Kicks: Nike LeBron 9 ‘Summit Lake Hornets’

A fresh colorway sure to get sneaker fans buzzing.

The Summit Lake Hornets were LeBron’s first rec league team. And not surprisingly, when you combine basketball with the Hornets name, you are required to have purple and teal team colors. It’s just how things work.

So following  in the bee steps of Summit Lake editions of the LeBron VII P.S. and LeBron 8 V/2, this LeBron 9 is the boldest interpretation yet. Purple everywhere with a kind of orion blue accent popping. Speckling on the midsole and lil’ hornet on the heel tab add just a touch of detail to an already loud look.

More deets to come as they develop.

Really not feeling these, especially compared to past Summit Lake LeBrons. Between these, the Galaxies, the Christmas pair, the Cool Greys, and the Breds, Nike’s getting straight lazy with the color blocking. They’re just churning out the same blocking with diff colors. Especially on a shoe with so many different regions and materials you’d think they’d get a little creative.

Ehh. They’re not BAD, per se, I’m just not feeling the solid purple upper. Looks like a pair of GS kicks.
