Pangos AA Camp Top 25 Game Report

Shabazz Muhammad (Bishop Gorman NV) and Andre Drummond (St. Thomas More CT), the two top-rated uncommitted 2012 prospects on the Rivals 150, highlighted a most impressive roster at the 9th annual Pangos All-American Camp this past weekend at CS Dominguez Hills.

Muhammad scored 23 points in the Top 25 All-Star game to earn Camp MVP honors, while Drummond and Anthony Bennett (Findlay Prep NV) each had 16 points to share the Player of the Game award.

Muhammad had at least a half-dozen dunks, and added 6 rebounds (tied for game-high), 2 assists and 3 steals while making 8 of 14 shots from the floor in a most impressive performance, as his Blue team won the game, 96-87.

But Bennett was also quite impressive, making 7 of 8 shots including a pair of threes for his 16 points plus team-highs of 5 rebounds and 4 assists. That earned him co-Player of the Game honors with Drummond, who rang up his 16 points on 7-for11 from the floor while adding 4 rebounds.

Other impressive performers for the winners included 7-foot Robert Upshaw (San Joaquin Memorial), who had 10 points despite being matched up against Drummond much of the game. Muhammad’s Bishop Gorman teammate Rosco Allen had 13 points and 3 assists. Solomon Poole (Jacksonville FL) had 11 points on 5-for-7 from the floor with 2 steals.

For the Red team, Dominic Artis (Salesian-Richmond) had a very solid game with 10 points and a game-high 7 assists. Xavier Johnson (Mater Dei) had 9 points and Aaron Gordon (Mitty) had 8 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Grant Jerrett (La Verne Lutheran) had 8 points on 3-for-3 from the floor and 2-for-2 from the line.
