John Wall Charged with Breaking and Entering

The still un-committed recruit was involved in some “breaking news” in his home town last week: “Authorities said Wall, 18, was charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering in connection with an April 27 break-in at a home at 3924 Laurel Glen Drive in Raleigh. An officer saw Wall leaving from the rear of the residence and was able to detain him, police said. Police said there was no forced entry at the residence and no indication that anything was taken from it.”

Interesting to see what happens, because the past few years haven’t been too kind on star athletes who break the law

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

its a misdemeanor so don’t get too worried, it won’t affect anything. Just a bad decision by a high school athlete.

If there was no forced entry and nothing taken doesn’t that mean that he just walked out a backdoor?

…B. Long, nah he kinda broke into a foreclosed home to uhh… Well what do you think HS kids go to empty homes for *not talking about drugs*.

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

    I’m confused.

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

What are you insinuating, Walsh? He just needed a place to get it in?

  • http://shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Cheryl

Oh, get a room! And PAY for it. Dummy.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

I’m insinuating he’s a HS kid who did a dumb thing, like many others. It was a foreclosed home, nobody lives in it, nothing in it to steal, I’m positive he knew that- it’s not hard at all to know where the empty homes in neighborhoods are. They have effing notifications on the door, they might have boarded windows etc

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

and ciolk, I am saying that’s a good possibility.

  • Tavoris

I agree justin…sounds like it to me too

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

Tavoris, yeah. I talked to good ol’ Bomani Jones about it, he steered my mind in the right direction. Then I found what he was saying.

sheds a whole new light on the SLAM curse.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

hahahahahaha SLAM curse. I guess, I mean Rubio is officially in the draft and a top 3 pick after the cover, Jennings, one week after the cover got moved to a top 6 lottery pick…. Lance hasnt gone up or down. It’s not the madden curse thats for sure

Local Motel proprietors are up in arms.

  • http://where-basketball-b-longs.blogspot.com B. Long

Ummm, who doesn’t see Brandon Jennings going top five and why would anyone value their opinion.

  • Todd

lol … no big deal he’ll be able 2 buy 10 foreclosed homes in a year.

  • JoeMaMa

This move by Wall showed poor decision making. Like slamonline’s decision to plaster the home page with a ******** advertisement. The ballers don’t want to be assaulted with (wack) ads!!!!

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

Yup, I just read the linked story and it says a HS aged girl and guy were also caught leaving the same house. Kids these days!

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

    LMAO at Izzo’s line.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Oh c’mon, like NONE Of you have done this before.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

I’m not saying I haven’t. I’m just saying it’s not smart considering his status.

    Where’s Eboy?

  • sam

what a dumbs*** if he really needed money that bad or whatever he was looking for, he could just go play in europe and make tons of money hes an absolute idiot

“We’ll leave the light on for ya.”

  • http://www.twitter.com/jamesgoesham JamesgoesHam

i hate when people like sam start callin other people idiots n stuff just because somebody made a mistake. first, he’s human. second, he’s in high school. the charge will probably get dropped especially if this is his first offense.

  • http://effyou@heythere.com Allenp

He needs to get more under the table money so he can afford a hotel room.

  • http://slamonline.com/ Justin Walsh

it wont get dropped, it’s only a misdemeanor, there’s no reason TO drop it. Wall will pay a 500 dollar fine, do 24 hours of community service that he’d already do if he was on a college team or even in the NBA regardless.

All this talk has made me thirsty for a Powerade!!!!!

  • Kevin

The story said he was with a chick and a friend, he might have been looking for a place to smash at

Not quick enough, mister point guard.

  • boyl

all i got to say is weather he was doing anything or not in the house…he should know better than to be out at 12:30pm in a house he isn’t suppose to be in….and he has the country talking about him…not a smart move i have to admit and i’m a John Wall fan.

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com/ Moose

    He broke into BETCATS’ place.

  • Superman Osman

David Stern is gonna give hem some of that “you will not make a mockery of the NBA”. Timing sucks to tell the truth

  • http://hibachi20.blogspot.com DP

Europe he we come! play wit it.

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

Uh, 12:30 PM is the middle of the day. But that can still be suspicious on a weekday when you’re supposed to be in High School. I still think its funny that kids nowadays break into empty houses to smash.

  • boyl

uh, my point being it’s the middle of the day why would u break into house when it’s light outside..duhhhh coilkstar

  • Will Ram

If he needed money he could have asked one of his potential D-I suitors for it and made a commitment on the spot. Based on the report, it doesn’t look like they have a lot of dirt on him. Perhaps the only school that will take him off their list in the aftermath of this incident is Duke. I’d say the incident plays no role in his recruitment from other schools.

And why is this cat visiting NC Central? I know he wants to see what an all-black school has to offer, but would he actually consider playing there? Imagine the national visibility he would give that school….

OK young kid simply doing something very stupid but the law is the law if the let him go what about the younger kids who may look up to him lets stop making new rules for atheltes just because the have a GOD given talent. He should have had his backside on a court working on his game.
