Links: Will LeBron Leave?

The Cavs are dunzo. Is LeBron’s time in Cleveland over, too?

by Lang Whitaker

OK, who picked the Cavs to lose in the second round? Not me, and even if you’re a Celts fan, I’m guessing you didn’t expect this either, especially in six games. Congrats to the Celts, because they just plain outplayed, outworked, outcoached and outhustled the Cavs all night. Straight-up.

We’ve got game notes coming shortly, and we can talk about why and how the Celts won. And why the Cavs lost. (For what it’s worth, LeBron finished with 27 points, 19 rebounds, 10 assists, 3 steals…and 9 turnovers.)

But the big story tomorrow and the next few months is going to be the obvious one: What happens to LeBron?

Your guess is as good as mine.

I think he stays.

What do you think?

You people are killing me with all these excuses!!! Wasn’t this suppossed to be a championship team! Wasn’t this suppossed to be the year that Shaq got a ring for the “king?” Wasn’t this suppossed to be the year lebron finally won a ring and started his dynasty? Oh, so what you’re all saying is that this team was overrated? Really? Bunch of idiots!!!

  • The Philosopher

A lot of people up here are critical of LeBron James’s play this series, and rightfully so. He, most likely, is critical on how things played out. But we all have to be honest, he played his ass off the entire Playoffs, he was destroying people. Think about how special this kid is. He goes out there basically by himself (BECAUSE HE REALLY HAS) and carried them (the franchise) through his whole career, truthfully. Now, think about this: What the general mass audience calls a bad game, or bad series, what have you… for the king, put his performance in this year’s Playoffs onto any other player in the world, and the masses go insane. Period. Even if he never wins a ring, he will be THE KING until he retires.

  • http:slamonline.com Allenp

Nah, no sympathy for Lebron. He lost because he didn’t play well in four games. Youc an’t be the King and stink up the joing in four games.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com TADOne

He is going to the Clippers. They deserve each other.

  • Bruno

    yeah truthteller tell’em …

  • The Philosopher

@Allenp: This is what I’m saying. To a lot of people, he really stunk it up. But that’s how good he is. Put his kind of performances on anyone else…but with him he has to go above and beyond because…he is THAT GOOD. He IS the king.

  • BostonBaller

His numbers were great (except the TO’s) but this was not about the numbers. Great players can get their numbers, it all about what some perceived as a lack of effort or heart or something. I for one think his performance and what it looked like had more to do with The Celtics’ defense than anything else. Not one player with the C’s were intimidated by KLBJ or his rep. Point blank we manned up and balled. More players and teams will try to do that next year but he is a Beast and you must beware of the Beast. Green for 18

  • http:slamonline.com Allenp

    BostonBaller
    Great point.
You can have great numbers (Mo Williams had 22 points last night) and still not play well.
i don’t care about Lebron’s stats, i watched the games. He stunk up the joint.
And I agree that the Celtics ability to treat Lebron the same way they treated Kobe, plus the Cavs inability to stop them on defense consistently, was the game changer.

Man no body had a soild man on rondo that’s how they lost. Its been the guard play that won it . It should went too game 7 if they had some body too get on rondo . And game 5 jus lebron having a badd night it happen if u adjust during the game go to what works and stick too it. That team was better it had all types of scoring bench and all and u pull adifferent line up out should stick wit the line up that won u 60 plus . Ok the line up they went with fail for the celtics

As a life long Knicks fan and hopeful that he’d join my troubled franchise, I have to say, Lebron coming to the Knicks would be a dream come true, but a dream non-da-less. IF by some MIRACLE Donnie Walsh can pry Ricky Rubio’s rights away from Minnesota and get him to NY, then MAYBE Lebron considers NYC if he can convince Bosh to come join. But last I check, this is the city that never sleeps, so dreaming is for SUCKERS!!! For real though, Lebron, come save our franchise, dunn!!!

I heard miami has good fishing

  • The Philosopher

BostonBaller makes good points damn near all of the time. And LeBron Still got his with that defense that The Celtics put on him.

  • The D Train

Do I like Lebron? No. Would I be jizz-in-my-pants happy if he signed with Chicago? Absolutely. That being said, I am crap-in-my-pants scared that we’re going to get Ron Mercer’d again. Ugh.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Pardeep

Wade to New York, Bosh and LeBron to Chicago. The Bulls win the championship in 2013.

  • http://www.yahoo.com christian wells

i’m very disappointed lebron didn’t get a shot at a title, like i’ve constantly told my opposers next season…now if he goes 2 chicago i like what they have in place but a nucleus of lbj, rose and noah as ur “big 3″i don’t think that’s enuff because orlando is’nt goin anywhere they should only get better and the best thing about orlando is(after d.howard)their depth chicago would have 2 sign lebron and possibly j.johnson(being realistic i don’t believe they’d b able 2 get their hometown boy d.wade and lebron)or maybe boozer.the l.a. clippers name has been spoken as a possibilty and truthfully 2me that’s the best choice big market bd doom a potential superstar rookie in b.griffin(after being injured his 1st season)a good looking supporting cast and the clips should get a pretty good 1st rnd pick.the lakers would b 1 or 1a in l.a. the nyk look enticing they can sign 2 big time free agents (they’ve gotta keep d.lee though and t-mac who could b huge in a reserve role)and with a young and emerging danny g the only road blocks i see/could arise not deep enough 2 beat (again) a loaded orlando team and the bright lights(the media)which will be even brighter come the postseason.some believe the pressure got2lebron,if so the pressure 2 win in even productive season starved nyc could b another hurdle, however in my professional opinion(not really, only on tv…the tv n my head)it wasn’t pressure that got 2 the king but reality

i fail’d/refused/don’t have time 2read all the comments but of the majority i did read the common consensus was lebron’s play. people he clearly mailed it in and said screw this go through the motions give my c effort and prepare 4 the next season sooner rather than later…i don’t fell as this will b clear enuff, he coulda play’d every game like he play’d game3

Apparently, Delonte west is the reason for Lebrons bad play, if u follow the link above

  • nastierthanu2

Does Lebron have to give back the phantom shaq bought him?

