Kicks: adidas adiZero Rose 2.5 ‘Brenda’

The MVP honors his mom with a special colorway.

Under the bright Madison Square Garden lights tomorrow night, Derrick Rose is set to get busy with his mother-approved new girl: the adidas adiZero Rose 2.5.

Designated as a second half of the season sneaker, it’ll actually be the second time DRose laces up the adiZero Rose 2.5. This time, the signature shoe gets even more personal. The bold Scarlet Red upper showcases Brenda Rose’s (momma Rose) favorite color and also makes for a nice tie-in to the “Big Apple” where the Chicago Bulls will charge the New York Knicks.

The familia inspired “Brenda” adidas adiZero Rose 2.5 officially launches to the public on February 9.

Fresh “Home” and “Away” editions will be available starting tomorrow at Foot Locker, Eastbay, and shopadidas.com for $110 retail. Check in with adidas Basketball on Facebook to keep up with all of DRose’s moves and his newest Rose 2.5 ride.

    D. Rose is a class act baller. When have you ever heard of somebody putting out an exclusive of their shoes to honor their mom. Mad respect for Mr. Rose.

    players like Rose and Durant give the NBA hope and make you appreciate them more for simple things like this. I agree w/@may never heard of something like that. Rose is an all around great guy
