Why Georgetown could be more than a business move for JB.

Michael Jordan is renowned for his never-ending competitiveness. It makes you wonder if there’s a strategy to some of the teams and players that Mike has his sneaker line associated with.
These North Carolina Air Jordan 2011s are a no brainer. Of course you’ll want to hook your alma mater up with your brand. It makes sense from a loyalty perspective and from the business side of things, considering the viewership the NCAA tournament gets.

But Georgetown? You can’t help but think that MJ smirks a little bit each time he sees the Hoyas take to the court in his gear. Someone as competitive as Jordan will likely look at the Hoyas’ grey and instantly flash back to that championship clinching shot he hit against them back in 1982. And what better way to leave your mark on the game than to have a team you’ve conquered in the past wear your sneakers and have your logo on their jerseys?

It happened in the pros, too. I don’t remember Reggie Miller rocking J’s until after the Bulls ousted them from the 1998 Playoffs. After that, Reggie had a seemingly endless supply of Jordans until he retired.
The astronauts planted a flag on the moon when they landed on it. This could be MJ’s way of doing the same thing.
