but the key to a winning championship team is not only players who can score, but chemistry players who know when to give it up to the leader ON THAT DAY he’s playing well, but also know when to take over if said leader is not up to par.

Chemistry … hmmm, no chemistry … oohhhh so chemistry isn’t winning 60 games in a season while dancing all the time and doing pre game antics and everyone saying they are the favourites to win the ship. Chemistry isn’t having a different handshake with every player and all hanging out together on and off the court? Yeah …they had none of that… everyone knew this whole season how bad they were… the 60 wins were a cover up.
    Come on Cheryl.

  • jay

i think he should stay and a month ago i would say he was a lock to stay..now i am not so sure after tuesday and last night! i think my gut he winds up in new york..just my gut! i just do not see him stay in cleveland

  • http://wealwayswin.net Hersey

I think LeBron joins the Globetrotters for a year

  • The D Train

And of note…other than Shaq many moons ago, who on Cleveland besides Lebron has done squat in the playoffs? James, you spout off these awards, but what do they mean come playoff time. Nothing. Ask Dirk. Now you can ask Lebron, too. I’m saying for Lebron to win a title he needs to have a team that can step up under the bright lights. He needs a coach who plays his best guys and doesn’t play into the other teams strength. Pitching it to Shaq in the post against Boston is probably not the best strategy for getting the most out of Lebron and the others. This version of Shaq takes about 15 seconds to back down and then get fouled. And once again, how can defend building a team that has to compete with Orlando and Boston as its primary competition, and still fails to have at least two of the five best players against either? Lebron is great and all (although well below his standards this series) but you absolutely cannot say that they were not grossly out-manned this year and last. Beating GS and Minny in the regular season means squat. You absolutely cannot say that LBJ had anywhere near the team that Orlando (last year and this) or Boston had/has. I don’t care for LBJ, but I also can’t sit here and sh1t on just him when Mike Brown and the rest of the Cavs team/organization has to shoulder blame too.

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the Balla

For examples I will reference games against the Lakers this season, and Orlando, check out when Sideshow Verahojojyahjo hits a 3 pointers, blah blah blah … this team had the MOST chemistry the last two season.
The next excuse: Not enough black guys!!

  • The D Train

Also James…just curious if you think any player in the NBA could replace Lebron with the current Cleveland roster and coach and win a title?

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the Balla

D train lol … you don’t read this site much eh?
Shaq had 18-10 last year. he was going to beat other teams up in the playoffs. Z was signing back and every team had to watch out, WHY? Because he is basically the best shooting 7 footer in the league. Twan was the missing link. West wasn’t going to jail and was going to be a big help off the bench, moon and parker were brought in for Defensive lock downs and 3 point shooting, AV was one of the best defenders this year, Mo can get you 20-5-5 when he is playing like Mo, JJ gained size and jumping ability and played GREAT all season.
lol ya’ll are hilarious. You make it hating Bron tooo easy.
But I do agree, if bron was playing with Bosh and Wade and John Wall, he would definitely have a good chance at winning a championship!!! WELL, unless they lost in the playoffs… because then Chris Bosh didn’t step up, and Wade wasn’t getting to the right spots for James. Yeah… WE DOT IT. IT’S NOT BRON’S FAULT. lol

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the Balla

No, you’re right D train, the Cavs were terrible this year. I am still surprised they squeaked into the playoffs.

  • playa

All im gunna say is, the cavs gotta get rid of shaq, mo williams, and MIKE BROWN, and Bron will stay. Otherwise I see no point in staying. Imagine how many assists he woulda had last night if his players could catch a ball or make a shot (or in Verejao’s case get a call). If any of them could he also wouldnt have to do everything himself, which forces turnovers. Also, if Mike Brown knew how to call a timeout at the right time, the Cavs wouldnt run up and down the court like a bunch of 10 year old chasing a soccer ball, while Rajon Rondo makes himself look like the best player in the NBA. That was just hideous basketball, except for Bron’s performance. He had a terrible shooting night, yet still scored 27, he outhustled everyone on the floor 19 rebounds, but passed the ball waaaaaaay too much 10 assists-9 turnovers. All Im saying is if everything else didnt go wrong, and one other aspect of the Cavs organization was in place last night, we would be watching an epic game 7, but its too bad there wasnt. Why doesnt anyone on ESPN talk about that, instead of all this trade Bullsh*t. Hes staying

