Tony Parker Left Nike for PEAK

Following in Dwyane Wade’s footsteps, almost literally, Tony Parker becomes the latest NBA star to jump ship from Nike to a Chinese shoe maker. Parker has inked a deal to endorse PEAK. Per the Express-News: “Long-time Nike endorser Tony Parker has left the shoe giant to sign a deal with Chinese sportswear company Peak, multiple outlets are reporting. Parker instantly becomes the brand ambassador for Peak, whose not-too-illustrious stable of NBA players includes Shane Battier, George Hill, and JaVale McGee. Jason Kidd had been with Peak before returning to Nike. [...] Details of Parker’s contract vary. French site Sportune reports the deal will be worth between $2.6 and $4 million annually, while CounterKicks.com puts the figure at $1.2 million over three years. That’s roughly what Parker had been making at Nike, according to various reports. [...] Peak is reportedly working on a signature make for Parker, who had been with Nike since at least 2006.”

I’d give em a fair shot but only if i get hooked up with a free pair or discount . I dont spend over 100$ on nikes so what makes them think I’m gonna willingly fork over a buck for PEAKS or AU’s

id love to be a fly on the wall to hear what nike’s execs said about not extending parker and specifically, why.

i think we all know why or at least i know why… connect the dots… and the picture is clear.

    good for nike.

Nike only really wanted him for his market presence in France. I guess it wasn’t worth it to Nike to match what the Chinese were going to pay.

People bash the Chinese, but if they look at their Adidas and Nike shoes, it says… MADE IN CHINA. Who owns who? ‘Nuff said.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

Kevin Love and Kyle Lowry are also with PEAK. So they’re getting there.

  • Max

    I don’t get it.

during Halloween TP & TD took a controversial photo that the L & its partners made efforts to keep under wraps… SLAM posted the story w/ a link to the photo… you can find by just searching.

imo, the photo was too much for TP and his former shoe sponsor.

i would also point out dw3 lost his desirable shoe sponsor and imo i believe that was due to making very harsh statements during the lockout directed at a prominent figure that won 6 titles and has a very good relationship w/ dw3′s former shoe sponsor.

    does it make sense now?
