Kenny George Had Part Of Foot Amputated

The 7-7 UNC Asheville center underwent several surgeries at one time to fight a severe staph infection. Part of his right foot was amputated three weeks ago, and his coach hinted George’s playing career could be over.

    Ahem, Dajuan. And sucks (in fact, really sucks) for George, but it wasn’t like he would’ve earned millions playing the game. Think I’ve seen enough to say his body wasn’t gonna hold up. Muresan was athletic compared to him.

    The weird thing is there seems to be no other reports or anyone else having it. It says its transmitted through skin to skin contact, you’d think someone else at the camp would have it and it doesnt sound like something you can keep quiet.

    I get the jokes,but on a serious tip, this is just really sad. I hope that UNCAsh hooks him up with a job at the program or something. Kenny seems like a genuinely nice dude, who had a big impact on the court last season.

    a little off topic.. but is it me? or is everyone in the nba getting hurt in pre-season??? off the top of my head d-williams,Nash,amare,james jones, brenden haywood,ant.jamison, Arenas still out,jamaal magloire, mcgrady isnt 100%… etc.etc.etc. ???

    I feel very bad for him because he as a man obviously affected with a pituitary condition would have benefited greatly from having a couple of years in the NBA to pay for a lifetime of medical assistance. Get well big man.

    I went to UNCA with Kenny but graduated this past May. I am really out of the loop b/c I just found out YESTERDAY that this happened. I’m so upset. He’s such a sweet guy and he’s already had a lot of unluck the last few years with his health. I hate it for him. Hopefully they can figure out a way to help him so he can play again….people do marathon races with two fake legs. There has to be something that can be done with a foot. All the technology these days!