  • hillbilly

@christian wells- If LeBron WOULDA “play’d every game like he play’d game 3″, he’d be preparing for the ECF instead of making vacation plans right about now. In other news…if frogs had wings, they wouldn’t bump their asses when they hop. Post fail’d.

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy’s eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing
“Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!”

One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

again, the team loses and wins as a team. if we do put Pau in there would that guarantee anything? NO! would Phil being on the sidelines will? NO! no matter which players or personnel you put it won’t guarantee a title, but it would give a great chance. what the Cavs had is a great chance. and they blew it. and the BIGGEST part of it was Bron and Mike Brown, and some to others. were not making excuses. why can’t you people accept that? Bron did suck at that series no matter what numbers, so as Mike Brown, Mo, Twan, Parker…. the celtics have their credit in what they have done too. if you say that “Wasn’t this supposed to be a championship team! Wasn’t this supposed to be the year that Shaq got a ring for the “king?” Wasn’t this supposed to be the year lebron finally won a ring and started his dynasty?” crap then you’re the one who’s really an idiot. Lebron has a team which is capable. that doesn’t mean their guaranteed to a championship. and because of the things Lebron is lacking he had his big chunk on this end result. the game is what it is you win or you lose. and there’s a reason why no matter where you fall

  • Jose

KG is right….loyalty hurts…Lebron said stay He would bring a chip to cleveland, to his home, to all of ohio….Someone’s going to New york(most likely to be a #1 option there).Idk who,but someone is…As a MIA fan i wuld hope not wade. but alots in the air right now…Bosh is not stayin,i kno that.STAT will stay or get sign-n-traded. Boozer goin sumwhere….as cool as it wuld be. its hard to see LBJ in Miami.Bosh culd go to chi town.him and noah. …so much to think about…

  • http://609kendalllakedrapt303 Steve

OK ppl lets be real about this whole Lebron leaving the Cavs. I can support this and change everybodies mind. First why leave a franchise where he damn near built that cities rep back up thats number 1. Next you Knicks fans have not seen a championship since Willis Reed back in the 70′s lmao and you Bulls fans have not seen the same since Jordan in 98. So you tell me why he should leave and goes elsewhere and lose all over again. Be for real so called basketball fans. Lebron is the greatest thing since basketball and dont forget Carmelo, my bad and my boy D-Wade3. Fans listen here if you won two MVP titles, went to the Finals your fourth year in the league ( mind you he did that himself with NO BODY) pull a franchise with 60 plus wins tell me why he should leave and its not money.

  • Phil Dailey

as a former player i have read all of these post & staying with a good group of guys is key but if you have all the money plus everything else in the end its “legacy” so look at the RINGS-COUNT….Bill Russell 11, then Big Shot Bob 7 MJ 6 TD & so on yea KOBE got his & maybe once more we all will see, JBL he is very good at this point in his life but what has he won ? Took MJ 7long years to get to the land over the Mountains he climed through the Pistons finally like Magic said when he took it he kept it so if LBJ has the same mental & this is his idol well do just this work harder if you told MJ he can’t do this he would work to prove every-body wrong, but for now its something bigger to do come JULY 1 da waiting game ,after this its put up or shup up, show people your worth…….win IT. Nuff said, oh yea SHAQ Time is running out for U big guy 7’1 335 missing a layUp don’t have the lift any more so talk is good for people thatwant to hear the right things well this summer WORK like U have never WORKED be-FORE then say after the season WE WON .

  • Dre Baller
  • ClydeSays

Cavs will need to rebuild from the ground up. I’d keep Sideshow Bob, Hickson & then look for playmakers & quaility vets.

LBJ is insanely talented, but it seems like he’s being asked to do everything, & it’s too much for hime. Even MJ with his killer instinct had Jax, Pippen & quality role players to lean on when things weren’t going his way.

It’ll be interesting to see where Brown lands & how he does. Defense 1st coaches tend to have a long shelf life…

  • Sweetness

He’ll leave and go to the bulls….well i hope so

  • truthteller

I don’t lebron will leave. I think Delonte West will be gone though!

  • JWIZZ

It’d be so awesome if knicks get first pick, pick john wall and lebron moves to the knicks as well. Yep i’m a hopeful knicks fan.

  • Da Hood

Bron is out, blame Delonte for piping Bronny’s moms out as the reason, sorry Clev. LMAO!!!

  • K

JWIZZ, I hate to break this to you, but the Jazz own the Knicks’ 2010 pick – all we have is two 2nd-round picks (Thanks Isiah!).

  • ai come back

@Da hood fucing delonte west is such a fuced up idiot………..
