Hey, just wondering do we re-post each day?

  • Han

My favourite moment of buying shoes would be the first time I bought my first basketball shoes. It was a Nike flight. I have been into basketball shoes so long since I saw the first T-mac and Duncan, but my parents wouldn’t allow me to buy one because I didn’t play b’ball regularly enough to purchase the shoes. That fortunate event happened when I started to play for my high school team. That pair of Nike still means a lot to me even though 4 years have past since that day.

  • ave. joe

Hideous. They look like the sneakers they sell at Wal-Mart…only with a Jordan logo.

  • Tanoy Biswas

ave. joe when i buy this shoe i’m gonna beat ur ass with them cuz these are fresh!

  • S.J.

The AF1 white-on-whites with the ice sole were not necessarily my favourite sneakers, but definitely impacted my shoegame the most.
    The story goes like this…
So I was all set for back-to-school, with my fresh whites. I show up to school, and lo-and-behold I see the same exact shoes I have on about 20 other dudes’ feet. So I went back to footlocker and got the fresh-whites with the ice blue soles. They’re a classic with a little bit of “umph”. Bread and butter, baby. Still use sea glow on ‘em to this day to keep those soles fresh.

My favorite shoe.. Hmm. In 4th grade. The t-mac 2. So fresh. My first pair of nice shoes. My parents wouldnt cough up the money so i pulled weeds, mowed lawns, vaccumed, did dishes, whateever for money. Finally got the money. The day i got them I had a game. It was overtime with like a min. down by 5. I stole the ball and hit a 3. They came back down. I grabbed the board and hit another 3. Then locked up the guy for the W. The t-mac 2 started it all

  • Rusty

    ish is wack

  • DALLAS STOKES

i’m just thankful joe didnt trash Protege in his comment. I actually like the shoe just need help with the fade thing… But will have a pair.

  • g 2 da ner

  • Moid

My favorite sneaker has to be the Air Jordan XI. My grandfather once wore that sneaker, and would take care of his pair like it was a piece of gold. Before he died, he gave his prized possession to me, and it meant the world to me. It was his way of showing his love. When the Air Jordan 11/12 Pack released earlier this year, I went to purchase them with my father. While waiting in line, he told me that I was just like my grandfather when it came to sneakers. I shed a tear that day.

  • Teddy-the-Bear

My favorite basketball-shoe purchase has to be my first ever: the And-1 Tai-Chi’s, when I was six years old. Living in New York, I used to watch/play ball with “the big kids” in the schoolyard and I’d always show my shoes around because I felt like a star or something.
These shoes represent the inner-city basketball experience, sneaking onto the rugged blacktop-courts across the street to play on the hoops with the crooked backboards; back when Skip-to-my-Lou was still playing on every VCR in the apartments.
Whether Chinese, black, white, or Latino, these shoes were special to us kids.

Do we like write bout another favorite pair of shoes we bought if we didnt win the previous day.???

It was the summer of 98’, Penny scored 40 points in back-to-back playoff games wearing a pair of “space boots”. The materials of Air Foamposite One look alien-like and the design is out of this world. I want them bad. When it released in the summer, I was already back to my home country so I asked my friend in the States to help me to get the shoes. He told me the Footlocker sales was like “8 pairs? Are you sure? It’s $180 a pair! ” Oh yes I’m sure.

My favorite all time shoe had to be the Jordan Melo 1.5. It meant alot to me because they were given to me by my grandma 2 weeks before she past away. She knew i was a melo fan and bought them the second they came out. Plus the design was clean and simple blue white and some gold. I used it to play ball and at times even went out with them. Kids at school evyed me for having them they would try to step on them to get them dirty

  • rog123

My lbj 4s are my favorite. Whenever I buy good shoes, I only rock them off the court, but these kicks made me want to wear them every day on and off the court. And I did. Played every game with those black/red trophies. They didn’t even match my schools colors but I didn’t care. I can only afford to get like 2 to 3 pairs of good sneakers a year so when I first saw the previews of the zoom lbjs on nicekicks I knew I had to wait for them. A shoe with all the best technology.

