adidas Mutombo (KICKS)

Dikembe won’t be blocking these.

Now that Dikembe Mutombo has somewhat returned to the spotlight due to his hilarious TV spots, adidas finally saw fit to dig into their vault to re-release one of his classic sneakers. That’s right, the adidas Mutombo is making a comeback. True to its original form, the nostalgic sneaker is landing in retailers this summer.

Alongside a crop of retros from the big men of yesteryears, the adidas Mutumbo returns sporting an African-inspired base with white leather borders encapsulating a black nubuck upper. Dikemebe’s number 55 is placed on the upper left side paneling with three stripes branding on the rear of the black outsole. Will you be picking up a pair when they drop?

Well… it does have black laces. You don’t see that around a lot anymore…

these were the kicks the kids that couldnt afford kemp pumps, LJ reeboks, or barkley nikes’ hills , pennys or jordans got. like they sold them at k mart. the two guys i knew got teased for em back in 94. i kinda like em now though. centers never make for good shoe endorsers for some reason.

That’s false these are Adidas, not sold in the Kmart. You’re thinking of the Spalding joints Hakeem wore.

Adidas, Reebok and Fila need to chill with these retros if they’re gonna price them like Nikes. I hope the price is reasonable because no one is gonna pay $100+ for some Dikembes.

Exactly. I’ll buy these for a good 75 and a little more depending on how much I like them when I see them, but 160 like the Shaq Attaqs? No way
