Video: Rondo vs Hinrich; NBA to Intervene?

by Marcel Mutoni

Game 7 of the über-classic Bulls/Celtics is set for Saturday night, but the question remains: Will two of the main players take part in the battle?

Kirk Hinrich and Rajon Rondo got tangled up last night – after Rondo shoved Hinrich into the scorers’ table – and even though both players remained in the game, it’s unclear if the League will take any disciplinary action prior the decisive showdown tomorrow night.

Take a look at the video below and decide for yourselves:

Suns fans brace yourself. This will not end well for you.

  • http://yahoo Daanswer

    1) Hinrich WOULD NOT beat rondo in a fight.
    2) The bulls have been hitting us as much as we hit them, so chill with the “Rondo’s dirty” Talk…..
    3) If Rondo gets suspended, so does Kirk. Fine Rondo, and let the men play ball.
    4) Celtics in 7- and even though I dont like the Bulls, this has been the best series ever…..

  • http://coco-vents.blogspot.com Co Co

Rondo might have gotten his behind whipped last night. Kirk has some built up frustration.

Hmmm, still not sure about Hinrich winning that one. I guess he is a little bigger than Rondo. But people who get extremely hyped up and animated before they fight usually end up on the ground. Rondo with the advantages in length, quickness and hand size would lead me to pick him in a matchup. Then again, there’s the whole rollerskating thing…

Has there ever been anyone who was so annoying and cheap for a playoff series that it overshadowed the fact that they’re avg. a triple double for the series. Congrats Bow Wow!

  • D12FSU

Dwight gets suspended for giving Dalembert a “love tap” and Rondo doesnt get anything for FISH HOOKING MILLER!! if this doesnt result in a suspension for Rondo after what happened in game 5……then im calling some serious bull

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Daanswer: Yeah, yer right, a dude whose twenty pounds lighter and two inches shorter and has had muscle and strength issues on scouting reporters is going to beat up a dude known for his scrappiness and tough-as-nails attitude. Gottttcha.

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

Kirk is a tough dude though, I gotta give him that. A couple games back he took a nasty spill and got a cut above his eye, but really didn’t react like it hurt that bad. The more I think about it, that couldve been a tremendous welterweight matchup.

  • bakers-dozen (12-13_

If it were KMart doing what bozo head Rondo did, he’d be out for 15 games.

The league really needs to start enforcing the dress code. :)

  • http://www.manutd.com Z

Kirk is a tough dude indeed. But ain’t no punk in Rajon. It would be close. Rajon plays bigger than he is and is ALWAYS in the paint amongsts the trees fighting for boards or taking it strong.

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

I totlaly agree Z, I think only Jukai thinks Kirk would’ve just mashed Rondo. I would actually lean towards Rondo if I had to pick, but its a very close call.

They lucky they didn’t fight cause Hinrich was about to beat the brakes of Rondo’s ass.

Hinrich would have killed Rondo right there on the court.

Can’t we just let them duke it out, and who ever’s left standing gets to play? My moneys on hinrich, he looked like he was gonna tear rajon’s head off.

Yeah, Hinrich looked like he was going to rip Rondo’s face off…His eyes burned a hole through me while I was watching the game.
    ————————
Yep, it’s just me who thinks that, just me

  • http://www.realcavsfans.com Anton

Wait, are there weapons in this fight? Cause you give Rondo a gun and hit shot get shaky like Lindsay Lohan thinking about men.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com Izzo

Just watching it there,Hinrich looked ready to get arrested.I agree with Jukai.

Video no longer available to NBA copyright claim?

    No Balls Association.

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

I think Hinrich would have gotten worked by Rondo.
Rondo might be slim, but he ain’t frail.

  • http://www.shawn-kemps-offspring.blogspot.com/ TADOne

Allen just thinks that cause Kirk is white. Admit it….

  • carter

stern had the video pulled. shocker

  • cdef28

Brett your right I just don’t understand how they allow the smallest guy on the court jack up one of their bigs and let him get away with it

  • Matt

Hinrich was about to whoop up on Rondo. I think Hinrich would have won that one.

  • Rich

Daanswer, now how in the world can you say the Bulls are hitting the C’s the same way???? Are you serious? You got the Bulls getting knocked around all over the place. I’ll list all of them (in no particular order):

    1) Gordon gets knocked flat on his back Game 4
    2) Hinrich gets tripped by Rondo Game 5, requiring stitches
    3) Miller – we all know what happened
    4) Rondo took Hinrich’s arm and slung him against the scorer’s table

I know I forgot something, but dude, get real. Bulls in 7, and then end of the fake dynasty that is the C’s (Starbury scared out of his mind)

  • Arthur

Rondo should be fined, because I don’t see getting him a suspension based on what he did in the previous games in this series. In a fight, my money would have been on Hinrich, period. The looks in his eyes, man THAT was something !!!

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Thanks for making that joke TAD, my finger’s been itching on the trigger for hours.

  • http://slamonline.com Russ Bengtson

    Kirk would have murdered Rondo.

