I’ve never been a big Dahntay Jones fan, and yall know how I feel about Kobe, but I don’t like this kind of stuff.
The trip was fairly blatant on replay but at full speed it was pretty tough to see, it was dirty, but I’ll give some respect for being crafty about it (which is how Kobe gets away with throwing bows and whatnot) The shove in the back was worse to me. Getting shoved in the air like that sucks, its a helpless feeling and can result in fairly serious injury, its generally just a sh1tty move. The trip was dirty too, but more of a split second reaction to getting beat on a cut than running up to shove a guy from behind while he’s in the air.

Shouldn’t the Mamba…..the fastest, most dangerous snake in existence, be able to slide out of the way of these terrible crimes against humanity without much fear of being caught up? Slippin’ a little snake boy?

Dahntay is garbage and has more often than not let his defense yield fouls rather than stops. however, i hope he keeps getting minutes as i love watching stuff like this brew

Refs probably see it but not taking action. Often times this happens in the playoffs n the star player gets the benefit. Just take a look at the LA/Houston series for proof. Kobe prob does sneakier stuff that just goes unnoticed.

the elbows and slaps that kobe throws at dahntay however is not addressed.

Nor is the yelling at the ref that NORMALLY results in a Tech. Refs may not have seen the trip (which looks blatant), but if KMart or anybody else had yelled at a ref the way Kobe did, they’d be t-ed up. the NBA sucks.

I’m not the world’s biggest Lakers fan, but the stuff you say about Kobe is over the top to say the least, Eboy.

True that at regular speed you can’t see the trip. Makes you wonder how much “aggressive” play went on back in the day. Actually doesn’t make you wonder, we all know it was a bang-fest. But I like what Benates said – sorry but it’s true and if there are eventual consequences to be faced then so be it. Also Coilkstar hit it on the head, a shove in the back in the air ain’t right no matter how pissed you are at the guy. At the end of the day would you rather see hard core playoff basketball or a bunch of mini skirts and high heels out there…. You be the judge. 2009 has not disappointed yet.

Oh and Eboy gets better the more mocho-choco-frappa-lattes he has.

Eboy… I agree with most of what you say and I do appreciate your words here, but come on… looking at the vid right here, that was just dirty of Dahntay’s part. Kobe was right to get pissed off and I’m sure the lack of tech was a result of the refs realizing they blew it on the trip.

It was a dirty play, no doubt. That’s a Duke trademark.
