No other perimiter player will ever have the same playing resume, effect on the game, and singular accomplishments that Michael did. The best ever? Bet on Black.

  • Ryne Nelson Posted: Sep.11 at 11:52 am
Tears. Can’t thank Rtbulls enough for putting this together today. He’s been representing the Bulls right since the beginning.

    Total respect to hid Greatness!

*sheds a tear* MJ is the GOAT, no doubt. :)

  • LeoneL Posted: Sep.11 at 12:07 pm
B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L! on a different note: Have you guys heard Pat Riley’s suggestion for the NBA to retire the number 23?

    now that tribute is Money.

  • Wayno Posted: Sep.11 at 12:28 pm
@ LeoneL – I think that’s a great idea. Nobody should sport that number, it’s sacred. Just like #99 in the NHL.

  • Ben Osborne Posted: Sep.11 at 12:28 pm
    Awesome.

  • LeoneL Posted: Sep.11 at 12:34 pm
@Wayno, That’s what Pat said. I too think it’s a great idea. The HEAT retired the number and the GOAT never played for them so it should be no problem for other teams (except maybe for Cleveland..lol).

  • Young Chris MP3 Posted: Sep.11 at 12:42 pm
I believe that #23 should be retired by every team. Sort of like baseball did where Mariano Rivera continues to wear his number since it was league-retired after he began wearing it.

EBoy: Shouldn’t it be bet on RED for this instance? IIRC the Bulls had a horrible record with those black jerseys.

  • Tzvi Twersky Posted: Sep.11 at 12:46 pm
    Respect Paid.

  • Eboy Posted: Sep.11 at 12:52 pm
Well, Black was a nickname he went by, so that was the reference point.

  • Brad Long Posted: Sep.11 at 1:07 pm
Congrats, MJ. Classy move by picking David Thompson too.

  • Allenp Posted: Sep.11 at 1:17 pm
    Well, that was wonderful.

  • Simon S.Y Lawy Posted: Sep.11 at 1:19 pm
    Respect …

  • niQ Posted: Sep.11 at 1:57 pm
    Respects! Congrats!

Great stuff… but there’s a boatload of repeated footage in those videos. Dude couldn’t find more JORDAN footage? Really?

  • Jake Posted: Sep.11 at 5:24 pm
Ah,just when I thought I was over MJ being retired,he re-opens the wounds.I don’t care what anyone says..there will never be another one like him.Anyone similar is just a copycat and I’m the biggest Kobe fan out there but the imitation is never as good as the real thing.Marcus Jordan-NBA draft 2012?

  • a_whiteman Posted: Sep.11 at 5:48 pm
hes the reason my son is named jordan. If i was deserted on an island and could have 1 movie to watch, it would without a doubt be my ultimate jordan.

  • jaeM. Posted: Sep.11 at 8:14 pm
MJ is the greatest ever, But now watch out for Lebron James.

  • tealish Posted: Sep.11 at 9:31 pm
It was a nice video but I couldn’t help but think those same thoughts, Jukai.
I like the tagline at the end. All too true.

  • tealish Posted: Sep.11 at 9:32 pm
@Jake: Marcus has given up on that dream already.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Sep.11 at 10:38 pm
    Congratulations, Michael Jordan!

  • J.C. Posted: Sep.12 at 12:04 am
I’d love someone to suggest league-retiring #23 just to see LeBron’s reaction. He’d probably immediately think of changing to #24 and when he realised Kobe already had that he’d flip.

  • Lz - Cphfinest3 Posted: Sep.12 at 12:40 am
Simply the greatest ever and it’s not even close. Money was Mike/Mike was Money.

  • Anton Posted: Sep.12 at 1:20 am
@ J.C. not that you care, but he’d change it to # 6

  • Clay Posted: Sep.12 at 4:27 am
Cool video and amazing player. Respect GOAT
I feel very lucky to have been old enough to remember watching his career from ’91 Every team should retire #23 and just let LBJ keep wearing it…

C’mmon people stop putting Mj and Lebron James in the same sentence, please..

  • Anton Posted: Sep.12 at 6:07 pm
Both Michael Jordan and LeBron James enjoy ice cream as a tasty dessert.

  • Damir Posted: Sep.12 at 8:46 pm
    and that’s about it Anton:)

  • airs Posted: Sep.12 at 10:06 pm
okay did anyone else read today’s article on yahoo about MJ being petty?? i acutally missed the cereony but this seemed ridiculously petty itself. sounded like a jazz fan wrote it. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-jordanhall091209&prov=yhoo&type=lgns is he for real?

  • stephaniec077 Posted: Sep.13 at 2:25 am
HAIL TO #23! THE ONE TRUE BASKETBALL LEGEND!

  • Chukaz Posted: Sep.13 at 7:11 pm
My favorite moment of Jordan’s career was when he went back in time and stopped himself from playing for the wizards lol

  • The Promise Posted: Sep.13 at 11:31 pm
Still the best, always will be the best..

  • Erika Badu Posted: Sep.13 at 11:45 pm
overrated, selfish, egomaniac who was coddled by the league and refs his whole career. I hate this man.

  • Teddy-the-Bear Posted: Sep.14 at 12:20 am
    Wait, hold up. Overrated?

  • Jap Rheberg Posted: Sep.14 at 7:34 am
    Nid I Explain??
    He is the greatest!

  • German Reignman Posted: Sep.15 at 5:03 am
Even with speakers off (sitting at work, ahem) I still have the announcers in my head “look at the hangtime, look at the flying motion” …
