Providence To Step Up Security

Probably a good idea if someone (brother of Providence guard Jeff Xavier, in this case) could walk onto the court like this.

Mayhem and bedlam abound. My Gawd, in the days of Obama?

Nah, this video pre-dates his presidency, and, oh, are they gonna have to start building cages around the court?

I love how whenever a fan steps onto the court, it’s like the guy must be carrying a f*cking dirty bomb under his arm. “This is dangerous!” No, the 6-8 guys running around elbowing each other is dangerous. The dude walking onto the court is just stupid.

@Ryan Yeh, though he could have been packing heat. In which case, it would have been pretty dangerous, because, at least the players who wack each other around are unarmed. No?

No, because he or any other fan who sits four feet away from the court at thousands of college and NBA games every year could be packing heat, or a suicide vest, or whatever. The proximity in basketball is what it is, and as far as the threat of violence, there’s no real difference between being on the court and being in a courtside seat. But people act like there’s some invisible sacred line that you cross that suddenly changes things, and announcers especially tend to get all uptight about it. It’s silly.

I’m obviously not condoning motherf*ckers walking on the court… although let’s be honest, a lot more people would watch random Big East games if they did!

thats crazy..just walks on down and stands in the key on the foul shot haha..honeslty, stepping up security, or looking into getting some?

That’s nuts, but I can’t say it’s uncommon. Certain places just don’t think about stuff like this. (Or was someone just on a “break”?) This one time up here Mos Def was playing, and this dude just hopped up on stage, gave him a pound and walked right out of the joint. It was nuts. Mos was straight startled.

I agree with you Ryan, just playing Devil’s advocate.

1 in 8 people are on ICE. Stands to reason…

    Deke: Of course it does.
Tzvi: I hate it when people agree with me.
    Dacre: Well played.

Yea, that’s a good idea to get more security, cause that rush the court stuff is dangerous, and you never know if somebody is gonna go Wood Harris in Above The Rim

Wouldn’t have happened if he didn’t travel n was out of control. Anyways…yeah security should be there to stop that for sure. Crazy mofo
