NIKE BASKETBALL PRESENTS

Battle of The Boroughs 2012 Tryouts

You can feel the buzz once again: basketball is back and sitting atop its rightful throne of New York City, the mecca of hoops. The excitement is all around us and basketball is on the tip of every New Yorker’s tongue. There’s a rediscovered energy at MSG with the Knicks promising future, the young Red Storm squad out in Queens ready to make noise in the Big East, and the new Brooklyn Nets getting ready to user in a new, exciting era of NYC hoops.

This excitement trickles down to every baller in the Big Apple. Each one calls his borough “home court,” but now there lies a chance to claim the whole city’s crown. Armed with the most elite high school players from Brooklyn, Harlem, Queens, and the Bronx, these teams will duke it out for the title. Each team will be coached summer-long by an iconic leader from it’s borough’s basketball community. After grinding through the summer, the teams will come together for a one-day, winner take all tournament in August. 4 boroughs enter, 1 remains. Queens won the first BOB and Harlem took home the title last year. Which borough has next?

All eligible high school basketball players from the following boroughs are invited to tryout at your borough’s location.  After the tryout period, the head coaches will handpick their roster to represent that borough’s team. Official team roster and coaches will be announced following the tryout period.
