Lady Gaga Presents…

‘Heartbeats’ from Beats by Dre.

by Konate Primusb1_large

If you are a star ball player or a important bench player or just the dude in charge of making sure the bench works properly, preparation is key. You need to get focused so you can be a contributor in any shape or fashion, whether it’s dropping 28 a night like LeBron or going in and flopping and instigating like Andy Varejao.

Whatever the task may be, your mind has to be ready for that night’s work. A great amount of athletes use personal music players to get into the zone. iPods, Zunes, Sony Walkmans, whatever device you choose, they all need headphones to be fully functional — headphones that give you every drop of sound so you can feel the artist’s emotions! Not just heavy on the bass or high on the treble but a equal amount of distribution for all sounds intended by its composer.

Super big headphones have become trendy in the last year or two thanks to the likes of Beats by Dre and Skullcandy. I’ve personally become a fan of bigger headphones because of the sound quality and comfort they possess, but now Beats has managed to fit similar big sound into the smaller more compact heartbeats in-ear, designed by Lady Gaga. Not comparable to Apple’s $40 crappy earbuds and those colorful Skullcandys that sound like nails on a chalkboard.

To be honest, after a few listens they give my Bose earbuds a good run for their money. Kevin Lee, VP of Monster’s marketing and product development, says, “Monster has always been authentic in what we do. Beats by Dre is no exception. Beats delivers on the promise of a better music experience.” You can’t really argue with the in-studio sound without the huge bulk and a unique Gaga-ish style that’s suitable for both male and female. Its style is Lady Gaga and the sound is Dr. Dre. The only thing one could dare to argue is the price point, but we all know how the saying goes: You get what you pay for!

There are three different packages available.

The basic model available in all three colors (metallicized black red and silver) without “Control Talk” (an advance on cable feature that provides users with full control of their listening experience when using the 3G iPhone, iPod or other new iPods and portable music devices). The Control Talk cable features a high grade mic and answer button so you can be hands free when using the phone. For $119.95, available now, exclusively at Best Buy for pre-order. In stores on the 18th.

Then we have the basic model with Control Talk only available in black on black for $149.95, coming late October. And last but not least, the Haute Couture Ultra High Def headphones with Control Talk available in rose red just in time for the holidays at a hefty $179.95.

Oh hell no.Besides those ear nub heaphones have been making my ears hurt for years.Just buy a big pair of good ones with good sound.

I’d get them for 10 dollars. 180 is waaayy more than I’d be willing to pay for earbuds…

skullcandy earbuds - $12 these-$180. The choice is simple. No slight difference in sound quality is worth $168 more.

Earbuds are wack and only good for convenience in carrying. “High-quality” ones that are supposed to drown out outside noise actually end up hurting your ears. “High-quality” big headphones that you wear feel like earmuffs, drown out the sound around you and end up feeling like anvils on your ears–they’re too heavy. My solution? Those cheap, old-fashioned $10 headphones that you got with your Sony or Panasonic CD players. In my opinion, anyways.

Although, nice job Konate. And those earbuds do look kind of cool.

Sennheiser all the way. Oh, and gaga is a hermaprodite, true story…

  • Well i will be boosting these on the 18th. Best Buy you’ve been warned.

Its easy to ignore what you don’t know is there. But once your every decibal of sound put into a song its a long rough way back to 12 dollar headphones

  • konate Posted: Oct.9 at 7:34 am
Does lady gaga remind anyone else of the grace jones character in boomerang?

  • Azhar Posted: Oct.9 at 10:18 am
Why would anyone want to buy these when you can get excellent Ultimate Ears, Shure or even some low level Etymotics at the same price??
