The ‘Cats are Playoff-bound, but they won’t be there for long if their defense looks like this:

Shouldn’t have to wait for the team to be up for sale to start generating some excitement.
That kid can play. He went off this year against Cleveland.
dammit gerald, why did you wait that 1 second to jump??
This play proves that Gerald Wallace should have been a prop instead of a contestant in the Slam Dunk Competetion.
Just rude, Mr. Thornton. Keep up the good work.
lol at Lz..this was filthy!
I put him on my roster in NBA 2k10 he rips it up on threes and driving to the hoop kids got virtual skill as well.
I like how his teammate scooped him up really quick like nobody was gonna know he got dunked on. I bet the next time out was SOOOOO akward. lol. Ive watched this 11 times in a row.
with AUTHORITY. you had no business jumpin there, Mr. Wallace. You got PUNKD.
Why doesn’t this kid get mentioned with the rest of the rookie class? He’s doin his thing in NO.
Marcus is a baaad dude. Nobody can guard him when he gets in going. The Cavs put Bron on him in that game where he scored 2o something in the second, and he gave him buckets too. He just f*cking bodied GWall vintage BaronDavis style and wrecked on him on his way 36 points. That might actually be my favorite dunk of the year.
marcus is a scoring machine man
man that was just dirty! i love how s.jack is like, “awww snaps!”
Watch out for another concussion Gerald.
flip that dunk was straight gangsta!!!
This is what I call a REAL, nasty dunk. Not like one of those Amare dunks where the defender only gets posterized because Amare’s left hand is all over him. Minimal contact here with the left hand, sure, but nothing over the top. Either way, Gerald Wallace towers over Thornton anyway.
Thornton and Collison have the potential to be the best backcourt in the NBA. Of course, either Collison or Paul is going to be traded eventually.
MAYBE best dunk of the year.
Oh that was nasty – Waiter, a towel for the young man on the floor!
teddy get real dude
How do Thornton and Collison not have the potential to be best backcourt in the NBA?
They’re both just rookies. Thornton can flat out score, and Collison was balling out of his mind with CP3 injured. He’ll be one of the best point guards in the league soon, you’ll see.
Dammmnnnnnnn !!! That was filthy!!
Is it just me or does it seem like there has been a lot of pretty sick dunks lately??
i like both rookies but thats simply not happening…Miller/Roy-Brooks/Martin-Billups/Aflalo-BaronDavis/EriGordon-Jameer/VC-Jamal/JJohnson-Nash/J-Rish-Parker/Ginobili…I COULD BE HERE ALL NIGHT…lol
somebody get a death certificate for G-Force. PLS
Teddy – no.
I’d take Westbrook/Durant and Westbrook/Harden over those two guys. Remember R/W is only in HIS second year.
Heck, I’d even take Aaron Brooks and Chase Budinger over Thornton/Collison.
I’m not saying the pair aren’t bad – they’re very good, but not as good as other combo’s.
Also, you should’ve clarified, is it rookie backcourt? 2nd years, 3rd years? etc etc.
I politely, and completely, disagree.
I said future backcourts, H.
And I forgot about Westbrook/Durant somehow, but Durant is more of a Small Forward.
And Westbook/Harden is definitely NOT better than Collison/Thornton. I like Harden and I think he’ll be very good but Thornton is just flat out better right now. Collison is on par with Russell Westbrook too, at least statistically, when he gets burn (ie Chris Paul being out).
Brooks/Martin yes, Miller/Roy yes, but I’m talking about potential here–the future.
Sporting Lisbon: Are you serious? I’m talking backcourts, meaning point guards and shooting guards together. Billups and Afflalo? AFFLALO?!
And I was talking about potential, too. Meaning the future. Miller/Roy is not going to last THAT long and Ginboli/Parker is a pretty old backcourt, relatively speaking.
“Fo’ the dunk contest mofo!!”
And uhm, dunno where to link this really, but you should all check this out.
A beautiful pass leads to a swedish baller shattering the backboard, and the fans (in Greece) goes insane with a really WTF-looking dance!
@Vikturus – that’s a nice vid, but that this really tells me is they need better backboards in Sweden.
if your PG can score Aflalo is a great 2 guard.
