A lot of people assumed he was staying, committed to the program, his growth as a player. Is he?
Read the SLAMonline Discussion Rules before posting.
Is Derrick Rose,Beasely or Gordon committed to all those things?
KLove took those suckers at UCLA for a riiiiiiide.
Welcome to the NBA bench rotation, Kev.
KLove should really head to the NBA already. Guys good enough to make millions, I’d say let him.
Best Bruin since Ed O’Bannon.
2nd round. Washing cars in +2 years.
lol @ ill will
it’ll be a mistake
Go for it!
Work the Slim Fast game before October rolls around, Kevin.
Welcome to the D League, Kevin.
He’ll be picked top 20, and in 5 years he’ll be a starter.
Hey, if JR Smith can do it, so can KLove.
Is our children learning?
Kevin Love = Josh McRoberts 2.0
i know he’s big, so he’s got some strength, but he does looks like he’s not packing much muscle, i think he should add some during the offseason, come back next yr and really dominate and raise his status in the draft next yr.
Come on guys…didn’t you know he’s the greatest outlet passer in the history of organized basketball? Surely he’s bound for superstardom in the NBA!
He’ll win the full-court shot contest at All-Star weekend.
Wow, the stupid people came out in force today!
Whoever Wrote This: Is that you, Rubenstein? Will you write such a leading intro when Beasley announces?
Cap’n Crunch: Bet me. PLEASE bet me.
What: Coincidentally, they’re both white! Nice work!
Just so I’m clear, what is it about 18 and 11 as a freshman that makes everyone think he’s gonna suck?
Anyone? Anyone at all?
I was baiting Ryan… of which I am a master.
For the record, I’m with Jones on this one.
I’ll bite Ryan although I’m pro-Love.Main reasons people don’t seem to like him:(1)He seems pudgee and unathletic-these people need to be entertained.(2)He’s white,(3)It’s obvious he’s been getting more p*ssy at UCLA than you can shake a stick at,well a p*ssy stick anyway(4)People are stupid.
KLove = Josh McRoberts 2.0? I honestly laughed at that.
KLove can actually ball. He’s not the most athletic, that’s for sure, but that guy in the right system can really flourish. McRoberts has never, and will never be the playa playa KLove is and will become. I can see him being a starter for the most part of his career. Dude is going to need to lose a bit of weight though. KLove for NBA Most Improved Player in 2013.
I think Kev Love X already looks a little slimmer than when the s4eason starts. I wouldn’t be mad if the Spurs picked him in the late 1st round. I think he’ll have a better career than Hansborough.
the guy is athletic, but he could seriously dominate with some more strength training to add power, if i were him i’d declare also since I wouldn’t want to lose the opportuniy, but i think best case scenario for him is to stay, improve, dominate, go sure top 3 next yr.
Yes, Sam. You’re very good at baiting. (Waits for it…)
Anyway, I’m sure izzo’s right. Other than cats like the good Captain, who long ago confirmed their complete lack of judgment (and do so in a way that implies they can’t possibly be serious, and might also be Sam in disguise, but I’ll play along anyway), I am truly and seriously waiting for someone to explain what’s so wrong with Kevin Love’s game. The fact that people who spend a lot of time thinking about and watching basketball, as most posters here theoretically do, are so down on him is mind-boggling to me. There, again, my mind just boggled.
iLL, you already gave that comparison too much credit. Basketball-wise, those two have NOTHING in common.
He wont go Top 3, no matter how long he waits. McRoberts aint as bad as yall say, shoulda stayed at Duke though, he’ll probably emerge as a Brad Miller type in a couple years if he continues working.
I don’t like to talk about players before they hit the league (Official Adam Morrisson bandwagon jumper), so I have to sit on the fence with ‘Big Kev’ Love. He has the solid game that so many of these ‘freak’ athletes lack, but maybe he will just be another big body taking up space in the league. But then, who thought Carlos Boozer was gonna turn into a BEAST…Plus Kev can shoot some…lets me positive, a star on the rise!
I’m one of the few who still haven’t given up on Morrison.
I’d bet you rhine bones but u got nutin
He needs to wait at least 1, if not 2, more years. My D-League comment was not hating on his game as much as hating on his lack of conditioning. Dude cannot play more than 5 minutes without getting winded. I saw live against Michigan earlier this year, and they literally had to pull him out of the game every 3-5 minutes for breathers because he was winded and couldn’t keep up. Imagine what NBA players will do to him.
KLove is as athletic as a fat pig in a beer barrel.
