Nike Officially Unveils LeBron 11

Official photos and details on LeBron’s new shoe, releasing in October.

Today, Nike officially unveils official info and imagery on the Nike LeBron 11. Designed to protect LeBron James and his combination of power and speed, the LeBron 11 is built from the inside out, and is both the lightest and the lowest LeBron shoe ever made. According to Nike, it weighs approximately 14.5 oz in a men’s size 9.

The LeBron 11 has new Nike Hyperposite technology to provide protection, containment and responsiveness. It locks down LeBron’s foot so he can glide and fly all over the court, plus has a combination of Lunarlon and Nike Zoom units for a soft, springy feel. The 11 is specifically “deconstructed to get James’s foot much lower to the ground so he can feel the court” per Nike.

As for the look? The number 11 represents “duality,” as the number itself looks identical upside down and right side up. The inner tongue of the shoe highlights “XI” and spells out the number six, too. The sock liner graphic says “LeBron” when you look from one direction and “James” from the other.

The two initial colorways of the LeBron 11 are “King’s Pride” and “Terracotta Warrior.” Here’s more on the two different styles, straight from Nike:

James plays with fearlessness, determination and the heart of a lion. The King’s Pride colorway draws inspiration from the lion – its dark loden upper color and the floral print on the collar lining reflect the pride of the wildlife.

James was impressed by the Terracotta Warrior Exhibition which he visited when he was in Xi’An, China, in 2011. The exhibit, plus James’s playing style – which reflects a warrior with grit, confidence, hard work and determination – inspired the Terracotta Warrior colorway.

The design of the shoe is inspired by the Terracotta Warriors as we see them today — in neutral stone colors along with pop colors of purple/teal/red to represent how they were originally painted. The graphic texture on the upper articulates the linked, plated armor that the warriors wore. The special lining shank design graphic is drawn from the style of Bronze Age art, the era in which the Terracotta Warriors were made.

The King’s Pride colorway drops on October 12, 2013, globally. The Terracotta Warrior edition will be available on October 1, 2013, in Greater China, and on November 27, 2013, in North America and the rest of the world.

  • thanh

All of his shoes are too damm heavy

  • SouthBeachJoe

    I’m getting them …

  • Will Lee

Looks nice but why is it terra cotta warrior?

  • Zari-Musick

Im assuming he approved this shoe for its supreme comfort on the court and not for its look…as a fan of LeBron…Im sorry LBJ but this shoe is horrendous. They look more like a Soldier sneaker, rather than an actual LeBron signature shoe. I don’t know about these…

  • you

    Cause chinais nikes biggestmarket

  • Dfrance

They’re heavy relative to a Kobe or Durant shoe, but they’re not too bad considering they usually carry a full length air bubble. These don’t have that so they should be substantially lighter.

  • Dfrance

They look exactly like the Soldier 7s that just came out. Where’s the air bubble?

  • Dfrance

I just don’t see whats wrong with a good old fashioned herringbone pattern on the sole. None of these shoes have the traction they could have because of these stupid designs on the bottom.

  • Kelvin Kam

    how mush is it ?

  • RayJr

Never been a fan of Lebron’s shoes and this new design certainly didn’t help. On that note, I can’t wait to see what the Kobe 9 will look like.

  • RayJr

I just read MSRP is $200

I agree. This unveiling reminds me of this unveiling:

so china gets their hands on it like 2 months before all other countries?

  • Zari-Musick

lol I have to screen shot this…best reply I’ve ever gotten on Disqus HAHAHAHA #FlatLine

  • Ishmael Jenkins

Don’t like them but it doesn’t matter what I think or anyone else who doesn’t like them thinks. People are going to buy these because of whose they are. More millions of dollars.

  • Zari-Musick

EXACTLY! The lack of an AirMax bubble is my other BIG issue!

  • Zari-Musick

    True indeed… #ThankTheHypeBeast

  • Evan Boland

    Prefer the X’s.

  • Caboose

I feel like some 10 year old designed these on MS Paint…

  • Zari-Musick

That color way up there…Nah. If I even decide to mess with this shoe…it would be this color way…

  • robb

    Those are HORRIBLE.

  • robb

Why? Do you work in construction?

  • don

According to Nike, it weighs approximately 14.5 oz in a men’s size 9. LOL. adidas beats them by roughly 5oz?

  • bobby

dope, def nicer then the new kd’s

  • 23

I thought you hated LeBron? #irony

  • Busta213

Whats with the high front low back on the ankle? These look a lot like his last ones that looked a lot like the Kobes that looked a lot like the huaraches

  • Your Face

    u color blind?

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

the high front enables them to put in the extra lace. pretty sure that’s its entire function. Height of material on the ankle has pretty much proven to be irrelevant in terms of functionality.

  • http://twitter.com/sooperfadeaway nbk

and these are supposedly the lightest LeBron’s released. Looks like the Crazy 8′s and Hyperdunks had a baby.

