Report: Sidiki Johnson To Transfer To Providence

Former Arizona Wildcat Sidiki Johnson has some academic question marks, but Five-Star Basketball is reporting that Providence is taking a shot at the 6-9 power forward and former top-100 recruit: “Five-Star Basketball has learned that the former 6-9 Arizona Wildcats freshman power forward Sidiki Johnson – who announced that he would transfer in December – has officially found a spot to land. Providence College – who already has commitments from Five-Star guards Ricardo Ledo and Kris Dunn, along with sharp-shooter Josh Fortune – is where Johnson will make his presence felt next year. ‘It’s a good fit because it’s closer to home,” stated Johnson. “Coach Cooley is a real good guy and I like the way he’s rebuilding the program up there.’”

Hope Sidiki learns a good work ethic at Providence he was lacking this at Arizona or otherwise he would have been seeing plenty of playing time. Hope the change of scenery does him good and we wish him luck.

Providence has been playing good basketball……anyways man another one bites the dust huh??? I’ve stopped counting how many Top 150 freshmen have been sitting out, suspended, transferred etc. over academic ineligibility. So many of the guys I wanted to see perform aren’t even playing right now…kinda dampens my mood on things. I think the whole 1-year mandatory has gotten some of these top prospects in the mindset that college is just some kind of 1 year pergatory before they can get to the league. And unfortunately this is what they are being sold by these coaches and recruiters- that their program will best prepare them for the NBA *cough* Calipari *cough*. Anyways the NCAA has suspended Friar freshman Kiwi Gardner indefinitely (tbh I still don’t know why)….would’ve been nice to see these two in the chamber for that squad….could make some noise once again in the Big East once the conference clears out

This kid can be really REALLY good if he works hard on his all-round game and adittude. If Dunn and Ledo come in ready to play Providence will be a top 25 team by January

Have fun with him. While he was out here at Zona he was a complete distraction. No loss for the Wildcats, Chol works harder and is a better player.

$100 says he steals the shoes of his roommate while he’s playing for Providence too. Tigers don’t change their stripes.
