I think it’s safe to say that were KG still alive (athletically speaking), there’s no way something like this would ever happen to him. Sigh:

ow. ouch. as a c’s fan, this was hard to watch. ginobes KILLED the c’s. that banked hook/heave 3 pointer summed up the night. c’s 2nd unit, nice job. every person on the 2nd unit looked more confused and more tentative than the next. they all played exactly equally terribly. sheed, you said you were gonna play down in the post more again, right? i think our definitions of “post” must differ. good to at least have PP back. rondo = balling. C’s/MIL could be a lot of trouble. spurs could be very interesting, depending on how tony is. manu is playing better than he’s played in a long time.
haters = loving this.
As a big-time KG fan since he was a rookie, that hurts to see. Because it just further shows how that knee injury has slowed him down and moreso “grounded” him from his old self. 2 years ago, there’s NO way that happens.
Kevin with a rare weak offensive there
3. Block on KG
2. Block on durant
1. Swat a bat
so youre trying to tell me that arms werent touched? and he wasnt brought down?
Hill made a foul.
But KG’s game should be a little bit wiser with more fakes and turns in the post if he isn’t 100%.
I hope he realizes this quick.
Ginobili is still such an exciting player to watch when he’s heatlhy.
LMAO. Couldn’t have happened to a more classless, vile & disgusting human being than Kevin Garnett. Good job Ginoboli
now everybody pick up after ginobili and lets start hard fouling the top dogs. . . Kobe your next!!
the end of kg’s career is gonna be just like the end of c-webb’s
The Batman Strikes again.
While I’m a little sad to see a great player ravaged by age, am I the only one who wishes Ginobili had done his best impression of KG and shouted “GET THAT S**T OUTTA HERE!”?
Manu’s being playing out of his mind since being put into the starting line-up. This makes me happy.
Whats spanish for “stay down, motherf&cker”?
Interesting to see the overall defeated look of KG as he struggled to get up off the floor.
that was an amzing pick and role, aside from getting stuffed. KG is all hype any way. I luv the guy to death, but lets face it, this is his last year with the C’s, and rondo’s the best.
…then Manu stamped one foot on KG’s chest, leaned down towards him and said, “since you are now my pet, i think i’ll call you…. Spot. Welcome to slavery!!” . Damn that was a nasty takedown, Spurs looking dangerous again, and Manu is going bonkers allover the court.
He couldn’t get up at all. Man, age catches up with everybody.
Look at Kobe and KG. Or Iverson. You can see them playing all stiff-legged now. One injury and it’s curtains when you get old. Well, not “curtains” but there are certain things you just can’t do anymore.
oh my god, he just took Garnett’s manhood!
manu shoulda gotten down on all fours and started barking at KG while he was on the floor. cuz we sure as hell know that’s what KG woulda done. drop a couple f’bombs and call him a punk while he’s at it.
Just another advantage of being left-handed!
im happy to see this video garnett deserved this one after all he talks the most s#!+ out of anyone in the league!
the force is strong with you obi wan ginobli
Ginobili is a fu(king special player…this rejection was so bad that Im kind of a KG hater and almost felt sorry for the bigfella
Boing Dynasty: se dice, quedate en el piso cabr*n!!! A murder without Tony Parker. Another late playoff run…
I’m not sure that had much to do with KG’s age or his past knee injuries. It’s not like Kevin jumped and Ginobili stopped him in mid air, blocking a dunk or something. This isn’t Tracy McGrady getting blocked by the rim. Ginobili ran full force to help defend and he got the ball as KG was on his way to the hole.
However: That was PERFECTLY timed by Ginobili. What a block!
George Hill holding Garnett’s arm on that one may have contributed btw
GINOBILI top-30 all-time. GARNETT top-50 ,at least he won something in 2000, not like the most celebrated looser of all time (yeap, i am talking about the world famous Allen “Kournikova of bball” Iverson).
by the way: greeattt block !!!!
Wow Garnett looks worse and worse every game. I think that is a prosthetic leg under that sleeve.
As a left hander myself, I must co-sign Eboy.
Excuse me when I say
Damn Manu! DAMN!!
correction to my previous comment: Garnett was crucial to the 2008 title ,my bad. That happens when you are eager to make one more A.I. reference….
Yikes. KG looks like he got about a five or six inch vertical now. I have to say this though: If KG had blocked Ginobli’s shot the same way he would have stood over him, beating his chest and spitting and talking about Manu’s Mother. How the mighty have fallen.
Since I’m a little older than KG, this video almost makes me sad. Then I remember: it’s KG. Then I get all happy again.