Thornton >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Aflalo and it’s not even close. Come on, Sporting.
oh myyyy goodness.
rofl. i love how a guy from crowd just starts partying on the court then everyone else follows. bahahahaha.
Fair enough Teddy.
But then you go and talk about “young” and add Andre Miller and Brandon Roy? Roy is 25ish already, and Miller is in his early 30′s. That can’t be right.
@JoeMaMa – why? If that’s your opinion, cool, I’ll respect it. But Budinger is 6’7 / 6’8. He’s very athletic and a decent shooter from deep, and he’s adept at coming off screens for mid-range shots. Not Rip Hamilton great, but certainly above average. He has the “potential” to be a very good defender under the tutelage of Battier and others on that squad, and just having his natural athleticism has made him serviceable – he defended PP34 the entire 4th quarter last week.
Like I also said, Collison/Thornton combo is very, very good. I just think that Brooks/Budinger have the potential to, in 3-4 years be just as good/if not better.
If you’re ignoring age, then the Jennings/Salmons back-court has to be considered. Salmons will be 33ish in a few years time, but Jennings will be coming into his own. It’s not as though John has ever really relied on his athleticism either.
Eric Gordon/Baron Davis?
Curry and Morrow? Curry and Williams?
Evans + whoever.
Just some ideas.
No no, I’m saying Miller/Roy is one of the best backcourts in the league right now, but Collison and Thornton have the POTENTIAL to be the best back court in the future.
And as much as I like Buddinger, the backcourt for Houston is going to be Brooks/Martin for a long time.
You’re smoking something if u think Budinger is gonna be better than Thornton. What can Budinger do 2 be better? Score 30? Thornton has been doing that since they put him in the lineup in December. Aside from Curry, he is the best shooter as a rookie in the league. I would like 2 c how he does in the 3 point shootout? Collison is proving his worth just from the standpoint that N.O. is considering who 2 trade. Coming into the season no one would’ve ever believed that the Hornets would even consider trading CP3! Thats just how good Collison has been. If u put Thornton an Budinger on the same squad then Thornton would start over Budinger everytime! He’s a flat out scorer who’s definitely gonna take shots away from CP3 cause he’s a dead on scorer!
@Chi-town – yeah. Right now.
@Teddy – now we’re on the same page.
I don’t know how stable the Brooks/Martin back-court is going to be. If Houston tries to deal during the off-season, it’s more than likely that Brooks+Scola are going to be traded, probably for Bosh.
It’d mean Lowry/Martin/Ariza/Bosh/Yao would be the line-up. If Houston DID get Bosh, they’d need a guy to run the point who doesn’t look for his own shot as much. I know Brooks has HAD to this year, but can he dial it down next year if another star-calibre player comes in next year? I dunno.
If J.R Smith ever gets a starting spot, then Billups+J.R is pretty strong.
And if the Lakers ever fill that void at the PG spot…
Remember, the Jazz have the Knicks pick for the draft this year as well. If they manage to get the 1st/2nd pick.. they’ll have Williams + Wall/Evans. Might as well draft Evans though since they’re set at PG. OR, they could trade Wall and get another 2 (but they really need a PF/C since Boozer is probably gone).
Its funny how Teddy said the “potential” to be best and yall went off on him like he said they were the best right now period. They do have great potential and i think a lot of you guys haven’t been paying attention. Not to say that the Hornets didn’t want CP3 back, but Collison made it easy to move along without him. And Thornton has been killing everyone, he can flat-out score from anywhere on the court.
The Hornets are NOT considering trading CP3. Never have they even entertained such thoughts. The media has though and of course people feed into it. Collison has been good but he hasn’t been THAT good. The Hornets still lost more games with him at the helm than they did with CP3 at the helm. CP3 puts butts in the seats. Collison isn’t at all as marketable as CP3. Get a clue guys and let the ‘will CP3 be traded’ crap go take a nap. Collison can carry a team but he can’t yet lead a team. People love the Hornets being the laughing stock of the league which is what they’d want the Hornets to be if they traded CP3 for Collison. You don’t trade a player of CP3′s caliber unless he requests such.
Gary Chouest FTW!!
Just forget about all that trade CP3 sh*t and keep watching this grown ass man dunk.
