Puerto Rico, Stand Up!

This weekend, New York City will take part in one of our most colorful and exciting traditions, the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade. We’ll celebrate and acknowledge the Puerto Rican heritage that runs deep here in The Big Apple. The parade is always a kaleidoscope of festive colors, but this Sunday, June 14, Fifth Avenue will be showing love with PR’s red, white and blue. And what better way to rep than with a brand dedicated to heritage for the people of so many cultures: adidas!

For the 2009 Puerto Rican Day Parade, adidas has come up with some great pieces to wear while you rep PR. The adidas Originals Puerto Rico Track Top ($80) and Puerto Rico Tee ($32) are a great combo. And don’t worry, they have your feet hooked up, too. The adidas Originals Top Ten Lo ($70) will complete your look. And the little ones can look cool, too ($36).

Also, if you’re in the Herald Square neighborhood tomorrow, Friday, June 12, at 5 p.m., make sure you head into Macy’s to get the chance to meet multi-platinum Puerto Rican duo, Rene Perez Joglar “Residente” and Eduardo Jose Cabra Martinez “Visitante” of Calle 13. The Grammy winning duo will be on hand to spread the word about the parade and these awesome adidas’ pieces.

Honestly, what other brand has a better track record of manufacturing clothing for so many countries/cities/islands? Head to the adidas Originals Store at 136 Wooster St. in NYC to get outfitted for this year’s parade. ¡Nos vemos allí!
