Baron Davis is Cleveland-Ready

Pics of BD’s Cavs-appropriate Li-Ning Defend and Conquers.

by Chris O’Leary/@olearychris

Since the day that Baron Davis was traded from the L.A. Clippers to the Cleveland Cavaliers, I’ve had two thoughts in my mind. The first was, ‘ouch. Sorry Baron.’

The second had to do with his sneaks. What would Chinese sneaker company Li-Ning do for their highest profile endorsee? Repeated harassing emails to the good people at Li-Ning ended up being outweighed by Baron himself. He posted a few pics on his Facebook page on what he’ll be wearing as he plays out the rest of the season in Cleveland.

A quick side note: Props to BD for handling his trade like a pro. He had every reason in the world to pout and complain about going to Cleveland from his hometown team, but he’s kept his hairy chin up and stayed positive. As any Cavs fan can attest, that’s tough to do, considering where the team’s at right now.

Anyway, check the pic below and visit CounterKicks for an up-close look at the Li-Ning Defend and Conquer in the three different colorways.

Really? I like the black defend, don’t hate any of them.

    I don’t know man… Maybe it’s just the rendering.
Or, it could quite possibly have something to do with me not being a fan of Li Ning. Or any Chinese shoe company for that matter.

I could see how that would be an obstacle.

Sad thing is these are way nicer than most of the joints nike/adidas/jordan/etc are puttin out. The shoe game sucks these days.

“He had every reason in the world to pout and complain about going to Cleveland from his hometown team” I disagree. Had he come to training camp in-shape every year and played hard on most nights, then could grumble about being traded.

Haters’ are gonna hate, not that there’s anything wrong with that.

so, maybe we’ll see the vintage gs warrior Baron Davis? Bring some hope to Cleveland? Maybe?

these aren’t bad. i think ppl just have a hard time wrapping their heads around the fact that a chinese shoe company can compete with the nikes and adidas such. his logo is pretty dope too

Nice post, Chris. I had a chance to test out the Li-Ning BD conquer joints during their ASW media run. They felt really good on my feet and I plan on getting more runs in them.
