Confiscated: LeBron Facial Video

So much for a Slamadayear… Xavier sophomore Jordan Crawford dunked on LeBron James with two hands Monday night, but all tapes of the smash were soon confiscated. There’s a good chance the public will never see it: “Turns out, there were at least two cameras rolling Monday night when Crawford dunked on James during a pick-up game here at the LeBron James Skills Academy. It was a two-handed jam, the kind that would’ve circulated quickly on YouTube. But Nike officials eliminated that possibility shortly after the dunk happened by allegedly confiscating tapes from various cameramen.”

What are they gonna do next, choreograph all Lebron games like the Globetrotters?

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

Is Wade a b!tcha– as well, then? He didn’t shake hands after the Heat got tossed. Why wasn’t that a story? Is it a coincidence that the ones highlighting those ‘incidents’ are always Lakers fans? (myles, b. long, the seed, james the balla, etc) again, holla at me when lebron gets accused, arrested or is ordered to show up in a court of law. (like many of his fellow all-stars, wade, kobe and melo included)

A representative with Nike, which runs the camp at the University of Akron in James’ hometown, made no mention of Crawford’s dunk. He said the tapes were confiscated because videotaping of after-hours pickup games at the camp is not allowed.

“Nike has been operating basketball camps for the benefit of young athletes for decades and has long-standing policies as to what events are open and closed to media coverage. Unfortunately, for the first time in four years, two journalists did not respect our no videotaping policy at an after-hours pickup game following the LeBron James Skills Academy,” said Nike spokesman Derek Kent on Wednesday.

While it is true that the PR rep seems to be putting a spin on the story. It is true that I have NEVER seen any footage of the pickup games at his camp. It could be possible that they didn’t have any right to film the scrimmage. Dunk or no dunk.

  • Prison Mike

    Well, all is forgiven then.

  • JoeMaMa

    D12FSU makes a great point.
Who really cares about getting dunked on in a pick up game? Obviously I’d love to see it….but!! COURTNEY LEE DUNKED ON HIM TWICE. In the playoffs, on live, national TV. That was so, so….so good.
    Witness!

  • tom

fck nike. i bet lebron wouldnt care if the tapes were released.

wow i’m losing respect for the guy.

  • Dillan

It was a pickup game….devin harris

  • Prison Mike

Well, apparently LeBron and/or Nike really care. Normally I wouldn’t, but since it is being covered up, I am curious. It must have been pretty sick.

nike’s ‘media policy’ is pure bs. matter of fact, we had footage on this here site a while back featuring lebron and cp3 at the skills academy. of course, now the link is dead. the plot thickens, dun dun dun!

^Did you read that, Z? Your obviously new around here so let me learn ya on a couple of things.
1.My name ain’t dick so keep it out ya mouth.
2.Just because I’m a Lakers fan doesn’t mean that I hate LeBron, I love watching him play, but just like some dumb sh!t Kobe, DWade, and others have done in the past pisses me off so does this. As big of a Laker fan as I am I’ll be the first to admit that Kobe has acted like a b!tch several times in the past and if you can’t see how LeBron is being one now there is possibly no hope for you.

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

I have been here since the Links were a daily thing, the site was gray-ish and the comments section didnt exist. But you know that.
    1. Funny. Cute, even. I don’t e-beef, I’m a grown a– man.
    2. This is the first time I’m hearing something positive about LeBron coming from you. Honest. I’m still waiting for some confirmation that Bron had anything to do with this. Oh well, I guess that looking for tangible facts is kinda hopeless.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

@ Z: LeBron should come on down to West 6th Street.

  • Mr.2012

    FREE THOSE TAPES!!!

  • http://yahoo.com looman40

ha this made my day. now we can make fun of lebron, cause i dont like him. thats awesome that he got dunked on, and someone should call him out on it(charles barkley) and let everyone see it, i mean honestly, what a pusy. next jordan? haha ya right

  • Tredders

LeBron shows again what a great role model he is! This is a joke. He should be aware that millions of people look up to him across the world, and actions like these and not shaking the Magic players hands after being beaten in ECF imprints on kids all over showing them that “oh, if we wanna be like LeBron, we gotta do this” Man up LeBron

  • Logan

By not showing the dunk the status of that dunk changes from ‘good’ to ‘god know how amazing it was’. This is really weak by Lebron and Nike. I have been in media for years and of a particular event is not supposed to be filmed, you are not even allowed to get cameras in, let alone shoot the whole thing before being told not to film and confisticating the tape is staight up media control. Everyone gets dunked on if you play defense. Sometimes you get crossed over. The best response is to get em back in the game, not act like a backyard bully. Very dissapointed. Lebron, you gotta come back strong and man up.

