“Placid.” “Low-key.” “Heart-pleasing.”

Those are the words we used to describe Dwyane Wade just months before the 2003 NBA Draft. Wade’s gone through a lot since his triple-double in the NCAA Elite Eight, but you can bet he’s still the same guy—bringing the entire package both on and off the court.—Ryne Nelson

Remember the day vividly. Knew he’d be good, but THIS good? No way.

“Hated.” “Alone.” “Marijuana sex parties.” The words to now describe D-Wade.

Wade was unreal at marqutte, my fav playuer in the tourney that year by far.
The phrase “Marijuana sex party” is extremely misleading. That just sounds like a party to me. What is this, a 1950′s propaganda film?

I remember that following that rookie Heat season, and thinking “well, Caron is the star-in-training, Wade should be a good role player”…then that first playoff run completely blew my mind.

What is he doing on the 2nd floor running track with a basket ball?

Awesome player. I always liked how he wasn’t as hyped as some players, he just let his game do the talking.

i remember the article from years ago. most impressive i find the lines about his trainig routine, going up and down the court dribbling and finishing with a dunk. how about teaming wade up with d12, after turk will be gone…
