Kicks: Drew League vs. Goodman League Rematch

All the sneakers from the “Big Payback” game in L.A.

Photos by Thomas Thedy Kurniady

Yesterday we gave you a gallery of the best kicks from LeBron’s charity game at Florida International University, but that wasn’t the only All-Star convention this weekend. On Sunday in Los Angeles, the Drew League got revenge against the Goodman League with a 151-144 victory. The game didn’t disappoint, and neither did the on-court sneaker selections, which included classics, crazy colorways and brand new designs. Peep the photos above to see who wore what.

^I guess during the offseason they’re not contractually obligated to wear their sponsors sneakers.

I wouldn’t jump to that conclusion. I think we need to do a little research to find out just how these sneaker contracts work. Why I say this? Let’s put it this way. If someone were asked to make a list of “The NBA players most likely wear another brand of sneaker even though it’s strictly prohibited in their contract”, I think Mr. Beasley’s name who show up near the top of alot of people’s list.

What kind of contract did Beasley have with Adidas? Given his first two lackluster years, Adidas may be done with him. Every other player has been wearing their sponsored sneakers.
