Pump N’ Point Guard

Releford rocking in America’s heartland.

by Antonio Curro – Midwest PUNKS Editor

America’s heartland is always home to some solid talent but basketball doesn’t always get the respect it deserves. A host of top prospects annually rock the courts and the 2010 Class is no exception as 5-10 PG Trevor Releford of Bishop Miege High School in Kansas is generating a lot of interest. His older brother was one of the most sought after recruits before committing to Kansas, but Trevor is making a name for himself.

The ultra quick PG has the ability to create havoc on opposing teams with his dribble penetration, his ability to attack the rim and vision, and excellent vision. Releford has some excellent physical tools in terms of his speed, quickness, Trevor Relefordexplosion and athleticism.

He can stroke the perimeter jumper, and his range extends beyond the 3-point line as well. But his calling card is being a floor general. He plays with a veteran savvy and swagger. He’ll be an excellent talent at the next level if he continues to improve the range and consistency of his stroke.

Releford has offers on the table from Missouri State, Wichita State, Creighton and Nebraska.

He plays for the Kansas City Pump N’ Run Grassroots travel program.

…and you wont hear a single point about his lack of height UNTIL the NBA draft comes’a calling and all of a sudden it will be, “oh but he’s too short for the NBA!?!”…Kids taller than Iverson and quicker than DJ Augustin so it doesn’t matter.
