Video: LeBron’s Travel, and DeShawn’s Continued Dislike of Him

by Marcel Mutoni

According to LeBron James, what he did last night in the waning moments of the Cavs/Wiz game was perfectly legal. Hell, he trademarked it. So don’t even try to steal it! It’s called a “crab dribble”, whatever that means, and here it is, for your viewing pleasure:

With all due respect, Mr. Crab, that sure looks like a travel to me.

One person who enjoyed the call more than others was Washington’s DeShawn Stevenson. Here’s what he had to say about it and the man who committed the violation, via the DC Sports Bog:

“I don’t care,” DeShawn said. “It’s whatever. I don’t like him. I don’t like that dude.”

Caron Butler brushed off DeShawn’s comments and said this “feud” is going to be life-long (fun!), and besides, he was far too busy thanking God for the refs finally calling a travel on Mr. James.

Wow I’m apalled and pissed at all this Lebron Jock hugging, c’mon people he’s not that good the media is just trying to put him on a level that he’s not earned, he’s a okay player but far from great, oh and one more thing: His shoes sucks big time.

  • ClydeSays

C’mon! He’s a superstar! Give him the SUPERSTAR calls! Wade, Kobe, LeBron. They need and want your phantom calls!

Sorry LeBron. You are one of my fave players and all but that is indeed a TRAVEL. Crystal clear…

  • Jackie Moon

Even Brian Windhorst, Cavs beat writer, agrees that it was a travel!

It doesn’t matter anyway, Lebron is still one of the best.

  • Logan

earlier in the fourth quarter, no way that gets called. With the game on the line, the refs were not going to mess up a blatant travel. It looks worse than it actually is, looks like he has taken more than 3 steps because of the hop. It was a travel.
Lebron will probably light up the Wiz next time.
Can we move on now please?

Karma for the travel in ’06. The Wizards just wish that the refs made that call in a meaningful game instead of a game in a season where the Wiz are counting down the days until the Blake Griffin sweepstakes. If you’re a Wizards’ fan you have to be sick… out of all the years they could have been a lottery team they picked the worst one.

Then again, there’s still a lot of season left. And who knows, maybe this whole crustacean bounce thing will change their season…

Definitely a travel. He was talking to me when he gave his explanation. Great game. Mad drama when these teams play.

  • Bruno

worst than the ugly toddler travel is coming up cursing the referee for calling it
man, all games are televised nowadays… we can see it again on video.
    james is effin ridiculous

When did “the jump step” become legal and why? If a player picks up his dribble and takes a step then does that “jump step” it’s already 3 steps then some players take another step. Come on folks, every few years kids enter the NBA doing illegal moves and the L adjusts to them b/c they are the future….Just like some “assists” these days aren’t really assists. A pass to a jump shooter…where is the advancement to the hoop. I love CP3 but some of his steals aren’t steals, they are turnovers. The one he broke the record on was a turnover that rolled to him. lol.

I love to watch the players complain even when it is obvious they are wrong.

davidR; Thx for reminding about that Guru track, it’s a classic.
    Khalid: “Here”
Topic; About time somebody called LeBron’s BOLTing around, as much as I’m hugging you gots to stay true to the rules.
PS: Bring back handchecking, this guard-friendly-DevinHarris-and-TonyParker-can-average 25-because-they’re-quick-and-nobody-can’t-touch-them-stuff have been going on for to long (mind you coming from a fellow PG).

Dam all these deshawn stevenson haters.” He’s jus hating on lebron cause he’s not as good as him” blah blah blah u yall act like deshawn says something about lebron after every game. When they play deshawn just lets it be known he dont like that n**ga dam its that simple it really aint hatin its just two people who dont like each other. And you really gotta know the whole story before u hate on deshawn. CANT FEEL MY FACE!

a “jump step” or jump stop as it is often called after one step is perfectly legal, if you leave the ground with one foot then the second foot that touches the ground becomes your pivot foot, and as long as that foot stays on the ground you can lift up and put down the other foot as much as you want. LeBron did travel but if his feet touched and left the ground at the same time, or if his lead foot stayed on the ground and left the ground last then he would not have traveled. He did travel, but he had a good idea.

Bron just dusted his shoulders off

Most of the people who aren’t getting up in arms about the travel have not had their favorite team consistently screwed by Lebron’s BS. It is not that Lebron is the best player in the NBA (which he is not, I would rank him third) and deserves to have the refs/ the L treat him with kids gloves (For further proof, watch any playoff series where Lebron gets fouled hard once and pusses out, and after that it never happens again in the series, for SOME reason). It is the fact that he gets away with MURDER on the court, travels and gets an and-1, then the opposing team gets hosed when they do the same thing on the other side. In any Wiz/Cavs game Caron, AJ, or Gibby will get hacked to pieces in the 4th quarter with nary a whistle, but Lebron travels all the time when he drives, gets hit, and it counts. If the refs called it the same then I would not have a problem, but anyone who watched the debacle that was the Christmas game or any of the Wiz/Cavs playoff series’ and then gets all bitchy about how Lebron does not travel that much (AllenP “cough cough”) is full of crap. I HATE Lebron, too many people have anointed him as the NBA’s savior and the dude has yet to pay his dues to the league, he is a cheesy-ass punk and everyone who does not think this is a big deal I cannot wait until the Cavs play your favorite team and beat them on illegit fouls.

    Wiz, keep it up.

    D-Steazy is a prophet!

LeBron said he watched the play 10 times. I think he has a trouble with numbers and counting generally. THE END.

  • boogster

ha, lebron lies straight faced, A CORRUPT KING, fits good for any monarchy

  • Fitzy

hop step with one extra quickie is no travel my friends

    Winslow
Did I come off bitchy? Pardon little old me.
But, like I said earlier, you can’t complain about some non-calls and not complain about others. If the refs called the game exactly according to the rules, it would be terrible in my mind. That’s not ball.
When you play pickup ball, you let certain things slide. You can’t call travel after you give a guy a forearm shiver that moves his pivot foot, but he doesn’t call for ball. That’s the way the game works. The refs could have called an obvious blocking foul against the Wizards on one of the those game winners, but let it slide. They could have called a pushing foul, but let it slide. Buy you want them to call a travel after Lebron slid his right foot to gather himself and go up strong against David Ruffin. That doesn’t seem just to me.