    Queen LeBroom … LOW CLASS

  • ngoiekafita

Is it Bron himself who asked for the tape to get confiscated? Or Nike?
Either way, I don’t think Bron wouldn’t mind a kid catching some shine by dunking on him.
(i bet he def wouldn’t mind to return him the favor when giving the chance)
People tend to forget that superstars live under a microscope and we’re the eager scientists.
    He’s

  • ngoiekafita

just a human who just happens to make a lil’ bit more cash than us (ok, a lot more)
Besides even Shaq, Dwight, The Admiral and Mike got dunked on.
If you play some good help D, $hit like that might happen.
That bein said: Bron, in the word of Sticky Fingaz: MAN UP and show young Jordan Crawford wy he’s just a witness and he might end up on the wrong side of a poster!!!

  • http://www.triplejunearthed.com/dacre Dacre

    Hmmm..LeBron just lost some cred.

  • FrenchKiss

Jordan Crawford should get a “Check my fa¢ial” tee.

  • Esco

    @ FrenchKiss: Pause.

  • FrenchKiss

@Esco: Yeah with a nice drippy font.

  • Esco

Lol. To the Pause Police: “Officer, arrest this man.”

Mutoni said what I was going to say already about the CP3 and LeBron pick-up game tape. What LeBron or Nike wants to do is their business. I do feel though like taking the tapes says more on Nike and/or LeBron’s part than showing the footage, especially since it’s been proven that the statement about Nike and filming pick-up games is false. Much more.

Still don’t know is LeBron had anything to do with it people…c’mon now.

  • http://www.slamonline.com wayno

People who have seen my posts know I’m anything but a LeBron apologist, but seriously people, this isn’t that big of a deal. If LeBron had something to do with it it was a b!tch move, but none the less, a non-issue. All we know is that nike took the tapes though! There is nothing there to suggest LeBron’s involvment.

  • Fat Lever

The intersting thing is, ok if they’re not allowed to film pickup games, then why were the tapes confiscated as soon as the dunk happened? I’m pretty sure if they weren’t allowed to film pickup games, there had to have been on the court action prior to the dunk, and it can’t be that hard to see 2, TWO!, guys filming what’s happening on the court. So, if there’s a good minimum 5-10 mins of action prior to the dunk, then we know that excuse by the rep is BS.

  • http://nbacheapseats.blogspot.com Chendaddy

Well now you gotta show it. The only thing more embarrassing than an NBA superstar getting dunked on by a high school kid is everyone finding out the superstar’s people were so embarrassed, they confiscated all the tapes. I’m starting to think LeBron has a fragile ego. That same year he dunked on Tim Duncan and glared at him, a few games later, Sean May dunked on him, then glared at him on the ground. Did he do anything? Nope. Come on, LeBron, even Andrew Bynum had the grapes to dish it back out when he got dunked on, and he got dunked on by SHAQ.

  • http://nbacheapseats.blogspot.com Chendaddy

    Uh, my comment got confiscated.

someone needs to put this on a t-shirt

Why are people trying to figure out whether Nike is telling the truth?
    It’s Nike.
    Lying is their business.

  • Mykaveli21

Damage Control: Objective #1– Show the Tape! You saw what a tape did for Kim Kardashian! Give the young boy some shine! Hard to tell im a LBJ fan but Im fed up!

  • tavoris

Nike is giving Lebron the same treatment they gave MJ during his career.

  • you already know.

did it Cortney Lee dunk on Lebron in the Playoff?

  • you already know.

Lebron is really ego trippin right now.

i love how nike makes up that crap about not being able to tape afterwards pick up games, but they wouldve never said anything or took the tapes until james got dunked on

    @Russ….:the 1:30pm comment was REALLY good…

  • BostonBaller

The dunk probably wasn’t that bad but James is probably thinking that a non NBA player can’t get a rep off of him. It’s crazy but maybe he thinks he is really a KING and this whole Witniss thing is getting out of hand. Don’t blame Nike, they were just following orders from their cash cow. Jordan didn’t care that one of the old men in his camp a few years ago beat him on film. It was shown all over the place although the guy wouldn’t accept a rematch b/c he knew Jordan would really play hard the 2nd time.

  • http://and1.com styliztik_jones

This is bogus by LeBroom….his new nickname should officially be “The Confiscator”

  • glaze

Lebron’s really starting to show his true colors. He has no problem clowning , dancing, and having fun at other players expense. But as we all saw in the playoffs. He can’t take it when the shoe is on the other foot. When he’s hitting halfcourt shots he’s looking for the closet camera. Lose in the playoffs and he’s the first out the door. Now he doesn’t wanna be in filmed getting dunk. B×tch move. WITNESS that

  • glaze

Lebron just got demoted to royal jester
