Ronald Steele Ends Injury-Plagued Career

The two-time Alabama Mr. Basketball and promising point guard announced he would forgo the rest of the 2008-09 season, thus effectively ending his basketball career. He had been suffering from plantar fasciitis.

    I played against him a couple of times at the Uni Rec Centre in Alabama. He had a real sweet handle and reminded me of Skip in a lot of ways. It’s a shame…

    The Tuscaloosa paper today is reporting there’s more to it — seems Mr. Steele wasn’t happy with certain “decisions,” whatever that means. So maybe he’s not done. Worth keeping an eye on.
