Photos: Stanford Defeats Minnesota In NIT Championship Game

Amidst all of the excitement and pandemonium that accompanies Final Four weekend, it’s easy to forget that there’s another high-caliber college basketball tournament being played. Namely, the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). And last night, the Stanford Cardinal and Minnesota Golden Gophers faced off at Madison Square Garden for the NIT Championship. Both teams got off to a strong start, but Stanford turned up the defensive pressure, forcing 22 turnovers en route to a convincing 75-51 victory (you can check out the AP‘s full recap for more details).