  • http://mindyourbusiness@getalife.com Allenp

    TAD
    I’ll admit that’s part of it…
    lol
But, also, I remember Hinrich in college, and he never seemed tough back then. I think the unis got y’all fooled. All that red and what not.
Now, I think Ghostface in Portland could handle his business with most any big man in the league. That’s a tough looking white boy.
And, not to get all TADONE on y’all, but Rondo has some big shoulders for a little dude, that’s punching power right there.

  • jp

    Hey Rich -

Daaanswer would know i mean, he is one of them! tell me daaaanswer, how hard have the bulls been hitting YOU and YOUR teamates out there? does rondo trip YOU during practice too? rondo is dirty…so we aren’t going to be chilling with that talk. i mean stop being so blind and just look at his piece of work this series, between the tripping, punching, throwing, elbowing….come on!!!! that’s not a basketball play…none of them were.

  • jp

it’s funny how “tough” rondo is perceived as being because he can play dirty…what happened to his “toughness” when he almost fell backwards trying to run away from hinrich last night? probably because he was just setting his feet to fire in another good right hook like the one he gave bmiller huh? or maybe he was avoiding the fight…right…that’s why he threw kirk off the floor in the first place, bc there’s no place in basketball for boxing out good rebounders…tripping and elbowing on the otherhand…now that’s some real ball for ya

  • tenorca

Hinrich was rabies-style frothing there. Never fight a crazy person. They will win.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Allenp: The scariest white dude in the L is Big Z. Did you see Davis crapping his pants when Z lifted him off the floor and placed him against the support of the backboard? Now that it takes a lot to unnerve Davis, I just thought it was really funny.
I thought the Vanilla Gorilla was tough too, until I saw the dude pretty much cower when punched in the chest by Chandler.

  • Tommy Patron

Punching power does not come from deltoid muscles.

  • http://www.rich-imaging.com Dutch Rich

I like the physical nature of this years playoffs. And I think most of you who have been complaining the past few years agree with that. Let them keep playing.

  • tenorca

The scariest white dude in the league is Birdman, if only because I’m pretty sure he’s on PCP at all times.

  • http://sfdjilf.com Jukai

Yeah, I forgot about Birdman. BBBrrrRRR. I think Robert Swift is also scary, but not because he’d beat anyone in a fight, but he looks like a dude that would you to your car and stab you with a needle so you’d pass out, then you’d wake up in his basement and he’d torture you for weeks.

  • http://www.slamonline.com wayno

Just throwing this out there…Ron Artest vs. Dennis Rodman in a fight…who wins?

  • bakers-dozen (12-13_

Rodman…he may LOSE the initial fight, but after bleeding on Artest, who knows what kind of diseases Ron Ron would end up with…

    rodman gets last laugh…

  • http://www.slamonline.com wayno

    ^ lol, nice.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

Rodman was a freak, superb build but still slight in physique compared to Ron. Worm was stronger than he looked though (right, Shaq?) but most of his power was in his legs. So unless he’s been secretly working on martial arts type kicks, Ron Artest would pummel him.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

Oh and i am SURE Stephon is praying that Rajon does not get suspended. Dude is playing scared in limited minutes already, y’all think he wants any part in an extended stint in a game 7? Too bad really, here’s a chance for him to show he truly wants it (as he always claimed in NYC) and he passes on open shots and hardly drives to the hoop with the intent of scoring. This from a seriously powerfull scoring PG.

  • http://www.slamonline.com wayno

Let’s be reminded that Rodman was on a whole different level of crazy than any one currently in the league too…That holds some bearing in the fight.

  • http://www.slamonline.com wayno

Yeah, Steph has played very tentatively. I think he’s still got it in him to be a good player, he’s just gotta start being more aggressive.

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

But then again, Dennis never felt the urge to break any bones in MJ’s body in his 3 years of practicing with him in the late 90′s. Ron Artest on the other hand, commited the ultimate sacriledge by cracking dem Ribs in a scrimmage (allegedly)

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

    You cannot underestimate RonRon’s craziness

  • http://ittakesanationofmillionstoholdthissac.blogspot.com ciolkstar

    Oh, and Steph = dunzo

  • Feng

    Rondo sucks

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

my sentiments exactly, ciolk. On both accounts.

  • http://www.slamonline.com wayno

I’m not saying Steph could be at the level he was, but I think he could posibly be a solid backup.

  • Feng

D12FSU has the best post on here

  • http://www.lkz.ch Darksaber

he had a few months to be a “solid backup”. See the slightly stocky build PF on the C’s bench? His name is Glen Davis. He was a backup, then the batsh*t crazy starting PF got hurt, and he’s been learning the ropes quite well. Now? Dude is taking taller defenders to the rim, and hitting clutch J’s in OT.
THAT’s how ya use your chance.

  • vtrobot

who gave pierce those stiches last night? i don’t think their hand ended up being that close to the ball. are they a “dirty” player now like rondo supposedly is? it’s the playoffs. stop with the whining. you want all the games called way tighter with dozens of free throws and people fouling out? after the C’s win the next game, can we start another important discussion about whether scal could beat down marcin gortat?

  • person

i say rondo gets suspended cuz he started it