*I saw HIM live
Putting him in the D-League is bullsh*t,he could probably grab 6-7 rebounds in the NBA now.
I understand that izzo, but imagine what he could do if he was in shape.
We are to assume then that Ryan has Kevin’s ball size embedded onto his proverbial chin. Jones, what say you?
TAD is smart.
Eboy is mis-guided.
izzo is a mis-creant. Yes, izzo, you and your Irish co-conspiritor, can continue to believe that Kevin will compete succesfully with guys like Boozer, Duncan, Howard, Gasol, KG, etc? Yes, you’re right, I’m misguided.
This is like dealing with my students all over again: A handful of smart kids in a room full of idiots. I get more intelligent conversation from my 3-year-old.
The good news, though, is that I now know C.A. is joking. Because he literally cannot be serious. That’s a load off my mind. Bye Sam!
Sorry about the extra comma.
It’s easier to get in shape than it is to learn how to play basketball. It’s not like he’s Michael Sweetney.
Ryan: Did your three-year-old announce yet?
Good to know that Jone’s incredible wisdom still hasn’t permiated his students minds as the end of the school year nears.
What’s so different between Boozer and Love, both have similar bodies,Love is actually taller. He’ll obviously need development like just about every rookie in the history of the universe,to call him a bust before he gets a chance to prove himself is stupid.Even if I turn out to be wrong in this one,I’ll be right because of the lack of an argument by the haters of Love.
*All puns are unintentional.
I agree with Russ’s 3:16p comment, but still, his conditioning will be the difference between him being decent coming off someone’s bench or coming in as a solid contributor, possibly starting somewhere.
The Heat should draft Gebre Selassie because he’s really fit.
I’ll take K. Love on the Bulls in a heartbeat.
So guys, does Love’s skills alone make him a lottery pick?
Tom Boerwinkle 3000
Well, I’m sure whatever team drafts him will have a fun time doing promotional work with his last name.
“Don’t you just love Love? Vote Kevin Love for ROY”
actually, I’m not sure now..
Tyler Hansb is gonna get owned in the League. Love his tenacity, but Kevin Love he’s not.
Psycho T to the Knicks!!
F*ck Kevin Love, and F*ck UCLA…….go warriors!!
if u wanna see som action IS8 tournament 2morrow night. lance stephenson aim me at
Is he a legit 6’10″? If so, big body + good rebounder + high bball IQ = good player in my eyes.
@Maio…. baron davis much?
izzo, if i remember correctly, Boozer was more muscular than Love in college, he always had that stocky frame, but actually had muscle on him, i don’t think Love lifts weights at all, he probably just does basketball workouts, but definitely agree with russ that its easier to get in shape. He’ll be a solid pro at least, if he shapes up he can be a star
I don’t want to judge his skill level, because I’ve only watched him play one game last week, but I was really shocked to see how flabby he is. Is there a specific reason why he’s not in shape? Was he hurt before the season?
Ok, I’ll pop back into the convo now. LOTS of talk about how out of shape this kid is. Can we real quick discuss the difference between “muscular” and “defined”? Dude’s NOT flabby, and he’s NOT soft. He’s not particularly defined, but he is strong as sh*t. Does anybody really think you could averaged 12 rpg in a very good college conference being soft and flabby? Really?
It will come down to Kevin Loves BASKETBALL IQ. A fair B- I think is fitting. He understands a set-up offense. He’s got size, which you can’t teach (if Chris Dudley could have a full NBA career this kid can…) and I am sure, as any big man in college the key word is POTENTIAL. He’s got it in spades. PREDICTION: He’ll eentually establish himself as a top 10 centre/forward at the height of his solid 13 year career.
go for it kevin love.
I think he (or his dad) figure he’s got time to get stronger and just doesn’t want to stunt his growth right now, or he may just be the type of kid that can’t ever stay at the weight room of the gym because he always sneaks off to the basketball court..
niQ, your comment got a good chuckle out of me.
Ryan: Okay, maybe he’s not flabby, that might be my foreigner english. But I was certainly expecting him to look more “defined” as you say or athletic, since he’s such a highly touted prospect and on one of the biggest college teams. And the common conclusion when a player looks like that is that he either did not put in the work or that he’s a natural fatty who won’t ever be able to keep the weight off. So you’re saying neither applies here and all will be fine in Loveland?
clearly bakers dozen wasnt watching the nuggets/warriors game tonight
KLove should wait little bit bruv.
love will be the white version of elton brand
who is that? (Im sorry ucla fans)
