Video: Ginobili’s Crazy Block on Durant

Last night, Manu Ginobili was one of the men responsible for halting Kevin Durant’s streak of scoring 25+ points at 29 games:

mama! there goes that men!!Ginobili is just amazing..i dont see ANY PLAYER IN THE L having the courage to even try to deny Durant at the rim like that, trailing him and with the obvious dunk hinches away! glad it was not Reggie Miller calling the game, it would have ruined it foshow

  • letsmotor

i would love to have seen barkley’s reaction to this. GINOBLI! GINOBLI!!!

Love the homer announcers. Also a nice reminder that as good as he is, Durant needs to start eating a little more spinach. Going up two-handed, no way that ish should get blocked.

  • Royal

IMO Durant went in there a litttle soft ….

Amazing play which gave the Spurs momentum to win the game. Ginobli was a beast throughout.

  • davidR

SLB, those announcers were pretty terrible

I agree with Ryan and Royal. Hopefully this will stimulate Durant to be a fierce mofo going to the basket. he baby dunks it too often, and this is what happens when you do that.

although, in his defense, the jump was ill-timed and not as explosive because of the hesitation move he made full speed. he should’ve taken another quick dribble to really gather his jump.

Anyone else and Manu is a poster.

  • http://www.bluefont.com Hisham

this is one of those lose on the short term, win on the long term type of experiences for Durant

  • LCD Screen Cleaner

notice how gino goes across durant’s body and manages to completely avoid him. wowza. anyway, i know of penetrators who subsequently developed jumpshots (mike, kobe, bron) but the other way around…i dont really remember any. so i doubt durant will be finishing hard at the rim ever.

could have been the slam of the month. be easy gino.

F you guys. “Anyone else and Ginobili is a poster?”
    C’mon now…

  • erich

    Sh*t happens.
    I think Durant shouldn’t care.
He posterized enough players this season.

Woaahhh the even crazier thing is that Durant is at least 6 inches taller and has a higher vertical than Manu but Manu still gets there! Block of the year!Block of the year!

MANU is top ten in the League.MANU is TOP 10 in the world.
Right now only James and Kobe are better players than him.
    love from the south.

Maaaaaaaaaanuuuuuuuu. If the Spurs lose him…. I don’t want to think about it. He is the only thing that made last night bearable.

It doesn’t surprise me. Ginobili has a knack for ferocious plays… but then again it does surprise me because I thought he wasn’t the same play anymore. Hopefully this gives him a spark and he starts playing good again, and then Parker needs to pick up his slack. If those 2 get it together, and if Jefferson can give us 15 a game with a few athletic plays, we can do it. Damn but Pop needs to put Bogans on the bench

I wish they could have redshirted Ginobili for a couple years and gotten more 40-minute performances out of him. I feel like we won’t really appreciate him until he’s been gone for a few.

  • lucas

Manu is a flopping lil b!tch. That being said, ridiculous block.

  • al

Manu is still an extraordinary player, he is smart, selfless, a good defender, can shoot and drive. He said he won’t play with the Spurs next year as there is not much interest in the organization.
Bye bye Dinasty, it was good seeing you.
PD I still think the Spurs can build a champion contender around Manu, Tony and Tim, the Jefferson deal just did not work. AND THEY NEED SPLITTER!!! who they drafted. Best big man in Europe

  • nastierthanu2

“durant is 5 inches taller and a higher vertical” whoever wrote that needs 2 realize durant may be a tall mofo, but he has the vertical of someone like nowitzki. Abormally huge, check, but pogo hops?? yeah right. that mofo jumped a total of 6 inches-at the most. my 5′ friend has higher hops.

    a lot of people ride on a certain fair-haired argentinan’s d!ck i see…

  • Shem

Durant baby dunks it way 2 much, gotta take it stronger but this IS the block of the year. I was hoping Durant would get 40+ games with 25+. There was an article pre-season saying that Durant’s +/- was terrible for a franchise player and he said he’s just gonna keep putting in work. Gotta love it

  • str8 from samoa

IMO…he went in soft cuz he is soft now…in a few years and 20 lbs more…OH MY GAWD!!!