  • Alexzandar Davilijanovic

Cunstruction in mars fool, these are hot

  • Caboose

    Uh nope.

  • MJL

At first I didn’t like lebron tens and in over time I grew to like like them probably be the same with these

  • Owned.

I bet you have sketchers or somthin loollolll

    Terrible shoe.

  • alex

    Terrible GOD.

  • alexander Davijlovic

You all suckers , and haters of these shoe, sound like the idiots back in the 90′s who hated the Concords,Kamikazes,Foamposites, saying all kind of shiith , like clown shoes and sh.., now, all you suckers “feel” the retros and “respect” the XI’s. This is a great shoe, look like something from year 2013-2014 , just awesome , best LeBron kick in the ass

  • robb

  • robb

    great as usual

  • Will Lee

yeah but still, you can find terra cotta warrior pictures and the colorway is no where linked.

The colorways looks a lot like Jordan’s..

  • ubestnotmiss

the black and red colorway is the best. check it out

  • Evan Boland

When did I ever say I hate Lebron? I like him. Not one of my fav tho.

  • Evan Boland

  • Evan Boland

  • Evan Boland

Terrible shoe, terrible god, what’s good these day’s? MMLP2 coming out.

  • Evan Boland

KDVI and Lebron XI are both disappointments. KDIV > KDVI, Lebron X > Lebron XI

  • Irishway’s

IDK… Different color ways could be a decent shoe.. those purple and teal ones look like something Larry Johnson would were back in “93″

  • Ishmael Jenkins

LeBron is a classy guy. Has nothing to do with class. Nike is a business. It’s not about conscience or class. They want to make money just like every other business…including the NBA.

  • danpowers

thats not about lebron in particular and i dont know him in person. (anything i get to read through the media bout him lets him look like a douche tho. i dont know if thats about him actually being a douche or the media trying to form that oppinion)

    “They want to make money”
and the problem imo oppinion is that the question for the “how” often doesnt matter to anyone. that is why i give kudos to guys like cwebb who set an example by doing what he did.

it doesnt make sense to expect guys stepping away from money but it is very refreshing to see that every once in a while there are guys who dont follow the herd without any criticism.

  • Dfrance

I agree, they should have improved upon the design of the KDIV, let that strap become his signature. They went way left with the KDV.

The LeBron 8 V2 was the best LeBron to me from a performance and design standpoint.

  • pposse

big ups to c webb on this one.

  • pposse

right when i seen these shoes the first thing i saw was a future version crazy 8.

  • Nate Thompson

I like these, I think I’ll get them, I stayed away from all the Lebron’s with the air max in the heel because I always rip the sole that attaches to the air bubble.

  • IggI

I love all the King Jame’s shoe, but why am I not to crazy about these one??

  • Ishmael Jenkins

Stephon Marbury set the best example to me with those Starburys. I can’t knock guys, who mostly come from tough environments, signing with huge shoe companies and going along with the program. Jordan athletes have to feel some kind of way when they read/hear about people getting hurt or killed over some Jordan basketball sneakers. But they keep wearing and endorsing the product.

  • danpowers

this is why i did not directly criticize james in my comment above, that wouldnt hve been appropriate (i am aware that i implied criticism tho)
but looking at guys like marbury or webber who went through sh*t as well during their youth(at least marbury, i dont know anything about webbers biography before michigan) just makes me wonder why we dont see more guys going this way.

these moves are exceptional which is why i consider this as extraordinary or “classy” behaviour.

  • Ishmael Jenkins

But notice that Marbury only did those Starbury’s after he had been with And 1 for ten years. So he could afford to start something new after all of those checks he received from both the NBA and And 1. He didn’t start with the Starbury’s until 2006.

  • danpowers

i dont know what his motives were and when or how he was able to realize tht something is wrong with that money making machine. thats why i stated in some other headline that the nba rookie programme should include sociology courses lol

  • Ishmael Jenkins

When players get drafted, they’re a part of the NBA money making machine. So are we as fans. That’s just what it is. I don’t blame guys for being a part of the shoe business money making machine and using it to support themselves, their families and the communities they were raised in. But I also can appreciate guys who go their own way, start their own cheaper lines and make those sneakers easier to get.

  • Cal

    Love these!

  • danpowers

thats why i didnt point my finger at lebron and instead just stated that id like to see more guys stepping away from these contracts for the same reason as marbury or webber did.

  • Marvis Irwin

Dem joints aint poppin’- broken english and all. The Kd 6′s and the LeBron 11′s are dookie ugly sneakers. Last year was the best for both of them in my opinion. But..I bet someone will a make a custom pair of both that not harden my heart to not liking them so much………..Redemption in time…………maybe!

  • http://www.rich-imaging.com/ Dutch Rich

I’m going by Lebron’s facial expressions on this one.

  • Mike From Spain

They look like the shoes for a suit of armour in the grey and black colorway

    May Yahweh forgive you.

  • algrolls

    Those some ugly ass sneakers….respectfully.