That was rough; I feel bad for Kevin.
Was KG about to cry when he was on the floor? It doesn’t get much better than that. LMAO @ KG (again & again)…oh yea, lol @ all the “I feel bad for KG” comments. Noone should feel bad for that assh*le, he’s got yrs of bad karma that’s catching up to him
It’s hilarious that before you start the video it just shows KG splayed out on the floor.
also, Manu should just bic his head already. His bald spot just keeps growing.
don’t call it a comeback… Spurs starting to look good..
Watch the replay … George Hill fouls KG
No wonder he has back spasms… he should not be throwing down KG in on of the roughest blocks you will see.
Yeah George fouled him but I’m glad they didn’t call it cause it would’ve taken away from Manu’s great play. KG just isn’t himself. He was out on the floor in the 4th when the Spurs kept getting offensive rebounds, one time specifically he was much closer to the ball than anyone else and a Spur still beat him to it. I remember him talking about never taking a possession off and thought either that’s changed or he’s really hurting.
George Hill’s “foul”? He put his hand against KG’s back and that’s it. By that point it was way too late to make a difference. Way to make excuses for Garnett though.
Also you can really, really, really tell that KG has lost a step. He would have been able to slam in a monster dunk if he didn’t need four steps to get to the basket.
@doyouwantmore – I wasn’t even talking about the arm in the back, look at him hit KG’s forearm BEFORE Manu blocks the shot cleanly. I despise KG, too, but that was a case of everyone being mesmerized by Manu’s block and not seeing Hill slap KG’s forearm, which is a part of why he fell.
wow @ these KG fan boys making excuses for their fallen hero. Manu blocked the s*** outta him & KG is old as dirt. Old man Garnett probably DID cry on the court too. But please let’s cut the excuses, there was no foul
Shout out to Nick Galis.
@Ree Roe – Did you even watch the replay? If I could post a screenshot here, I would, with Hills hand firmly on KG’s forearm, before Manu blocks the shot. And I’m a Lakers fan, so it’s tough to see how I could possibly be a KG fan.
Manu is great! Durant an KG are Facebook fans!
stuffed like thanksgiving dinner.
manu, when healthy, is the 2nd best 2-guard in the league (behind kobe)
Damn the players I grow up watching in the 2000′s are all slowing. KG,Nash,Kidd,T-Mac, Vince Carter,Tim Duncan, Shaq, even Kobe but I didn’t imagine the day Iverson wouldn’t be able to cross somebody over because he wasn’t quick enough it happened when the Bulls were facing the Sixers in probably AI’s last game ever and AI tried crossing over Kirk Hinrich to get a shot off but Hinrich didn’t move a inch. DAMN! Sadly Kobe is next.
@Jackie – Yes, Hill fouled Garnett but that had little to do with the outcome. It was the massive block that threw KG down.
ya, uh there was def a foul on hill. five yrs ago, kg woulda smashed that down manus throat
That was an awesome block Manu G is a boss man.
Things done changed. KG would have crammed one on GINO-Buh-LEE a couple seasons back.
i think this play sums up the celtics’ season pretty well. i think it’s highly possible that they won’t even advance past the first round.
“the force is strong with you obi wan ginobli ” – TRUTH.
Eboy is right.
first and foremost, great play by ginobli. that was great help defense and a perfectly-timed block. at the same time, does this really have all that much to do with KG aging? i know it was a very dramatic play and everything, but when you’re in the middle of the air, if someone strong makes contact with you or the ball (especially when the ball’s way above your head), it’s easy to end up on your back. also, it’s worth mentioning that not only did hill make contact with KG’s arm, but he also seemed to be forcing it downward, which definitely had something to do with KG going down.
Really manu top 30 all time. Stay of drugs!!! Happens to the best of em. Everyone gets old anyone remember the dunk kg caught against the rockets when barkley, the dream and drexler were ballin. Its his time to get got but he gave way more than he got. 1st ballot HOF’r
Eboy is mad because Ginboli is South American.
NAh, I’m just playing Eboy.
Since when are we back to slavery here in america? I mean, KG just got owned!!!
^ What the hell? Not okay, man. Seriously..
@Chukaz: gotta agree with teddy-the-bear. over the line.
@ matt: i think the stats would support your argument that manu is the 2nd best 2 guard. @ ree roe, damn dude, where does that much hate come from? did KG talk sh*t to you? if KG and co. knock out your team this year, will you show some respect? your over the top hate is as annoying as the fanboys’ love. who really cares what he says to other players during the game?
