Video: KG Beats Knicks at the Buzzer

Garnett had himself a terrible afternoon against the Knick defense yesterday (and was regularly beaten off the dribble by Al Friggin Harrington!), but in the end, all that mattered was that he came through at crunch time:

    Come summer ’10 I have Knicks for one of the worst records in the L, getting number one pick in lottery, but oh, alas they’ve traded away their pick and someone else (whos got that pick?) benefits from their truly awful season. Then Walsh dies from shock when that truly ignorant son of a … realises he aint getting no respectable free agents to put the cherry on top of one of the biggest franchise fcuks up in decades… Oh and if you leave KG in so much space, hes obviously gonna knock it down

    KG is one of my favorite ballers and that was a great shot. But, what kind of screen was that?

    David Lee chose to double Paul instead of sticking with Garnett and paid the price. Way to go!

    Were they switching or what on that last play?
    If they were switching, Wilson Chandler effed up royally. If they weren’t, then what the hell was David Lee doing?
    How can your defense fail to defend the most basic and most popular play in all of basketball on the last second shot after a TIMEOUT?
    If that isn’t horrible coaching then I really don’t know what is.

    Man, y’all are crazy. Garnett barely touched Wilson. Look at him fight over that wack screen. Chandler played great defense if he was supposed to stay with his man. The problem is Lee.
    If the play called for Lee to show hard on the screen to give Chandler time to recover, he’s got to step out harder and put pressure on Pierce to make it more difficult for him to pass back to Garnett easily. If Lee was supposed to give a token show, but really stay with his man, then he failed to do that. Now, Harrington could have done a better job of rotating over from the weakside, but Chandler and Lee have to put more pressure on Pierce to make it tougher for him to see teammates and pass the ball.
    If they were supposed to switch on the play, then Chandler screwed up. The Celtics had run this play from the wing multiple times once Pierce got hot. They had also run it from the top a few times in overtime. The Knicks should have known how they were going to play this. Truthfully, Larry Hughes had done a great job playing Pierce on the screen and roll, so don’t know why he wasn’t guarding him on this play.

    harrington left him open because the play was to double team pierce. the double team was weak and harrington moved down expecting him to come down? (shouldve looked at the clock buddy)

    Knicks rightfully expected Pierce to shoot or drive. Just a nice pass by PP.

    The Knicks don’t have their 10 pick?! (Why am I surprised?) Then why didn’t they sign AI? So dumb.

    Expecting anything out of this franchise is just ridiculous. I’m a C’s fan, but I think Knick fans deserve better. If they get ANY decent free agent in the off season I’ll be shocked.

    That wasn’t a nice. It was a simple pass against a weak and horrible double team, that exposed everybody else on the team.
    When you double team, you double with a purpose, otherwise you’re just effing up your defense.

    Watch the video again.
    Can any of you honestly say that David Lee actually defended anyone on that play. Watch the tape, watch the other Knick players, and be honest about it.

    Yes, David Lee TOTALLY f’ked up. Everyone was playing man to man, there was no need for any rotation by Harrington.

    If it was a pick & roll with Pierce & Kendrick Perkins, yeah you double Pierce. But a p & r with Pierce & Garnett??… *Ed Lover* “C’MON SON!”

    KG sets all his screens like that, and they never call it. It was just a p1ss-poor defensive rotation by NY.

HE WONT LET YOU..I LOVE THE INTESITY, HE REALLY GIVES A SH!T, but hes that very anoying guy when hes not on our team, dont like when he bulies young cats cause thats being a caward..you guys see even when he hits a game winner hes running his mouth and angry as sh!t??the ONLY MOMENT HE SHOWED HAPPINESS WAS WHEN HE WAS CHAMP!

    The consensus is right, why the hell did Lee leave his man and double team Peirce? Leaving KG open? The knicks may have won that game if they played man to man. As C’s fan, The green and white should have won by a greater margin, better FG% would have helped that.