  • The D Train

See James, the difference between me and you is that I can separate my distaste for Lebron from crazy-LBJ-fan-like rants. Your hate for Lebron is as far to the extreme as the cats that ride his sack. Just because a bunch of fans rant on this site about how Kobe or LBJ are the greatest things ever doesn’t change facts. And just because you get ticked at the sh1t they’ve been saying doesn’t have squat to do with how the actual teams are comprised. Lebron shouldn’t get all the credit when they win, and he shouldn’t get all the blame when they lose. They lost to a better TEAM regardless of whether he was the best player in the series or not. Just like last year. Of course it’s Lebron’s fault they lost. Just like it’s Mike Brown’s. Just like it’s Shaq’s. Just like it’s Mo’s. Just like it’s Jamison’s, and so on.

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the Balla

I agree … lol not upset. Laughing at you more than anything. To say they had no one, or no chemistry is just awesome. Makes me glad to be a Lakers fan whether they win or lose!! The ONLY thing the Cavs don’t have is heart. And considering the heart of the team is lebron … what does that say about your boy?

I thought his stat-line last night was totally misleading. I watched the game from start-to-finish and that was the most worthless triple-double I think I’ve ever seen. Talk about no heart, and I agree wholeheartedly, at least in the final 2 games of this series. Unless/until he wins a title he’ll always have the stigma, just like Chaz Barkley, the Mailbox (as my wife calls him) and Ewing. It’s nice to hold over his head, and the heads of Lebron fans, but also should note that there is no way in hell Kobe wins a title with that current Cleveland team.

And its big. lack of intensity, his incomplete game so on.. but do you really believe that all is exclusively pointed to him just so you can seperate him from your guy? What if l.a. didnt win it all this year? would you accept that the teams crashing is solely because of kobe?

  • http://www.slamonline.com James the Balla

D train … you don’t find it funny that; well here, let’s do this:
Lakers before the season – They should have kept Ariza, Artest is too old. And not good defensively any more. Bynum will get injured, the Lakers only have 6 players + Brown. LO is distracted my Khole, Kobe is old and injured, they didn’t make any changes from last year. Derek Fisher isn’t even a shell of his old shelf. The only bright spot is Pau and they will be lucky to get by OKC, and IF they beat OKC, they won’t get past Denver or Dallas and the Spurs may even put them out. And come the finals IF the Lakers make it, the Cavs now have Shaq.
Cavs before the season – Lebron is more hungry than last year. Shaq gets signed after being re-juvinated in PHX and is ready to shut down Dwight And Bynum (which he did). “I’m here to get a ring, for the king”. They are locked in for a finals/championship run. Williams won’t choke this year in the playoffs, he has that experience now. AV becomes a great defensive player and his stopping a lot of 5′s and 4′s in the league. JJ is becoming a solid bench player. Twan gets traded AND they get Z back.. well rested too. And now all the pieces are in place. The depth, the best player, the vets, the length, the defensive stoppers.
Come the playoffs… all we have from “so called” cavs fans is it’s every ones fault except Bron. And on the Lakers side, we have a hurt Kobe, leading his team to the Western Conference finals… take it for what it is but Kobe leads.

Not relax and let the game come to you or leave mo Williams out to dry. His will needs to be examine as the Alpha Dog. I saw Pippen last night looking for too much help, instead of creating help, by driving and dishing. He has immense talent, but a post game and ( he needs to hire Mark Price from ATL to work on his shoot-more form-less muscle. How many superstars have triple doubles and their 60 win team lose only Lebron. The SUN can only shine so long until the GLARE of the MOON pierces the human pride that fuels a RINGLESS King or NOTHINGHAM. Orlando in 5, Lakers in 5. Then LA in 6. BOOK IT!!!

A lot of people up here are critical of LeBron James’s play this series, and rightfully so. He, most likely, is critical on how things played out. But we all have to be honest, he played his ass off the entire Playoffs, he was destroying people. Think about how special this kid is. He goes out there basically by himself (BECAUSE HE REALLY HAS) and carried them (the franchise) through his whole career, truthfully. Now, think about this: What the general mass audience calls a bad game, or bad series, what have you… for the king, put his performance in this year’s Playoffs onto any other player in the world, and the masses go insane. Period. Even if he never wins a ring, he will be THE KING until he retires.

Nah, no sympathy for Lebron. He lost because he didn’t play well in four games. Youc an’t be the King and stink up the joing in four games.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com TADOne

He is going to the Clippers. They deserve each other.

