Jamine “Greedy” Peterson Signs in Greece
by Ben Osborne
Having broken the news that Jamine “Greedy” Peterson was leaving Providence and heading overseas (sort of; the version we heard varied slightly from what Providence put out), we wanted to follow up today with the official word on where he’s headed.
From a JSM Management press release:
“Providence College Junior Jamine Peterson will pursue his basketball career in the international basketball arena. After consultation with his family and advisors Jamine chose to bypass his remaining two years of eligibility at Providence College to sign a one-year contract with the Rhodes Club of the Greek League. The contract terms for his inaugural year in the international league were undisclosed. Jamine averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds a game for Providence College last year where he led the team in scoring, rebounding and minutes played.
‘My game is multifaceted—scoring, rebounding and defending—whatever I am called on to do for my team. I welcome the challenge the international league brings and The Rhodes Club will see a player focused, determined and ready to step in and contribute right away. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my family and advisors for their support.’”
Jamine is from Brooklyn and is a fun player to watch; we’ll be rooting for him…
