Kicks: adidas Originals Back to Campus

[sg-gallery]

The adidas Originals Campus was originally introduced in the early 1970s as the Tournament, but was renamed around 1980. The Campus originally gained its cult following after the Beastie Boys began rocking the shoe religiously. The Brooklyn rappers immortalized the classic sneaker on the cover of their 1992 album Check Your Head. A timeless lightweight model, The Campus is the perfect touch of class to complement a fly outfit. Think simple, not flashy.

Set to hit stores today, the University Campus 80s feature three colorways to match three campuses: Georgetown’s blue and gray, Stanford’s cardinal red, and Texas’ burnt orange. Each has unique features to match the school’s tradition. The UT edition has a raw-hide feel and looks like its been ‘branded’ in true Texas form, Stanford’s is made of canvas material for a true west-coast feel, and Georgetown’s athletic-inspired material mimics heathered fleece.

The special edition shoes are available at exclusive retail outlets in their respective cities: MAJOR in DC (Georgetown), Nice Kicks in Austin (Texas), and Shoe Biz in San Francisco (Stanford). The Back to Campus packs retail at $80, so pop in to your regional retailer and get fresh before heading back to school.