  • Bruno

    yeah truthteller tell’em …

  • The Philosopher

@Allenp: This is what I’m saying. To a lot of people, he really stunk it up. But that’s how good he is. Put his kind of performances on anyone else…but with him he has to go above and beyond because…he is THAT GOOD. He IS the king.

  • BostonBaller

His numbers were great (except the TO’s) but this was not about the numbers. Great players can get their numbers, it all about what some perceived as a lack of effort or heart or something. I for one think his performance and what it looked like had more to do with The Celtics’ defense than anything else. Not one player with the C’s were intimidated by KLBJ or his rep. Point blank we manned up and balled. More players and teams will try to do that next year but he is a Beast and you must beware of the Beast. Green for 18

    BostonBaller
    Great point.
You can have great numbers (Mo Williams had 22 points last night) and still not play well.
i don’t care about Lebron’s stats, i watched the games. He stunk up the joint.
And I agree that the Celtics ability to treat Lebron the same way they treated Kobe, plus the Cavs inability to stop them on defense consistently, was the game changer.

Man no body had a soild man on rondo that’s how they lost. Its been the guard play that won it . It should went too game 7 if they had some body too get on rondo . And game 5 jus lebron having a badd night it happen if u adjust during the game go to what works and stick too it. That team was better it had all types of scoring bench and all and u pull adifferent line up out should stick wit the line up that won u 60 plus . Ok the line up they went with fail for the celtics

As a life long Knicks fan and hopeful that he’d join my troubled franchise, I have to say, Lebron coming to the Knicks would be a dream come true, but a dream non-da-less. IF by some MIRACLE Donnie Walsh can pry Ricky Rubio’s rights away from Minnesota and get him to NY, then MAYBE Lebron considers NYC if he can convince Bosh to come join. But last I check, this is the city that never sleeps, so dreaming is for SUCKERS!!! For real though, Lebron, come save our franchise, dunn!!!

I heard miami has good fishing

  • The Philosopher

BostonBaller makes good points damn near all of the time. And LeBron Still got his with that defense that The Celtics put on him.

  • The D Train

Do I like Lebron? No. Would I be jizz-in-my-pants happy if he signed with Chicago? Absolutely. That being said, I am crap-in-my-pants scared that we’re going to get Ron Mercer’d again. Ugh.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Pardeep

Wade to New York, Bosh and LeBron to Chicago. The Bulls win the championship in 2013.

  • http://www.yahoo.com christian wells

i’m very disappointed lebron didn’t get a shot at a title, like i’ve constantly told my opposers next season…now if he goes 2 chicago i like what they have in place but a nucleus of lbj, rose and noah as ur “big 3″i don’t think that’s enuff because orlando is’nt goin anywhere they should only get better and the best thing about orlando is(after d.howard)their depth chicago would have 2 sign lebron and possibly j.johnson(being realistic i don’t believe they’d b able 2 get their hometown boy d.wade and lebron)or maybe boozer.the l.a. clippers name has been spoken as a possibilty and truthfully 2me that’s the best choice big market bd doom a potential superstar rookie in b.griffin(after being injured his 1st season)a good looking supporting cast and the clips should get a pretty good 1st rnd pick.the lakers would b 1 or 1a in l.a. the nyk look enticing they can sign 2 big time free agents (they’ve gotta keep d.lee though and t-mac who could b huge in a reserve role)and with a young and emerging danny g the only road blocks i see/could arise not deep enough 2 beat (again) a loaded orlando team and the bright lights(the media)which will be even brighter come the postseason.some believe the pressure got2lebron,if so the pressure 2 win in even productive season starved nyc could b another hurdle, however in my professional opinion(not really, only on tv…the tv n my head)it wasn’t pressure that got 2 the king but reality

i fail’d/refused/don’t have time 2read all the comments but of the majority i did read the common consensus was lebron’s play. people he clearly mailed it in and said screw this go through the motions give my c effort and prepare 4 the next season sooner rather than later…i don’t fell as this will b clear enuff, he coulda play’d every game like he play’d game3

Apparently, Delonte west is the reason for Lebrons bad play, if u follow the link above

  • nastierthanu2

Does Lebron have to give back the phantom shaq bought him?

  • hillbilly

@christian wells- If LeBron WOULDA “play’d every game like he play’d game 3″, he’d be preparing for the ECF instead of making vacation plans right about now. In other news…if frogs had wings, they wouldn’t bump their asses when they hop. Post fail’d.

