Video: Darius Miles Shakes Off The Rust

While DMiles clanked a dunk a la Michael Jordan at All-Star, dude was still nice against the Cavs. In his ninth game this season, Miles displayed bits and pieces of the broad repertoire that had scouts fawning over him as a rookie. We see a nice ball fake at the goal mouth, smooth and easy footwork in the post and, of course, an impressive mid-range step-back over the outstretched arms of King James. Miles didn’t just score his first NBA basket in nearly three years, but he posted 13 points, hitting 4-6 and getting to the stripe seven times in about 13 minutes.

The Cavs gave the Grizzlies a pounding, but that didn’t stop Miles from doing his signature Nogin Knock (around 0:53) at the end of the third quarter. Miles saw mostly garbage time minutes, but he played well enough to warrant more playing time when the Grizz visit the Jazz this Friday. And we all know what that will mean…

that was a nice little move on Bron at the end on baseline.

Yo, he hit Bron with a nasty step back move. He can still play.

I’d love to see Darius take his game as far as he can take it. He could be sitting at home collecting a check or maybe played some euro ball or something, but he loves the NBA game, and you just have to love that he’s making a run in the face of all the controversy.

Seems like this head-bumping thing never gets old. Signature move. Can’t wait the next Grizzlies – Knicks match up. D-Miles and Q-Rich on the same court will bring back some good ‘ol memories.

If you can score 13 points, your injury probably wasn’t career ending.

  • Todd Spehr

All the crap aside, it’s good to see him out there and hopefully he stays healthy

    Co-sign Todd Spehr.

Though the Blazers weren’t fined for the e-mail, they’ll be “fined” $9 Million really soon.
    Head tappin for errbody!

So he gets injured and a doctor labels the injury “career ending”. Then he comes back….but why not with the Blazers? They’re paying his salary now (with the 10th game), so why can he play somewhere else? Shouldn’t they have his rights?
I’d love to think it’s a new career for him, but only time will tell. I’m just really not a fan of the trail of garbage he left when he left the league the first time.

I had to do a double take when he started playing like that last night. Nice post moves and nice step back. Hope his hops come back with more playing time. Very stoked for D-Miles that he had a good showing even with the loss