@ vtrobot, KG is a punk, bottomline. As a Hawks fan & a fan of professional basketball, KG has disrespected my team & disgraced the game multiple times with his childish & vulgar actions on the court. With all due respect to how good of a player he is/was, it baffles me how anyone can be a fan of that clown.
@ ree roe: as a hawks fan, you probably have one of the better arguments (maybe CHI fans have the best case). i’m not saying that KG hasn’t done sh*t that’s been disrespectful to fans, opponents, the game, etc. not saying that he doesn’t punk out a little when up against people like zsa zsa. just try to let some of his remaining skills and competitiveness, and the good things he’s done for the game, ease some of the deep hate you feel for the dude. it seems like people get so worked up about KG talking shit and grabbing his nuts, and occasionally starting sh*t with someone smaller than him. what else has he really done that’s even close to a ton of sh*te that other players have done? as a fan of basketball, before any team, i have a lot of respect for the hawks and will enjoy watching them go far in this year’s playoffs. besides lacking size, they’re probably the most balanced team in the east, with TWO underrated best closers in the game. It’s going to be entertaining.
Finally, KG just shut his dirty mouth on this play. way to go Manu!
I swear, humanity gets dumber day by day. That foul had little to do with the block? You mean little more than holding KG running to the hole back as George Hill collided with him before Ginobili got there, right? Are we watching the same video?
please don’t argue that hill didn’t commit a foul on that play. part of the reason why manu was able to get such a clean block is because george hill was hanging onto KG’s arm. you’re foolish to say otherwise. i’m liking the increased use of replay (even when they take away rondo treys).
George Hill fouled him that is not up for debate. With that being said, he probably still would have ended up on his back because of the force that Manu came at him with. And any of you that actually have played basketball in real life would know, when you go up off one leg like that, its really easy to end up on your back with the right contact. KG was barely off the ground and Manu was in full flight so he had the advantage.
And what is all this take about karma coming back to KG and all that nonsense. So what he talks crap on the bball court? He’s not the first and definitely won’t be the last. Some of yall act like he walks down the street cursing at old ladies.
@ vtrobot, listen bruh. I’ma keep it all the way real with ya: KG’s a hoe & he’s gonna always be one. Just b/c he’s a 1st ballot HOF’er & was one of the top 5-10 players of the last decade doesn’t grant him a pass for his hoeish behavior. And let’s not get it twisted @dfrance. There’s a difference b/w talkin s*** on the court & behaving like a full fledged lunatic who disrespects players & the game like KG is known to do. Yall KG fanboys can give that idiot a pass all yall want, but I have no love for the caricature he’s become. Damn I wish the Hawks see the Celtics in the playoffs this postseason.
@ ree roe: cool. you can think what you want. as i said, not all of the hate is undeserved, there’s just too much of it for KG overall. it will be great if the C’s and Hawks meet up. i think it will be a real battle and it will be interesting to see if the old men can still hang. and it will be interesting to see how bibby does vs. rondo. hawks fans will be pissed if those teams finish with the same record and the hawks get the harder route to the ECF because of that lame division title rule.
@ vtrobot, I see that you’re a Celtics fan so I understand KG gets a pass from you, but to alot of people & fans of the NBA his act is old. I don’t kno if you appreciate how deeply KG has offended people, but the disdain for KG is real.
Ree Roe- to you it may seem like KG disrespected alot of people, but many people also look up to KG as a one of the fiercest competitors ever. Hes not in the NBA to make friends, hes in it to win championships and be the hardest working player on the court, and in my opinion, hes succeed on both.
FOUL! Haters need to show more respect for KG. He has achieved the highest possible honor in the game of basketball: winning a championship as a Boston Celtic.
well… it has nothing to do with athleticism as the guy who wrote the caption said.. Manu did what any clever defender does who is shorter, try to block the ball early. Even if it was KG as a rookie, Manu would still put a hand on that ball
Ginobilli is not in his prime athletically either. That was awesome
Proving once again that those Americans are soft. ^_^
There is a lot of anti American sentiment on these threads. But that being said, everyone in the entire world knows, recognizes, and understands, that the United States of America is, was, and will continue to be the greatest, most dominant country humanity has ever seen. And anyone who disagrees, they are delusional. Period.
Hey, times change. It used to be an all US-league with one or two soft non-Yanks. Not anymore. Americans are known loud mouths, blow hards, and head cases and they SOFT.
kg was my favourite player for a long time, but i stopped liking him when he strated taunting people.my favourite moment is when he gets dunked on and blocked, but honestly george hill did foul him. even tho manu had all ball in the same moment hill had all arm…
