Today, Under Armour announces the official signing of Knicks point guard Raymon Felton to the UA Basketball team. Felton is expected to return this weekend. And, assuming he’s back for Saturday’s matchup with Philly, he’ll be wearing the Under Armour PEs you see below.

The official release, from our friends at Under Armour:

Baltimore, MD. (January 24, 2012) Under Armour announced today a new multi-year partnership with the New York Knicks Raymond Felton. From the bright lights of the Big Apple to arenas around the league fans will see Felton wearing the Under Armour Micro G Torch basketball shoe on the court this season. “Under Armour is taking basketball to the next level with innovative products providing players like myself real performance benefits,” said Felton. “From everything I’ve seen I know the brand is really committed to growing the game at the NBA, College, High School and Youth platforms. I’m looking forward to sharing my insights with the team and being a part of the UA basketball movement.”

After winning two state championships during a stellar high school basketball career in South Carolina Felton joined a highly touted recruiting class at the University of North Carolina. In his junior year, he established himself as one of the best point guards in college basketball on his way to leading the school to its fourth national championship before departing for the NBA. Drafted fifth overall in the 2005 Draft Felton has career averages of 13.5 points and 6.7 assists per game.

“We are extremely excited about partnering with Ray, a true professional and someone who embodies the underdog spirit we look for in our basketball athletes,” said Kris Stone, Director of Sports Marketing, Professional Basketball, Under Armour. “Ray has clearly established himself as a winner dating back to his high school state championships, NCAA Championship and current impact on the Knicks recent rise to the top of their division.”