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy’s eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing
“Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!”

One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

again, the team loses and wins as a team. if we do put Pau in there would that guarantee anything? NO! would Phil being on the sidelines will? NO! no matter which players or personnel you put it won’t guarantee a title, but it would give a great chance. what the Cavs had is a great chance. and they blew it. and the BIGGEST part of it was Bron and Mike Brown, and some to others. were not making excuses. why can’t you people accept that? Bron did suck at that series no matter what numbers, so as Mike Brown, Mo, Twan, Parker…. the celtics have their credit in what they have done too. if you say that “Wasn’t this supposed to be a championship team! Wasn’t this supposed to be the year that Shaq got a ring for the “king?” Wasn’t this supposed to be the year lebron finally won a ring and started his dynasty?” crap then you’re the one who’s really an idiot. Lebron has a team which is capable. that doesn’t mean their guaranteed to a championship. and because of the things Lebron is lacking he had his big chunk on this end result. the game is what it is you win or you lose. and there’s a reason why no matter where you fall

  • Jose

KG is right….loyalty hurts…Lebron said stay He would bring a chip to cleveland, to his home, to all of ohio….Someone’s going to New york(most likely to be a #1 option there).Idk who,but someone is…As a MIA fan i wuld hope not wade. but alots in the air right now…Bosh is not stayin,i kno that.STAT will stay or get sign-n-traded. Boozer goin sumwhere….as cool as it wuld be. its hard to see LBJ in Miami.Bosh culd go to chi town.him and noah. …so much to think about…

  • http://609kendalllakedrapt303 Steve

OK ppl lets be real about this whole Lebron leaving the Cavs. I can support this and change everybodies mind. First why leave a franchise where he damn near built that cities rep back up thats number 1. Next you Knicks fans have not seen a championship since Willis Reed back in the 70′s lmao and you Bulls fans have not seen the same since Jordan in 98. So you tell me why he should leave and goes elsewhere and lose all over again. Be for real so called basketball fans. Lebron is the greatest thing since basketball and dont forget Carmelo, my bad and my boy D-Wade3. Fans listen here if you won two MVP titles, went to the Finals your fourth year in the league ( mind you he did that himself with NO BODY) pull a franchise with 60 plus wins tell me why he should leave and its not money.

  • Phil Dailey

as a former player i have read all of these post & staying with a good group of guys is key but if you have all the money plus everything else in the end its “legacy” so look at the RINGS-COUNT….Bill Russell 11, then Big Shot Bob 7 MJ 6 TD & so on yea KOBE got his & maybe once more we all will see, JBL he is very good at this point in his life but what has he won ? Took MJ 7long years to get to the land over the Mountains he climed through the Pistons finally like Magic said when he took it he kept it so if LBJ has the same mental & this is his idol well do just this work harder if you told MJ he can’t do this he would work to prove every-body wrong, but for now its something bigger to do come JULY 1 da waiting game ,after this its put up or shup up, show people your worth…….win IT. Nuff said, oh yea SHAQ Time is running out for U big guy 7’1 335 missing a layUp don’t have the lift any more so talk is good for people thatwant to hear the right things well this summer WORK like U have never WORKED be-FORE then say after the season WE WON .

  • ClydeSays

Cavs will need to rebuild from the ground up. I’d keep Sideshow Bob, Hickson & then look for playmakers & quaility vets.

LBJ is insanely talented, but it seems like he’s being asked to do everything, & it’s too much for hime. Even MJ with his killer instinct had Jax, Pippen & quality role players to lean on when things weren’t going his way.

It’ll be interesting to see where Brown lands & how he does. Defense 1st coaches tend to have a long shelf life…

  • Sweetness

He’ll leave and go to the bulls….well i hope so

  • truthteller

I don’t lebron will leave. I think Delonte West will be gone though!

  • JWIZZ

It’d be so awesome if knicks get first pick, pick john wall and lebron moves to the knicks as well. Yep i’m a hopeful knicks fan.

  • Da Hood

Bron is out, blame Delonte for piping Bronny’s moms out as the reason, sorry Clev. LMAO!!!

  • K

JWIZZ, I hate to break this to you, but the Jazz own the Knicks’ 2010 pick – all we have is two 2nd-round picks (Thanks Isiah!).

  • ai come back

@Da hood fucing delonte west is such a fuced up idiot………..
