Slamadaday: Anthony Randolph on Luke Zeller

Randolph can go home.

Randolph tied the Vegas Summer League single-game scoring record with 42 points, netting three at the end of the first half after this and one. Does Anthony Randolph want to know he shares the record with Von Wafer and Marcus Banks?

I remember the game Wafer got 42. But yeah, Randolph needs to be traded somewhere he won’t be riding the pine.

I thought it was illegal to film summer games because players “aren’t in shape.”

  • davidR Posted: Jul.15 at 12:08 pm
please nellie, don’t keep him in the doghouse. dude can ball. monta/morrow/jax/randolph/biedrins as the solid starting 5… hopefully.

ben, luke zeller? oh finally a 5 page feature on luke zeller!

  • Esco Posted: Jul.15 at 12:21 pm
@Prison Mike: NBA Summer League games and high school basketball camp scrimmages are not the same. These dudes are in shape, they’re playing for a spot on a NBA roster. Before taking a jab at LeBron (which is what you were trying to do), make sure it is on a post relative to the issue. Now you just look like an idi..ahem..like you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Oh, he’s a dallas area product? Oh okay, I figured- what, with the bunnies and all.

  • riggs Posted: Jul.15 at 12:32 pm
i guess he’s practicing that dwight howard “dunk”

  • underdog Posted: Jul.15 at 12:52 pm
Those Von Wafer and Marcus Banks comparisons must make Raldolph feel real good about himself!

  • Jeff Fox Posted: Jul.15 at 2:00 pm
Dude is a freak. Saying he is “long” is an understatement.

  • James Posted: Jul.15 at 2:08 pm
    @Jeff Fox: pause

  • Luke Posted: Jul.15 at 2:13 pm
Zeller should have contacted LeBron and found out how to destroy ALL evidence.Step your game up Luke!

  • Jeff Fox Posted: Jul.15 at 2:13 pm
    Shame on you James!

when donny was playing the kid, he was killing. He needs more PT this year and I think he’ll get it. play wit it.

  • niQ Posted: Jul.15 at 3:20 pm
someone needs to stop posting as me…

  • Prison Mike Posted: Jul.15 at 4:16 pm
I was not taking a jab at LeBron. He did nothing wrong. I was quoting the Nike employee.

    1. Nice Dunk
2.Is it me? Or do Summer League commentators have something wrong with them. I nearly fell asleep just listening to that guy, and the Orlando summer league commentators never actually commentated or actually talked about basketball except from how rubbish the game was

  • Simmy Sosa Posted: Jul.15 at 6:34 pm
This is the same announcer that did the Olympics. I like him. Don Nelson never fails to amaze me with the talent he allows to rot on his bench. Everyone knew the Golden State needed a PG last year, meanwhile Marcus Williams is actually under the dog house. They say he’s not a good defender but IT’S FREAKIN GOLDEN STATE!! Now he’s finally going to get some burn in Memphis.

  • Adam Warren Posted: Jul.15 at 7:03 pm
    throw in….

  • [...] – Wanna see a video of Ant throwing one down on Chicago’s summer league team? This isn’t quite a dunk, but it’s more than sick. This is straight swine flu. (SLAM ONLINE) [...]

as a basketball fan, i’m just furious that he’s being wasted in oakland. nellie doesn’t have a clue how to properly develop this guy. he has ALL-NBA talent. seriously, his talent level is right there with the durants and the roys. he just needs someone to help him harness his skills. that’s not nellie.

  • Hursty Posted: Jul.15 at 10:23 pm
Von Wafer turned out ok this year though huh. Joe Ingles is playing for that Warriors team. Best of luck to him.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Jul.15 at 11:39 pm
Guys, Von Wafer is a good player.

  • JoeMaMa Posted: Jul.15 at 11:55 pm
I thought they were in rebuilding mode, yet they don’t play Wright, Belinelli, Randolph, Williams…I don’t know. I feel like there was ALOT of sneaky backroom stuff happening last year.
Don Nelson went from Mad Genius to Prick really fast.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Jul.16 at 12:15 am
I like how the Warriors were scrambling to find a point guard after letting Baron walk and after
Monta got injured, but ended up getting Jamal Crawford, another slasher/perimeter scorer that they already have about 8 of… All while Marcus Williams was RIGHT THERE on the bench..

  • rob Posted: Jul.16 at 2:49 am
dont forget bout my boy steph CURRY! he’s yer new point. play wit it

  • c dawg Posted: Jul.16 at 10:40 am
he gonna be playin wit marco on the bench

  • Waylonakolipse Posted: Jul.16 at 3:50 pm
Randolph is gonna be a game changer and eventually an all-star.

  • Double-You Jay Posted: Jul.16 at 7:13 pm
    did he cry after that?

  • davidR Posted: Jul.16 at 8:10 pm
haha w-j, randolph always looks like he’s about to cry

  • davidR Posted: Jul.16 at 8:11 pm
not sure what it was, but whenever marcus was on the floor he played terribly. and belinelli gets a lot of playing time, but he was injured the entire second half of the season

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Jul.16 at 8:27 pm
Ah. That would PARTIALLY explain it lol.

  • nosmelone Posted: Jul.16 at 9:22 pm
That was sick but it wasn’t a dunk. It looks like he just happend to throw it in the hoop while getting fouled. He was at least 3 inches away. Maybe its the anle but that didn’t look to me like a dunk.

  • davidR Posted: Jul.16 at 11:22 pm
yea teddy, he forced a lot of shots and tried to make a bunch of plays when he was on the floor so he looked like isht. i’m sure it was to impress nellie (the same way sarunas played while with the warriors), but there’s only so much fighting for playing time you can do if you’re only playing 3 minutes every 15 games.

  • nate the great Posted: Jul.17 at 12:10 am
i like this kid, him and batum are my top 2 fav. sf’s. play wit it.

  • Blinguo Posted: Jul.17 at 8:04 am
Alright Anthony. Just remember not to scream at Yaoza and get the T like last year. Keep the fire though, or turn and scream while going downcourt. Not that Yao cares or anything. Just live and learn.

  • MillionDollaMindz Posted: Jul.17 at 12:21 pm
^ Check it out I like this kid game.. Walsh need to unleash him this year !