  • http://nba.com t.dot

The dwyane wade 1.3 all star edition shoes. they were white, with some blue, and pictures of roses. I got them 2 years ago, when i was 11 years old, at a foot locker in toronto. I then brought them with me when i moved to israel. I wore those shoes to shchool, and i obviously balled with them. they ended up not living up to their full potential, because they were stolen from my doorstep when I was airing them out overnight. I was obviously very depressed, and it was even worse because the shoes were still in good condition. I still don’t know who stole them, but I do know one thing, that whoever stole them got a real nice pair of kicks

  • ave. joe

My favourite shoes that I ever bought were the Kobe 2′s by Adidas. Those had to be the ugliest shoes anyone has ever seen but they were heaven to ball in. It made me feel like Gilbert Arenas, everyone made fun of me but I was like ‘bunn them’. I just went out there and did what I did.

    P.S. Protege shoes are LEGIT!

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

spot on with the wal-mart comments. some of the jordan shoes would be terrible if they didn’t slap a jordan on ‘em.

  • German Reignman

Reebok Kamikaze 2 (check my screen name, duh): I bought them in Paris, when my girl (now wifey) was working there. Footlocker, dude selling shoes was like 7-1 tall and when I asked for my size he said “Sorry, I bought the last pair” and when I looked down and saw his feet (twice my size) he started laughing madly. I tried them on and no shoe has yet felt the same and helped me channel my inner Reignman (except for the illegitimate children) the way they did

  • COLT6

Jordan 13s are the greatest kicks in history, black and red on that ’98 kiss of death jumper at Utah. The shoe above on the other hand is just plain shameful. Quit releasing fugly sh%t Jordan Brand, that logo cannot justify ‘expensive’ and ‘atrocious’ at the same time.

  • Kevin

My favorite purchase has to be the Air Jordan 1, released in 1985 kicking off not only the greatest legacy in sneakers, but also the greatest legacy in basketball history. These groundbreaking shoes caused the NBA to ban them because they violated NBA color rules naming them “devil shoes”. When I bought these shoes, I felt like I had bought a piece of history. They were the first kicks that started me to become the sneakerhead that I’ am today. To me, it is the holy grail of shoes that marked the beginning of a new generation of shoes.

  • rob stewart

My favorite Jordan shoe purchase was the first pair of Jordans I ever recieved. They were the Jordan IV’s. I rememeber taking them off during class, setting them on my desk, and drawing them because I liked them so much in fourth grade. The first day I got them I immediately played football in the street which is something I would never do today in a fresh pair of J’s.

  • JC

Awestruck. Dumbfounded. That’s the feeling I had when I walked in Athlete’s World and laid eyes upon the… Reebok Answer 2. It’s a shoe that you rarely hear “holy grail” stories about, but the design, the sleekness of the lines, the emblazoned “Iverson” across the forefoot; it just spoke to me. I can’t tell you if it was the lighting at Athlete’s World, the way the shoe was positioned, or maybe it was something in the air, but I could swear the shoe was glowing when I first set eyes upon it. The only thing I can compare that feeling to now is walking into a club and seeing Adriana Lima gracing the bar. Being a broke 15 year old who had never owned a pair of signature basketball shoes, I used every begging and pleading technique I knew to convince my parents to purchase them for me. Apparently, my powers of persuasion weren’t enough though, as my parents blatantly refused. For years, I lived in despair. Oh, the agony of it all. Alright, that’s over the top, but I WAS sad. Until one fateful day, about five years ago, I was in a local mom and pops shop, and lo and behold, what did I find? My holy grail, the last pair, in my size, in dead stock condition. No yellowing of the soles, not a mark to be seen. I don’t know what I did to deserve that kind of luck, but I know I did something right, because on that day I was united with my first love. It’s not the most popular shoe. It doesn’t have any history behind it. In fact, most people probably don’t remember the shoe. But, to me, it’s love at first sight. And that’s all that matters.

  • http://www.eric32woodyard.wordpress.com Eric Woodyard

I can remember it like it was yesterday! Kobe had the fro, I had a fade, and I only wore a size 6. My size is so significant because I bought a size 8.5 in the Adidas Kobe 1 playoff makeup (…with the metal over them). To make up for the size difference, I added newspapers in the tip of the shoe. I eventually got in trouble with my momma when she found out but who cares? Kobe was my idol and I spent my money on pretty much anything he endorsed and still do…lol

The first ever red and white Nike Shox. The ultimate classic VC shoes. I remember buying them in NY and had put them in my van and went driving around to other stores. When we got out of one of the stores, I saw the van door slightly open and immediately assumed someone broke in to grab my babies. I ran to the car to realize that there was a strap blocking the door from closing. Scariest and happiest moment of my life. I’ll never forget that day.

