No fu(king way….did I miss a Bob Huggins comeback to Cinci?

It’s like when Lamar committed to UNLV. Look for Lance to wind up at Rhode Island.

  • http://slamonline.com Brad Long

Russ, I’m hoping he ends up somewhere even more obscure.

Like Centenary College in Shreveport, La. I need something to write about. They’ve got a great student section!

Dude, Lance Stephenson is going to Europe midway through his first NCAA season. Just because.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

Also, is this kid really any good? I’m hoping he is, but can he compare to OJ Mayo and the like? I don’t know much about him, other than he’s from New York.

Teddy:From what I’ve seen he’s probably not as polished as OJ but Lance seems to be a lot more athletic. Probably doesn’t have the jumper OJ has but the handles are there and his court vision looks pretty damn good.

He’s as athletic as any recruit and is a manchild. Unselfish player but poor body language and attitude when his team is losing. Could turn around Cinci though.

Crazy that more rumors than Page 6 and a perez hilton blog (kansas, sju, and arizona were all supposed to take this kid)didn’t pan out.

I always thought it was Huggins that attracted the troublemakers, when in actuality it is the Cincinnati program!

Why would he hold out this long just to go to Cincinnati? Something doesn’t seem right. You don’t hold out this long to commit to a school that is “off the reservation”. I can see him wanting to go there and be the man, and not share the spotlight with anyone else. But Cincinnati? Wasn’t he hot for Kansas? How do you go from Kansas to Cinci. Someone check his driveway….I see an SUV registered to Bob Huggins somehere

I think Lance will be a good player in college.. We just have to see if he can play team ball.. Plus Cinncy is good for him because Conference USA is garbage compared to the other major conferences, there won’t be that much press on him…

  • Ny Player

schools didnt want 2 mess with him, cause is dad stretch is half crazy and all about the money. Ask Tiny

  • Welcome to 2009

Cincinnati is in the Big East.

I’m not mad at this choice at all. Watch for him to make a Tyreke Evans-like march back up people’s rankings by the time we get to next June.

  • Quail

no other places would take him. hes not a good locker room presence.

  • Jedi knight

I’m confused he waited all this time to commit to cincy, what happen to kansas and florida International? I believe he has some academic chanllenges something going on in cincy behind the door thats not on paper. He realize he could not keep up with the book work in those other schools this is not to say he’s not a good player but HS has that STUPID ASS rule of no child left behind so kids get push though classes without learning Sugar Honey Ice Tea

He’s never really impressed me. He’s quick, but he’s not that quick. He can score, but is he really a big time scorer?

NYC can hype a player up. He might do good at UC. Going to Europe would be an eye opener for him. I dont know, I’m not sold. He doesnt seem like the type of player who would really be worth all this trouble when you really watch him play. That OJ Mayo clip when he was a freshman has gone a long way into making him a stud, but I cant really say he’s gotten better since then

Korleone Young. He reminds me a lot of him! He’s built strong and can dominate on the high school level, but when you really looked at his game, you could see that he would’nt be a strong college player or NBA player. Lance Stephenson reminds me Korleone Young

It’s amazing how many haters come out when something positive happens for the UC Bearcats. Then on top of that they cheer when we’re down, explode in laughter. Guess what guys? UC is here to stay for good! We thank Bob for what he established at UC, I love hime to death but the university is what i’m most loyal to.

  • 9mil

all i know is, is that lance stevenson, deonta vaughn, and yancy gates go put uc pack on the map for years to come. plus in 2011 the best player sice lebron to come out of ohio is Chane Behanan who commited uc as a fresman
