Nike Rivington Court NYC (PHOTOS)

A recap of Sunday’s launch in the L.E.S., in pictures.

All photos courtesy of Nike

Sunday was a picture-perfect day in New York City, as Nike Basketball hosted a block party and mini-hoops tournament to kick off its residency on the Lower East Side with the Rivington Court. Before the real games begin on Wednesday, Nike welcomed the community to its hardwood court with performances by Theophilus London & FLO of Been Trill and the release of limited numbers of the Air Force 1 Digi-Camo. Nike captured all the fun in photos, which you can see above. Stay tuned for much more from Rivington Court NYC this summer!

    Some styles should stay dead.

LOVE the old school VIBE. Style never dies homie, just gets recycled. Know you history son.

High Tops! These kids have swag

An ode to the past. Not mad at all. Plus, it looks like kids having fun. Can’t hate on that. If they are staying out of trouble and being good citizens then it’s all good.

Its not called swag it’s called thievery in my book! When we did it back in the 80′s it was creative and new. These kids are just not innovative, everything about their generation says copycat. They retro everything! I am not feeling it, but hey I guess it’s not for this 80′s baby!

    waste of money

@Ses!!! As long as these kids don’t switch it up in 2 years when everybody else does it’s cool with me. I just don’t like the bandwagoners. But then again I guess I’m going down with the sinking ship that was the mid-late 90′s (long undershirts, pants tucked into shoe soles, etc.) As far as the event goes look like it was a GREAT day in the city…

    I love the haircuts though…

80s and early 90s held the best hairstyles for black men (omitting the jheri curl). I wish I could rock a flat top, man.

Damn, kid. I haven’t lamped in the Lower East Side since mixtapes were actually cassette tapes. Gotta drop by this summer and see some old homies. Shout outs to my peoples over there, Ghetto Inmates and all them savages. Free Tru Life!