    Nike Shox BB4 – woops

  • Wdavid

I was in college and completely broke, but I needed new shoes for both casual wear and ball. They had to look good walking to class and feel good on the court. I walked into Foot Locker and immediately saw them: black and white Wade 1 low-tops. The Air Jordan-esque design, punctuated by those mesh shark fins on the side, as well as the decent price tag, did it for me. I’ve since been able to afford much more technologically advanced shoes since then, but I will always remember those fondly. I wore them until the soles could take no more.

    6/10. #1 is still Jordan 11′s.

  • adbphilly

Answer IV’s. I’m 15. I was 11, didn’t care about what I had on my feet. These helped me become a sneakerhead. Idolizing Iverson my whole life, these were extra special. My first Iverson kicks. Absolutely beautiful. Rocked them everywhere. That’s what’s special about them. Still have them and everytime I look at them, I remember a special moment, like when I wore them to a football game. stepped in mud. Like I lost my best friend. Was up all night with wipes scrubbing the mud out. The 4’s were my babies. Introduced me into the sneakergame. Thanks Answer 4’s.

My favorite shoe purchase of all time would be 1991-92 the black/infrared Air Jordan VI. I thought I was “ballin” ;only the rich kids, drug dealers and serious hoopers could afford them. I had just gotten my first job and there was a sense of financial freedom, no longer depending on moms, so I made that purchase. Not to long afterward, the Air Jordan VI white/red/black(Chicago Bulls) dropped and I had 2 have them. That was a great time in my life.

  • Dustin

Wife, daughter and I don’t have a lot of money and for what seemed like forever I had been balling in some clunky Nikes that were way too heavy and wide for my feet. I tried on the Hyperdunks and absolutely loved them…never has a shoe been meant for a foot the way that shoe was with mine. I didn’t have the means to spend that much on myself but I would try that shoe on everywhere we went. On Valentines Day this year my wife surprised me with a pair and reaffirmed my love for her…and the shoe.

  • Jonathan Marshall

My favorite shoe purchase of all time would have to be the Reebok Question, Allen Iverson’s first signature shoe. I remember when I first saw the shoe in person. My father came home with them and there they were, blue and white. What stood out to me was the blue tip and how stylish it was. What that sneaker signified was more than just a piece of clothing to wear; it started my love for the game and Iverson. I would tape SportsCenter every morning and as most kids watched cartoons, I watched Iverson embarrassing grown men. When I put the Questions on, I felt like my basketball idol. So till this day, the Reebok Question is my favorite shoe off all-time and it also solidified my love for the game.

  • el gee

Not going the bball route on this one…my favorite sneakers ever were the nike cortez full suede in navy blue. why? its not cause mj used to rock em. not cuase kobe or shaq wore em. its cuase my hero wore them almost all the time. That’s right George Costanza. If you watch Seinfeld you’ll see in almost any episode he is kicking it those casual sneaks. I loved those shoes and that show. I don’t think you can get them anymore (they have them in all blue but a split between nylon and suede- just not the same)

  • Tony H.

My favorite Jordan shoes has to be Jordan XI. It means a generation of basketball has passed by, also means MJ’s comeback.

  • ave. joe

im just posting this with my correct email in it…just in case i win :D

  • Matin Amanzai

My favorite shoe purchase of all time was when Kobe released his Nike Hyperdunks (Away – Black, Yellow, and Purple). Man, those are amazing. I’ve always been a fan of Kobe since I was a little kid. And those were my first Kobe shoes so they were really special to me. I wore them to school and people always used to complement my shoes. That was a good feeling! That year I also made the basketball team. It was a great year!

  • Mr.Clutch

How do you know who wins?

