Today, Nike Basketball unveiled a trio of All-Star game colorways—one for each of its biggest players’ signature shoes. The LeBron 9, Nike Zoom KD IV and Nike Zoom Kobe VII System will all be on display in Orlando on the feet of their namesakes. Nike’s ASG editions all take inspiration from “space exploration” and feature graphics that reflect the supernova (a powerful universal force). The outsoles of the new Nike make-ups even glow in the dark, and each shoe has a “mission patch” that pays homage to the wearer’s accomplishments, much like astronauts earn patches for successes in space. LeBron’s—which is orange for the classic space suit color—is a lion, KD’s an ode to his reign as HORSE champion, and Kobe’s is, unsurprisingly, a mamba snake.
The ASG edition sneakers will be available at select retailers and at NikeStore.com starting February 25.
