As told to Justin Walsh
It’s that time again SLAM!
My Wednesday started off pretty early, went to ESPN at 8:30 where we had a forum topic of basically everything off the record (That means it’s top secret like 007, sorry fans), just a pretty straightforward time where they gave us advice and whatnot. Then we had lunch with a few ESPN dudes, had some more interviews. That’s kind of the way this week is—interviews and good times.
When we finally got back to the hotel, all the players met up in the lobby. We played video games with some people, had a bit of fun with that.
After that? Another interview, this one was with Sports Illustrated. I got some food in my system, then I snuck downstairs, took a nice rest on the bed… I came back around six o’clock. Then we hopped up in the Jordan Bus and visited House of Hoops. I must have looked at everything in there. Everyone was real nice, good people. We all joked around inside—somebody told Renardo he was going to dunk on him in some undersized Jordan’s. He stopped that talk pretty quick, hah!
Next, something goofy went down. Right in the middle of talking to Justin about my day, this older guy in Harlem came up to me, just looked right at me, Jordan Hamilton and Justin, stopped the interview and went, “Young man, how tall are you?” It’s weird that I was on ESPN not 24 hours ago, and I still get random stuff like that. Of course I answered him politely, “Six foot ten,” but right after he left we were cracking jokes about it. Somehow we went from that to calling Hamilton short, then it somehow moved onto Justin joking about hiding on the bus, with me and Jordan hiding him. At the end, we agreed that might not work best considering how skinny I am—I can’t hide him! Haha!
Anyway, it’s time to get on this bus to go back to the hotel! Thursday’s going to be another busy day, so I’ll probably have a whole bunch to talk about!
Until next time, Peace!