  • KickFreak

My most memorable shoe purchase ever was the AJ 13. Wanted them for so long. One day I was at my friends house and we were snoopin through some of his older bro’s stuff in his old room. I love sneakers so I go straght for the stack of shoe boxes. Somehow this guy has a band new pair of original Black/Red Air Jordan 13. Turns out he wore them twice, but long story short, $115. Best $115 I have EVER spent..

  • http://www.slamonline.com S.Wilkie

The best shoe purchase I ever made was the Jordan 18. Yeah these shoes were SICK. Super comfortable and very nice. The day I wore these on the court everyone was talking about my kicks. But the real reason they were the best purchase was because in these shoes I had my best season as Basketball player. My first game rocking these I dropped a career high 34. Followed it with 37 and 10. I averaged 33 ppg and 7 apg in these kicks. Won the provincial championship in these shoes. I got MVP and All-Star honors all-year. After that season I rocked Reeboks and rolled my ankle.

  • http://www.slamonline.com S.Wilkie

    and who won yesterday?

  • Jamal Banks

The Jordan XIV was the best shoe I ever bought. I had to wash cars, moe lawns, babysit. You name it, I did all kinds of things toafford this shoe. But man was it worth it. These shoes did me wonders. I played amazing in these. Everyone wanted these shoes but nobodys parents wanted to spend that kind of money for shoes. I put in the work and got bragging rights. I had a crazy swagger with these. Everyone used to stare at these kicks. All the girls loved these shoes. It was one hell of a shoe.

  • Kickaholic

    I wonder who won yesterday

  • http://jakeandamir.com tealish

The Questions were my first purchase and they’ve remained my favourite. Metallic blue tip, soft foam sole, and a bee-hive cushion — the kicks were just insane. But much like the man himself, it took some time to like it more and more. With Ivy, his disregard for the established greats, namely Jordan, gave me reservations. With the Questions, it was the metallic tip. I bought them anyways and eventually, the brashness (of the blue tip) became my favourite part about the shoe — not unlike the living icon himself.

  • jk_light

My favorite shoe purchase were Pippen’s Nike Air Maestro in red in which he won the All Star MVP. I was 16 years old at that time and about to start my first full Basketball Season (late bloomer). I never spent that much money before on a pair of shoes or clothing overall and even though I wear the shoes till they totally fell apart, I still have them to this day cause i just can’t throw them away. And from time to time I pull them out of the closet and think about the start of my total hoop craziness.

  • http://www.infamousklav.blogspot.com Klav

my favorite was the Jordan 3′s. wanted them since i was in 6th grade when i saw true blues at Footaction in 01. i didnt get a chance to get them until last year when the CDP dropped. i pulled a lot of strings cause i didn’t have the money for it, but managed to get the black/cements for $115. i got my favorite pair, and for a steal of a price, they continue to create great memories for me.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Pardeep

My favorite shoe purchase ever has to be the Melo 1.5. These shoes were sexy. All the girls loved these kicks and all the guys wanted them. But it was how I bought them. I saw them in SLAM magazine and knew I must get them. Financially my family would not be able to afford these. So I gotta job worked my ass off and ended up buying these the day they arrived. These were so comftrobale and nice. This shoe came with bragging rights. Melo 1.5’s were like the hottest girl at school everyone wanted and you ended up getting.

  • http://www.slamonline.com Da Zen Master

The Adidas Superstars with the shelltoes were and remain my favorite shoe of all time. Classic silhouette, you can rock ‘em with just about anything, and the toes never crease. I remember all the buzz surrounding RUN-D.M.C. and these kicks. They were also one of the first low-cut sneakers introduced for basketball. I had to use up all of my previously saved money in my piggy bank to cop ‘em. It was so worth it, man. Those three, black stripes looked so good on the all-white. Man, I wore those shoes ‘till the sole came off. Classic.

  • Pito

my favorite shoe purchase was my adidas promodels because it was a really hard situation in which i was in we didnt have any income for 4 years living of foodstamps and money we were makin from sellin scrap metal it was bout 2 years back when i was 14 now im 16 i had saved enough money to get me some real basketball shoes not some payless knockoffs and i was able to save 60 dollars in like 2 years cuz of how hard things were and i was able to go to finishline and get me my first real pair of basketball shoes and i still have them till this day there some of the best basketball shoes ive played in but that my shoe expirience
