UCLA to Use Larry Drew II and Kyle Anderson In Same Lineup

UCLA Coach Ben Howland has recently been playing point guards Larry Drew II and Kyle Anderson in the same lineup, and is very excited about the prospects of them sharing the floor. Anderson is a 6-8 PG from St. Anthony (NJ), while Drew II transferred from North Carolina midway through his junior year. Via SportingNews.com: “Howland has been adamant in his support of North Carolina transfer Larry Drew, who struggled in a season-and-a-half as the Tar Heels’ starter. His record as the team’s point guard of record: 32-22. The Heels’ record since: 49-9. This is why Howland said, ‘Larry’s got something to prove. He’s got a lot of doubters out there after the way things went.’ But Howland has been pleased with what he has seen, enough so that instead of installing 6-8 McDonald’s All-American Kyle Anderson at the point, he has been playing the two together in the same lineups. ‘It’s really fun to watch,’ Howland said. ‘They’re two guys that can pass, that like to pass, and can really see the floor. Offensively, those two guys together are going to do well when they’re in.’”

And this is why UCLA is not going to succeed. Not because of Larry Drew II, but because Ben Howland is their coach.
