Renardo Sidney To Commit This Weekend

One of the top prospects in therenardo-sidney nation will be announcing his college decision on Sunday afternoon, according to multiple reports. Renardo Sidney is expected to make the announcement in a press conference at Fairfax High School on Sunday, February 22 at 4pm PDT/7 pm EDT. The 6-9 power forward has talent, agility and skills second to none for anyone of his height and weight. Ranked #9 in Slam’s Fresh 50-2009, Sidney has been in the eyes of the media as well as of college coaches since his junior high days back when he lived in Mississippi.

Possible destinations are Virginia, UConn, USC, UCLA, Texas and Mississippi State. Other sources say Nevada Las Vegas and Arizona State are also in the mix. But for the most part, reports are pointing at USC and UCLA as favorites. Sidney hasn’t taken the SAT and must do so in order to be NCAA qualified. He is averaging close to 27 points and 12 rebounds for the season.

    Man, he looks like the damn cookie monster in that picture, but this guys game is serious. I could see him pulling a Carmelo and leading a team to a chip in the tourney as a freshman.

    If he comes to Texas, it is officially OVER. I’ll predict USC though.

    ciolk, I’d say the leaders are Arizona State, USC & the dark horse is UNLV. UT’s recruiting class is loaded already.

    Virginia? VIRGINIA? Wow, now that would shake the Earth. They have a pathetic team but a couple of really hot young freshman. Add Renardo and that team would explode. You gotta bet Duke and UNC are doing whatever they can to push Renardo to stay out West. How did Virginia get in the lottery? That’s a long way from home for Renardo. Besides, that’s an academic school. Does Renardo actually want to go to class? He hasn’t even taken the SATs. He needs to go to a school where he can just focus on basketball and have his tutors do his schoolwork. I’m guessing USC.

    No way any of those teams can afford to outspend Tim Floyd. He’ll just offer Renardo the money he was paying Mayo. That’s a stone-cold lock. Renardo to USC. Follow the benjamins, baby.

    I don’t know why you’re listing Virginia first. They’re squeaky clean. No way, no how, no chance. When you’re playing at this level you gotta bring some cash to the table.
