The Swoosh unveils Summer ’12 apparel and footwear on Day 1.

On Day 1 of the Nike Olympic Innovation Summit at Pier 36 Basketball City in New York, NIKE, Inc. President & CEO Mark Parker and other notables introduced the media to the footwear and apparel Nike athletes will wear this summer at the Olympic Games. Olympic Gold Medalist Carl Lewis was in the building to help reveal Nike’s brand new FlyKnit and Nike Pro Turbospeed technologies, plus a new generation of Lunarlon cushioning. Most pertinent to SLAM fans, though, was the unveiling—with the help of Deron Williams and Tamika Catchings—of the Nike Hyper Elite uniforms that the USA Basketball team will rock in London, and the 2012 Nike Lunar Hyperdunk kicks that LeBron James, DWill and the majority of their Team USA teammates will lace up. Stay locked to SLAMonline this week for more, extended coverage, including Q+As with some of Nike’s most creative minds. —Abe Schwadron

That USA logo looks like crap. Another site compared to to a cross between a Suzuki logo and a sketch in a teen kid’s planner

the S looks like a dollar sign.. you might as well leave the U and the S out and everybody will still recognize the team..

The “S” looks like that graffiti S thing everyone used to draw on their school notebooks like 15 years ago.

Yeah not really feeling the jersey this year, anyone else notice the the USA lettering makes the player’s bodies look unproportional?

I think the last years jerseys were designed by Mr. cartoon. They shouldve had Shepard Fairey design them this year.

Dig the jerseys and the kicks. I feel like Nike has used that same image of Bron dunking for years, just changed the clothing and shoes.

I’m not feeling the jerseys. I thought last year’s was just fine. It’s definitely the ‘S’ that throws it off.

The shorts. The shorts. The shorts. About the only thing worthwhile…unless the shooting shirt is better than what they did in ’08…

    I actually like these jerseys.

  • andreanglais Posted: Feb.24 at 1:02 pm
the USA reminds me of the silhouette of a B2 bomber; got to say that doesn’t sit too well with me…
