Video: Turkoglu Ties the Series

by Marcel Mutoni

He struggled mightily with his shot throughout the first three games of the series, but with his team needing him to come up huge last night, Hedo Turkoglu delivered.

Three of the four Magic-Sixers First Round battles have now been decided by game winning shots:

He’s not an All Star player yet, but he’s got balls. I’ll give him that.

No one wants to high five JJ Reddick, hahahahaha!

  • Manumaniac

Who cares about JJ Redick anyway…

Turkoglu has been around forever so it’s funny when people say he’s not an all-star ‘yet’. He might not make an all-star appearance in his life, but he’s been playing at an all-star level for a minute.

Heeeedoooo! He’s clutch. If they’re not gonna use Howard late in the game, Hedo has to take over.

  • Fat Lever

Not sure why Thad backed off of Hedo there, I’d make him drive. Nice shot though, gotta give him that. He’s going to have to work on his celebration though.

    who knew? HE-DO!

    great vid!! thanks for it.

  • Prison Mike

Fat Lever is right. When there is 2 seconds left, close in because he’s not gonna drive.

  • Young C

Thad Young shaving points giving up the uncontested 3. Inexcusable

    Doyouwantmore,
When I mentioned that Turkoglu isn’t an All Star player yet, I meant that he hasn’t been chosen to participate to an All Star Game yet. Of course I believe that Hedo is an All Star caliber player and if I didn’t think so then I wouldn’t use the term “All Star” in the first place.

That play is a classic example why Orlando will go nowhere. Hedo should attack the goal but instead just waits while the clock winds down and jacks up a three.

wow, orlando magic crowds are really tame. ive been to one of their home games against the jazz and its not good ya’ll fan support sucks there. go to h town or san an where crowds get ridiculously loud when great shots are made like tht. no wonder home court for them hasnt really been of much help.

  • NAS

the defender had no option cuz hedos mid range game is sweet as well – he gave him a difficult shot and hedo drained it – might or might not be an all star but definetly a VERY GOOD player that has the moxy to take big shots and believe he can make them even if the shots arent falling for him

  • Kas

rob: would you cheer if someone made a shot like that against your team? They’re in Philly, of course the crowd didn’t erupt in celebration!!

Maybe it was the wrong decision by Thad, but I’m OK with allowing a guy who’s scored 13 points through four games to put up a contested, fallaway three in the closing seconds.

  • rob

oh my bad srry but orlando still sucks

  • luke

”I think in this situation you have to foul”

I think in this situation you don’t.

  • luke

    @rob…What an idiot lol

Magic fan here..they’re in PHILLY!!!!And the playoff games are stupidly loud, been to both and going tomorrow,Blue & White Ignite!!

  • luke

Yeah 4th best record in the nba…must suck huh.Idiot.

It’s stupid to criticize Hedo for taking an open jump shot. When Iggy hit the game winner in Game 1 with Hedo’s hand in his face it was a great play, and this is a bad one? Give me a break.

  • http://galatasaray.org madamerica

Orlando’s biggest offensive strength is perimeter play. Howard is not a great passer and he’s turnover prone, plus he’s not a great FT shooter. I don’t agree that Orlando’s offense must run through Howard on every possession. If he was a good passer like Shaq then yeah, but not yet. Howard is the DPOY, his most significant contribution is rebounds and blocks. He cannot carry the team offensively. When he tries to do that Orlando loses, like in Games 1 and 3 when Howard had +30 points.

With all the game winners we have seen lately (Ben Gordon, Hedo, the ne AI, Thad Young), I got a new slogan for the league.
    NBA: Where having balls happen.

  • http://IjustWantMyNameToLookBig.com Chukaz

    I ment the new AI

The new AI > the old AI

I know it worked out, but Turkoglu off the dribble for a fade away 3? If I’m Philly, I’d live with that shot 99% of the time. Hedo is v.good spot up shooter, but that play was a longshot.

That’s the best Van Gundy could do with 15 seconds on the clock?

idc what he does, he’s still Hedon’t to me
