Slamadaday: Tony Allen on Antawn Jamison

Jamison struggled during the entire series, and never more than last night during the Cavs’ final game of the season. Tony Allen was only too happy to put a cap on Antawn’s terrible day:

We need more Tony Allen interview videos.

If this isn’t on SLAMups I’ll fall out. If Kobe. LBJ or Wade had done this it would be running on a loop on ESPN. I’ve only seen it 1x and that’s here on line. The slow mo from behind is sick, simply sick.

Since I’m now trying to have SLAM set up the mag the way I want it can you guys do this one in the freeze fram mode also like you did in the early years? Can you also track down Cedric “Cornbread” Maxwell for an old school article? You can find him behind the mic at the Garden. hint hint. BTW Steve Nash is scary, always have been….

i co-sign on the screenshots accompanying the picture, especially since pretty much every game is televised now. i’m sure there’s some legal reason the mag stopped doing it, but sometimes the picture doesn’t give you a full grasp of what happened.

How about the dish by shuttlesworth, i made 400 bucks off this series :)

No gonna front: I thought Tony Allen was on his way out of the league. He suddenly realized that he’ll never be a scorer and accepted his role as an energy/defense guy. It’s funny that the three guys that they brought to take his job are all rotting on the bench (Fin, Marquis, Nate).

  • BostonBaller

I’m not sure they got those 3 to replace TA. TA can score but he’s not a scorer on the NBA level. He has nice moves when he does them in the flow of the game. I still think Daniels will have a place in these playoffs at some point.

BostonBaller: Doc doesn’t trust Quis. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Fin get some spot minutes here and there.

tony is an athletic dude. this one and the one earlier in the year from behind the backboard show that he’s one of the best in the league at controlling himself in the air and readjusting based on the defender (or backboard).

  • vtrobot

he’s got a funny way of celebrating too. it always seems like he temporarily develops a mild case of cerebral palsy.

Wow, Tony pulled that one WAY back.

  • riggs

i love when he adjusts his shot/dunk in the air, imagine how high he used to jump before his injury??

I was watching this game and howled after that dunk. Mind you: I live in the Netherlands so it was in the middle of night. Hope I didn’t wake up my neigbors, but damn, I loved that dunk. Didn’t know Tony Allen still had it in him.

  • Da Real

    defining moment of his career??

  • http://slamonline.com Brad Long

This dunk will forever be know as the Antwan Shameison.

^rondo punked him again on a fake pass to the three point line for a layup, cant remember if it was game 4 or 6.

  • ClydeSays

Welcome back to the show, Tony! His defense was nasty all series, but that was a truly SICK & EVIL dunk.
