Photos: adidas Unveils Ultra-Lightweight NCAA Uniforms

Baylor, Louisville and Cincinnati to wear new jerseys for March Madness.

It’s officially March, and less than a week away from Selection Sunday, which means college basketball is about to be front and center in the basketball world for the next few weeks. With that in mind, adidas today unveiled new, ultra-lightweight adizero uniforms for three schools—Baylor, Cincinnati and Louisville. Not only are the jerseys uniforms are on average 28 percent lighter than what the teams normally rock, but as you can see, they are colorful and loud. You’ll know when you see these teams coming, and adidas cites the “high intensity of March Madness” as the inspiration for the amplified school colorways. See these in action for the first time starting this week during the Big East and Big 12 Conference tournaments. Really? with the zubaz shorts? Smh. Ugly

These are all terrible. Adidas needs to stop making uniforms, period. This year’s All-Star unis were awful.

I’m feeling them. Also want to see what they look like with #s on the front. I like ‘Nati’s the best. Baylor’s looks a bit off because it’s so bright, yet plain in the middle. They need the numbers on to help out.

Also smart for production and advertising for Adidas to continue with the ‘lightweight’ theme. Though limited, it’s still a slight functional advantage, and with how competitive the game has become, all top athletes do what it takes to get an edge.

adidas should probably be firing a couple people about now, its 2012 and this is what they come up with LMAO

the three stripes brand proofed to be crap once more.
I dont get the non matching pants and the overall design is plain bad.
Like brad09 says its 2012 cant we just ban the three stripes brand from producing anything.

Zubaz shorts. The warm ups aren’t pictured but they’re actually light denim Z. Cavaricci’s and Member’s Only zip ups.

That’s great news! My uniforms have been weighing me down quite a bit. I have to imagine the weight must be even more crippling for the world’s best “amateur” athletes.

    LMAO!!@Diesel! Dude! a Z Cavaricci’s reference?! That’s HILARIOUS!! LOVE IT!

  • billg

wait do they not even have numbers in the front?!

  • LA Huey

How much lighter, are these companys trying to get? I wouldnt be surprised if I see people down the line are balling in wife beaters and speedos.

All this day-glo crap needs to go away. Far, far away. I was watching UofL in the Big East Tourney and one of the announcers said that Louisville’s players looked like a bunch of oversized traffic cones. Straight up hideous, indeed.

Dude from L’Ville looks like he’s had his head photo-shopped on. Cinci jersey’s look pretty cool though.
