Kicks: John Wall’s Second Reebok Shoe

by Chris O’Leary/@olearychris

CounterKicks has posted info up on John Wall’s second shoe, which will be called the Wall Season 2: Zig Encore.

The pics come from a first round sample that has ended up as an eBay auction.

CounterKicks clarifies a few details on what we see in the pics and what will end up on store shelves later this year.

“The photos out today from an eBay auction exhibit a first round sample of the Reebok ZigEncore with a couple changes being made toward the final production version. CK has been informed that the John Wall logo depicted on this shoe is incorrect and has been changed on the final version. The phrase “Humble and Hungry” is also inaccurate and has been changed for production. John Wall’s second signature shoes feature a retooled basketball-specific bottom with added solid rubber traction along the outsole. More details to come as it develops. Check out these Reebok Wall Season 2: ZigEncore first round samples for now.”

I guess I’m the only one that likes them.

Wall needs to drop reebok and sign with a shoe company that has a better design. ever since adidas bought reebok its been down hill from there. Iverson’s shoe line were the only exception from reebok, everything else looks the same.

I got the first ones – best basketball shoes I’ve ever owned. Nike is pure trash. Can’t figure out why everyone is still hugging on Phil Knight’s nuts.

Wall should’ve signed up with Nike or Adidas cuz… yea these shoes don’t have much inspiration like other signature shoes out in the shoe market today

Can we get back to the 90′s for a real shoes’ design?

  • Hambone

I don’t mind the black on White, I just don’t see the point of those soles.they have no function, why would you cut bits out of the sole = less traction. The zigzag bit also looks heavy.I remember playing in shox and making a hard cut and the spring near folded over on itself.don’t f about with gimmicks.I also believe if iverson was still playing these would probably be his kicks, stick ai3 on em and they’d sell like crack

looks like they’re designed by a 5 yr old

  • @Deknowz

  • marco

    Hello World
    I love my Shoe !

  • Towelie

I wore the Zigslashes. They need to build an outsole that has better traction cause I slid alot on the courts with em on.

Poor John Wall last year’s shoe was a failure, that’s why Wall wore the Reebok Question for about 15 games last year.I’ve never heard of any player with a signature shoe to stop wearing it mid season and switch up.D Rose wore the crazy8′s against the Heat during the regular season one time but that was it.
Reebok just signed former Washington Point Gaurd Isaiah Thomas(Kings)and it looks like he will be rocking the Iverson line of Reeboks as he was spotted rocking some Reebok Question low in a seattle summer league game.Honestly Under Armour is the 2nd hottest shoe company out.Jordan Brand sucks when it comes to signature shoes for players not named MJ.(CP3 had one good shoe).adidas had a solid year as far as shoe performance,it didn’t hurt them that D Rose had a crazy year,I’m sure he quadrupled their revenue.Nike is still on top in large part of Kobe.If you take Kobe off the market(in 2 years Kobe will retire).all nike has are the Lebrons,Durant.I think nike has run its course with the Hyper series(hyperdunk, hyperfuse, hypermax).Nike is desperate in a way.Under ARmour and brandon jennings are having the same impact Iverson had with Reebok at least so far.The Micro G black ice is one of the best performance shoes I’ve ever played in.under armour has a lot of shoes mid tops, lows, highs, a great balance that caters to every position, unlike nike and adidas who cater to gaurds as they preach how light there shoes are and how much faster you’ll be.UA doesn’t worry about being the lightest but they are the safest and most comfortable.LOOK OUT for UNDER ARMOUR.p.S. John walls hould join adidas that would be the smartest move
